Hey Metal, Yeah, I like drippin, late at night when I can relax, but I'm on my Lemo's most of the time. I tried twisting my own 32 and it came out OK (I did about 3 feet of it and the coils came out nice) for doin it by hand since I've Not got a drill, but my arthritis is getting worse so I just buy pre-Twisted UD Kanthal A1 (not pre-coiled) from EVCigarettes.Com, 5m roll of 32G Twisted for about $5.99 and go that route. I use a Coil Master to do my coils, usually Dual 2mm ID spaced 8 wrap on my Magma @ 20W and Lung Hits (or tryin to at least), Please don't get me wrong, I'm not a "Bro, Dude" :vapor:, Ha Ha !! Just mess'in around, It's Fun though. I'm liking 10 wraps of Twisted 30 UD Pre-Twisted again, 2mm ID for my Lemo's (all 5 of them, I love those RTA's) and ... Labo cotton @ 13W MTL, Don't know if that makes me a "Tottle Puffer" or not though :smokie: (the 13W's). This Has Become a Hobby though. I've also got a S.O.D. 5k, Crown, Atomic, and IGO-L (I drilled that one out) 3 Lemo's, 2 Lemo Drops, 3 Sigelei mini 30W's, 1 Sigelei 50W Vr2, SID, iTaste SVD2, 2 1600 mAh Spinner2's, 2 EVOD2's, 2 AeroTanks (a v1 and a v2) 1 AeroTank Mega. I think thats it. Like I told my wife after I got my Spinners and EVODS to get me off of tobacco (August 28, 2014), Thats ALL I need. Then all this other stuff appeared ?? I'm just a Gray Haired Old Fart that likes to vape !!

I thought you were just getting started. Sounds like you've got some nice gear. I don't even know what some of that stuff is!

I agree with others that you may have too much flavoring, but if you back it off and that doesn't work, try adding a few drops of apple cider vinegar, usually 3 drops per 10 mls I think, Iffy can confirm

I remember back when I mixed this, someone posted...

My earlier TFA/PA/etc endeavors measured out from 30 to 38 drops per ml. Keep in mind that the spout size and bottle suppleness will affect the drop count per ml.

I mixed up another with 25 drops. I'll drip some today and see if it's got any flavor. It will be easy to make another with less and see how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestions I'll keep them in mind.

edit:

I can already taste the 25 drop juice. It's subtle but it's got some RY4 flavor to it.

I mix my PG, VG, and nic in a big batch, shake it up, and let it sit. Then mix smaller batches with flavors.

This is what I do, too. And shake it again when I'm ready to mix with flavors, and shake the flavors. This way the nic stays in the freezer longer, I don't have to drag out the nic, pg & vg everytime I want to mix something. Just the base mix and flavors, 'cuz I'm lazy that way! And I mix directly into the bottle, no beakers or cylinders. Less to wash.....

I'm curious....any particular order to adding ingredients when diy? base/nic/ flavor? nic/ flavor/ base, etc. ?

yeah....yeah....I know...youtube.....rather hear from those I know

Some may think there is but not for me.
Ive done it all different orders in the past.
Though now I do the flavours then vg/pg then nic.
Then shake it like a maniac.

I make a 24mg nic solution. Keep 100mg nic in the freezer and 24mg solution in the cupboard.
Vg pour into a cup.
Use syringes , needles with the flavours just take out of the bottles , no needle with the vg or nic.
Do the 100 drop test first , flavours and vg/pg but no nic then see how that goes then if good make a full batch.
Make 100ml juice at a time. Have four bottles on rotation but just use one bottle at a time. When two are empty I make another two.

All of the reasons given by others make sense, for why they mix in the order that they mix. But, there is no wrong order in which to mix.

I've mixed in every possible order. My tendency is to add the flavoring neither first nor last, to insure that it's not over-represented in the few drops that will remain in the graduated cylinder after I pour the joose from the cylinder into a bottle. I try to pour the ingredients into the middle of my graduated cylinder to avoid having them stick to the sides of the cylinder on their way down.

VG, being the thickest component, tends to stick to the inside wall of the cylinder more than the thinner components, so I tend to add it last because that makes less vertical distance that I have to pour it into the mix, making it easier to avoid the side wall of the cylinder with it.

Usually but not always, I'll put a piece of plastic wrap over the cylinder opening after I've added all my ingredients, then invert and shake the cylinder, before pouring the juice into my bottle, where it gets some vigorous shaking.

I have seriously been thinking about getting one of those battery operated mixers just for this purpose.

I mix my pg, vg and flavors and save nic for last. Only because if for some reason I realize I screwed up on a flavor I am not wasting my nic. Others mix differently.
That's the smart way to do it so, naturally, I don't. But I used to.

I mix in the too. Have all the little doodads to make me look like a mad scientist and yet my preferred method, no matter how hard I try otherwise, is to mix in the bottle.

I'm down to using pretty much only a 30ml and 3ml syringe. I pull the nic first and then the flavoring so the latter doesn't contaminate the nic. I'm lucky in that the flavors I used are vapable from the get go. A day or two steeping helps them but in a pinch they are doable.

I have seriously been thinking about getting one of those battery operated mixers just for this purpose.
Get a dog, strap the mix to its leg, toss the Frisbee for a while. Far more entertaining than a blender. Think of it as uber ultrasonic steeping.

Might want to check nic vs. flav pricing per recipe. If using concentrate flavs, then maybe a judicious procedure.

You've answered your own concern re VG. Or use da batt mixer <see below> and $ave on plastic wrap...

BTW, VG viscosity is currently not an issue with our temps recently!

Still using MINE! Do a lil' Googlin' and ya might find 'em cheaper. Think I paid 'bout $7 shipped several years ago. Also, an ECF search under my nomer will find a couple of my posts re dat mixer and it's use.

One major reason I don't use syringes, unless absolutely necessary (very rare occasion).

And await da fer PETA, ASPCA, NLRB and IRS to knock on your door!

This has been very interesting to me. After reading how a lot of you mix and thinking about how I do it I do see why others do it a bit differently. Most of the mixing I do is in 4oz cough syrup bottles. I have a friend that's a pharmacist and he gave me a half dozen bottles when I started mixing ( and some other gear ). When I'm mixing for these bottles, I use a 10ml and 50ml graduated cylinder and dump into a 250ml beaker. This is 90% of the mixing I do anymore.

For 30ml mixes, I do use syringes for nic and flavoring but still use the 10ml graduated cylinder for the pg/vg. The nice thing about the graduated cylinder is you can use a pipette and take out a little bit or add a tiny bit to get your measurement just right.

I don't worry about the cost of the ingredients very much. I mostly use menthol crystals, ethyl malto, and some of the simpler TFA flavors. I did a bulk purchase of 100mg nic about a year ago and have a 5 year supply of that. The way I look at it, if I totally screw up a bottle of juice, I'll just pour it out and be out the few dollars, but so far I haven't done a 4oz screw up, usually save that for the 30ml or 15ml "I thought I had it right" batches. Ha, but now that I put that in writing, next time is probably going to get me.

Never thought about a mixer... I just shake the hell out of the bottle when ever I think about it and let it go at that.
