REVIEW: My DIY Betelgeuse with Capellas verdict: Great stuff, totally rocks, nearly there, though something missing.
Sweet Strawberry (Cap) 6%
Golden Pineapple (Cap) 5%
Raspberry (Cap) 5%
Sweet Mango (Cap) 3%
Sweetener (Sucralose) (TFA) 0.5%
This was a guy's recipe who has been trying to perfect it since the flavor came out. I didn't add or subtract anything and made it precisely according to his directions for a 65/35 pg/vg with 16 mg nic. I used 10 ml, 3 ml, and 1 ml syringes to measure. (You can get these at Walmart, the 1 ml is the tuberculin syringe if they tell you they don't have any. I told them I needed them to mix essential oils rather than ejuice...just because.)
Now, this is awesome. I can taste whiffs of raspberry, then a hint of strawberry, and take another draw and get a mouthful of mango with a berry or pineapple finish. I am vaping on a new coil and have gradually increased the watts. It has all the four flavors and sweetener, but I swear to you there is something they aren't telling. Something's missing. Betelgeuse, while delightfully and interestingly fruity, leaves me with a soft, mellow, toasty, warm aftertaste akin to brown sugar or caramel. Not sure what, and not sure percent...but something is slightly off. As a clone, it's certainly a good one, so I don't want to experiment with it just yet. Maybe on the next run. Don't start yelling at the line cook.

Welcome to the Porch, 52. Kick back and have a vape. :thumb:

Yes Sir, I think I will. I'm on my SVD2/Magma right now but most of the time I'm using my Sig mini 30 and Lemo (5ml) at 12 watts MTL. I just go to the Dark Side (Blow'n Clouds Bro') every once in a while.

Do Ya'll Really taste your juice good ? I Haven't from day 1. I'm thinkin that all my taste buds are damn near dead due to my 52 years of tobacco use. I read about people talk'in about notes of this flavor and notes of that flavor, but I don't get ANY of that, just if it taste good or not. I mean Vanilla taste Kind of like Vanilla but thats it, the tobacco's also. Guess it's just me.

52anddone I'm a newbie and these folks took me under their wing and made a vaping machine outta me in one day. Now I'm DIY. They are the Koolest Kidz on the block. Tonight I'm vaping a Betelgeuse clone. Very nice to make your acquaintance. Stick around. I'm always needin' questions answered. The more the merrier.

DIY can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. I like my simple watermelon. 20% Flavor Concentrates watermelon flavoring. .5% nicotine. some Stevia sweetner and the rest 50/50 PG/VG.

But as you see in the diy section many use complicated recipes. Then there is steeping. And sacrificing goats under a full moon, etc.

Right now I'm kind of thinking about the DIY thing myself, but haven't made up my mind just how much hassle it would be for me NOT to screw things up. How simple is it Seapeach ?
It's as simple or as complicated as you make it. I made 500 mls of nic base, and just put a few drops of super concentrated flavor in it to make juice. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
the trophy points are just silly things they do for milestones you achieve on here.

Well, I have been steeping, No Goats though. I just wonder how hard it would be to do like 6mg of 50-50 or 80-20 Unflavored Nic. I have absolutely NO clue even how to start, and don't know if the cost benefit over buying it already mixed from Mt. Baker Vapor would be worth my time to do it myself.

It was great talking to everybody at the hangout but the battery on my tablet ran out so it shut off on me. Sorry about that. Talk to y'all next time. :vapor:

BTW, I believe Deb has me talked into a Reo. They should put her on the payroll.

I'm new, but my nursing experience has made the transition to DIY a breeze. Seriously, if you're not into flavored juices...there's nothing much to it to mix the pg with the vg and add the nic. I use 110mg/ml nic to make the calculations easy, but eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator has a calculator that takes all the guesswork out of it.

A gallon of pg and pg is around forty dollars each and the 500 mls of nic was just over fifty. That should last me a year and a half if I've figured things right.

I bought a gallon of pg and a gallon of vg for $50 shipped, that will last, a couple years probably. A liter of 100mg nic will last me about 3 years since I vape 24mg, my freedom smokes puts those on sale for $40 often, buy two you get free shipping. 10 mls of super concentrated flavorings run $6-8 but will last forever since you use drops of em instead of mls like some other flavorings. So, less than $200 you can have enough stuff to keep you in juice for several years. I used a measuring cup to measure my nic, pg and vg, put it in a jar, shook it up......pull some out, put it in my reo bottle, add a few drops of flavoring.

It does get better with time. I just went over the 2 year vaping mark a few months ago and I am still noticing improvements in my sense of taste. Until last month I couldn't taste grape flavors at all and now I have that back.

WHen I first started vaping I was getting double shots of flavoring or making my own very strong and now I no longer need to do that. At first I had the best luck with tasting strong mints or menthols.

Well, That sounds easy enough a Cave Man Could Do It. Thanks.
