We teach a database course on MS Access, but I haven't taught that one (frankly, I hope I don't have to :) ). The Distance Learning department here is still a heavy user of FileMaker as well. So, you're not so out of date.

On the subject of preparing for the vapeocalypse (which is looking more imminent every day), my collection includes:

1 4nine clone
2 SMPL clones
4 2six clones
1 26650 Stingray clone
1 KFL+V2 clone
4 EHPro Big Buddhas
1 Goblin
1 Orchid V6
16 miscellaneous batteries
1.5+ liters of 100mg/ml nic
probably around 0.5 liters of misc. flavorings
about 3 quarts of VG
lifetime supply of KGD and rayon
Lots of bottles, syringes, needles, mixing equipment
Miscellaneous parts, tools, kanthal, volt-ohm meter, etc., etc.

If the vapeocalypse hit tomorrow, I could last for at least a few years without buying anything else (and possibly, several years).

Of course, all of that is moot if nicotine becomes a controlled substance (Oregon House Bill 2558).

I may need a database to start inventory control of my gear. (by the way, I was in charge of supporting way too many terabytes of Oracle database on Windows Enterprise Servers with SLAs of like 99.9999% uptime - yikes I don't miss it).

But off the top of my head, here's 90% of the 'stuff' we have around. Now remember this is for 2 people but I still don't feel prepared for a vapeocalypse.

I store mine in my nic freezer. It's locable
View attachment 407857
I only buy PG nic... It's my understanding it will last longer.
I estimate I have about 18 years of nic stored... And room to triple that.

Me too on the 18 years. I had been waiting to buy my own little freezer. But, I finally gave up and just put it all in my brother's freezer. He never buys food anyway. So, he's got lots of room for my lifetime supply and for his own lifetime supply.

Now what are we going to do with my sister's lifetime supply?

he, he - a variance of 1 to 1.5 watts. I don't even think I could tell the difference between vaping at 10 watts compared to 11 watts.

Kenna - be careful. The Russian V2's at Mt Baker and EVCigarettes are not the Russian 2.0's. The Russian 2.0's have a ring to adjust airflow and a side fill port. The V2 91% and full size Russian use a screw to adjust airflow. The V2 R91% uses a screw to fill it while the full size Russian does have a side port for filling.

VaporDNA has the V2 for $100 and the Russian 2.0 for $114.

It's quite confusing since the upgraded originals are called V2's and the all new one with the side ring for air control and filling is call the Russian 2.0 or sometimes the Version 2.0 not V2.

Thanks for the info! i'm looking for Kayfuns or Russians with the side port to fill.

Mine's in USPS limbo, too. The first half left SF about 3 days ago, & the second half got there & left again today. We must have had orders in the same container since we ordered the same thing 24 hours apart.
But I got the shrink wrap from PapaSloth today! :) Five minutes after I opened the envelope with the shrinkwrap in it I put a battery in the Hana backwards & it's dead, dead, dead. I sent an email to Hana's repair service to find out about fixing it.
So I'm back to the MVP's & Istick for now. The istick hits about like the Hana, the MVP's not so much. At least I understand what that means now!
So good things & bad things all in one day!

Oh no. That's horrible. Hope it can be fixed. That's one reason I stick with what I have, I'd kill something before I ever got a hit off of it. Mine's very forgiving, knows it's dealing with a complete idiot and protects itself.

So how does everyone store their nic? Buy liters & break it down into what sizes for freezing? Freeze or no? In what kind of bottles? I'm thinking the 100mg/ml would be easy to mix with. Pg or vg better for storing?

I'll catch up tomorrow. g'nite!

I had some 340ml amber soft drink bottles I put my nic in them and in the freezer.

I miss her, she was a riot.

Yo, bartender! I want what he’s drinking please!

And an excelent reply from PayPal.

So... Apparently, I must have set a time limit on it. Going to go take care of that now. :)

Glad you found out the problem, that they have no problem with it and you can fix it.

I believe it's called CYA... cover your, um, behind?

Uh-huh, just ordered another 250ml of nic. Better safe than sorry. Also want to be sure I can help somebody new.

Nice little freezer. About how much are those going for these days?

Many, if not most, freeze nic in 'padded' colored glass bottles for long term storage. I like to break down a liter into 250ml bottles. According to Kurt, our resident 'ECF chemist', PG based nic stores better than VG.

I'm sure others will chime in with helpful info..

Just my .02 FRN...

Same here, except I've been using the 120ml bottles. Amber and blue bottles (called Boston Rounds) shield better against light exposure from what I've read and I think I read that from one of Kurt's posts. Put the bottles in the bubble wrap sleeve it came in and that goes into a ziplock, then the freezer.. If we get the vacuum sealer, I'll vac seal them instead of the ziplocks. Some people put the bottles in socks to keep them from light and to pad them.

