Most acrid air I have ever breathed was in Paris, France. Nose and throat would burn for the first 15 minutes or so when we started out for the day. This was back in 1994. I don't think they hade any emission control on vehicles. The busses were the worst! Love that city though. Would love to go back.

Anyway, I did a coil change and noted the tiny holes on the sides were blackened. I would guess that would be gunked up. The little holes in sides of the coils that are still in the package are white (at least what's inside them looks white).
Yes, probably gunky juice. There was a problem a while back with some of the PT coils in that the wire would burn a rubber gasket. It was pretty awful but at least you could tell--painfully obvious--you were vaping burnt rubber rubber and change the coil.

Gas mask on your next trip.

As already stated no flavor manufacturer can claim "safe for vaping" because no one really knows yet. But I appreciate the ones who are doing testing and reformulating for chemicals suspected or already proven harmful to inhale. Although I am not paranoid about them, I am very aware and try to avoid them when I can. Yes, I really like some juice with diketones, so I vape them in moderation until I can find/make alternatives. For the most part I do not like custards and those flavors, but some, like creams, a little butterscotch at times and a few others, I appreciate the testing and reformulating. Will take some experimenting to perfect assumed "safe" juices.

Kenna, it was in use one week today. That's the shortest time I've gotten out of a coil since I started vaping.
Going to go out on a limb and say it's the sweeteners that are gunking your coils. Sweet and darker juices gunk them faster. I know, it sucks.
As much as we joke about the incomprehensibility of Greek, our language is closer related to theirs than Chinese is.
That is true. My point was tongue in cheek that they didn't use google translate. Far more entertaining when they do, but no clue as to what they are try to say.

EDIT

Very nicely said. Ditto.

The most annoying thing is the politicians want to ban it and won't even consider testing it.
Agree! They are not interested in public health and saving lives, they just want the $$$ to flow into their coffers.

Lol! You must have been vaping the daylights out of that! Make sure you keep enough juice in the tank to cover those juice holes so the wick doesn.t start to go dry. Keep your wicks wet, a motto to live by!

More of a 'Why are ya vaping any flavors at all?' emoticon. And 'which ones do ya vape?' And also agreed, why would any flav manufacturer make the reach to lay their necks 'on da block' in an infant industry without the testing that would satisfy all vapers and regulatory agencies?

My bottom DIY line is that I vape no 'oils' or 'custurds' (sic). Been following those two guidelines for 52 months and would gladly submit myself to intensive (non-invasive pre-autopsy) scrutiny!

I'm more concerned 'bout my improved health than reading emoticon lips...

Of course they don't make flavorings for vaping!!! Everyone enjoys a nice Virginia Tobacco gumdrop. <insert sarcastic emoticon here> ;)

Of course, if the gov did decide to analyze flavors for our protection, that would mean they'd have to spend our tax dollars on us. Makes no sense from a political standpoint I suppose. :(

Add a little Perique to that Virginia and I will enjoy those gumdrops all day long! Better yet, hard candies - melt in your mouth ;)

Firstiarily, I am of the temporary and possibly permanent opinion that the eLeaf iStick TC40W has grabbed the bull by the horns and found the ideal solution to Temperature Control: run the full wattage of the device at the coil. Don't worry, it is momentary. As soon as the set temperature is reached, in a fraction of a second, the power is naturally backed off, with the display showing the drastically reduced and varying wattage used to maintain the temperature. No need to mess with BOTH power level and temperature because setting the temperature does the trick.

Battery life on the iStick TC 40W: pretty darn good, because the mod spends SO LITTLE TIME pushing the entire 40 watts.

The lack of a big rush of vapor at the beginning of my draw is more than compensated by the identical amount of vapor throughout the entire draw.

Why I am falling in like with temperature control: gorgeously consistent vapor from the first moment of the draw to the final second of the draw. As I have said previously, I'm taking longer and more satisfying draws.

I did feel the need to rebuild the Nickel 200 coil I'd made 5 days ago with a new one. When I examined the previous coil it was pretty dark and cruddy looking, and it had climbed from 0.10 ohms to 0.13 ohms in the 5 days I'd used it. New coil: 5.5 spaced wraps of 28 gauge, initial temp setting 350 F, which I will raise as the coil breaks in.

Secondarily, I ordered 2 Stanley organizers. Filling the first one eliminated my clutter.... somewhat. We'll see what happens when I fill the second one. 3 inches is the maximum height for items stored vertically. $10 each with Amazon Prime.

Nice Ken! Just wondering out loud here ... but do they have gingerbread flavored filament for 3D printing? :D

Good going. I think the iStick is one of the least expensive TC mods to get started ... nice to hear it's working out so well for you. I must be lucky or something ... I've been vaping the same nickel coil in an rDNA since May 1st, just been reworking it after a light/easy dry burn and brushing off w/ a toothbrush. Started at .14Ωs and it's now .15Ωs.

How much joose have you put through it in those nearly 4 months?

Unlike most, I do not pulse, torch or dry burn coils. I build them, put them in the delivery device, and break them in if necessary, through actual use. They either work or they don't. Perhaps I'm paranoid but I'm not going to fire any coil without it being soaking wet and with a wick inside it, inside the delivery device.