That's what I thought too. But, when I went to pick up some PG, they had gallons of VG sitting right next to the gallons of PG.

ETA: If the PG is about $25, it must have been the VG that was about $35.

Yay! I’ll look for it there. Thanks!

3rd 50+ year old convert today, my normal go to site was out of stock WoV had to find another and it was a lil'cheaper. Aspire premium kit is a great starter kit. Including myself a total of 6 made the switch with this kit and stopped completely. :) Im sure there will be more and it's from curiosity not pushing it.
Wow, your really increasing the vaping community ... that's good, now remind them they have a voice, and to use it .. the gov is after them :(

Of course, all of that is moot if nicotine becomes a controlled substance (Oregon House Bill 2558).
OH NO, you can't have potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, or any veggies that are members of the Solanaceae family, one of our most often-consumed vegetable groups.
OH, ..and forget using Vitamin B3 and Niacin and . against the law
And you can't wash it down with Wine or some Tea's .. yup, against the law, they have nicotine

How or would any of this affect buying vaping products online from the USA for me in Australia ?
How or would it affect people in USA buying online from other countries ?

How long can you store batteries and at what charge level should they be at for storage ?

Over the years I've lost track of the storing requirements for different batteries, this time talking about the vaping ones.

All good questions that I don't really have an answer for. Washington would be foolish to ban out of state/country sales for MBV and ProVape. On the other hand, they may just pick up and move to another state. I have no clue how any state can stop incoming vape mail. Scan every piece of mail?

I did read on here somewhere where gun vendors rolled over and refused to ship items to Calif. that were outlawed here and perhaps the same will happen with vaping. Someone else can probably give you a better answer but at this point no one knows for sure.

Greed greed
On the daily show they showed how no representatives from the USA went to that march in France after people were killed , yet nearly all top people from the white house including the president went to Saudi Arabia when a king there died recently.

They really screwed up with France and admitted it. Saudi Arabia was politics as usual and they pretty much admitted that also.

1. Unless your country creates law on buying through the web ... not much
BUT .. If this happens here, most of the places you could buy from, will be gone

2. I'm not up on battery storage, but as far as too what your calling "vaping" batteries, the batteries we all use are also used by other products, like flashlights, so should be available

I have no clue how any state can stop incoming vape mail. Scan every piece of mail?
They won't check the incoming mail so much as they will put a stop at the other end.
Just like the guns, if the "vaping" supply distributor's, are notified that there will be a hefty fine if they are caught shipped into a state where it is illegal to ship their supplies, how many do you think will take the chance.
What's one or two states here or there ... now if it gets to the point that's there's no place left they can ship too, it's another story.
But I think by then, there would be hell to pay concerning the laws due to public reaction.
Also, I don't think our states can dictate to china or other countries, so they would then have to intercept the mail like customs to stop it.
China is good about deceptive "ingredients" of a package.

Politics ah ok , over here we call it Oil.

LOL, but there is more to it than that. For instance, we do have a dialogue with Saudi Arabia but not with some other countries that Saudi Arabia does. Works the other way around too. It's a global chess game. Far more complicated than that but it's midnight here.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, the board is totally fried and will have to be replaced. Is that fixing or a new Hana? Please let us know what they say. I'm curious.

Here's what I think I know about our Li-ion batteries. If I wanted to store one for a long time I would charge it to 3.75 volts, +-0.05, put it in a couple of freezer bags and put it in my freezer which keeps a temperature of about -5 deg C (23 deg F).

Here is some info from Battery University: How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries. That whole article is a good read, but table 3 has the good stuff on this. They say that at 40% charge and stored at 0 deg C, your battery will recover 98% of its capacity after one year in storage.

IMO this might be a bit enthusiastic, but I have not tried it myself, so that's just my opinion. Losing 2% a year is not too shabby though so even if they are off a bit it's not bad. IMO Li-ion batteries are not going to become regulated so I'm not going to worry about this one, but you never know :)

Really don't know how long you can store them but, I do know they are supposed to be stored at around 3.6 volts charge and lose a certain amount of charge monthly. That's why they are only halfway charged when you get them.

After reading this, and since I may be turning into a mostly-VG vaper, I ordered 2 gallons from ED, $50 (for 2) with free shipping. ED's price on VG is lower than it was the last time I checked a few months ago. http://www.essentialdepot.com/category/glycerin-components.html

So where does the partridge stay, then?

I've re-purposed a trio of 750ml glass rum bottles with corked tops to store my 2 liters of 100mg/ml nicotine. I knew when I bought the nic (from My Freedom Smokes) that Kurt the Chemist had said PG would work better for long-term storage, but I got 100% VG anyway. I'm not worried about the longevity of the VG. I'm also not worried about using clear glass, since the freezer is, duh, dark except when the door is opened. I have a spare 120 ml amber bottle that I'll use when I "decant" small quantities of the stored nic juice.
