Holy crap, the eGo ONE is pretty rad. Just got it today, and it's a winner for me. I got the 2200 mAH battery with it. I'm a happy camper. :)
Great tank. Even though I'm a tootle puffer, I ended up buying an eVic VT because some kid at a vape shop forced me to. "Clouds, man--see, look at this...) It came with a One Mega tank. Between the 4 ml capacity, the 5500mAh of the eVic, I can tootle puff a long, long, time at 9W.:D
And welcome!
Naah do you know what that stuff costs per gram???
Cheaper to use Kanthal.
I know. I should have made a better deal with the French guy who comes by to pick up my spent fuel rods for reprocessing...
Have I ever mentioned that I have a backyard nucular power plant? Those Bush era energy credits were the bomb...;)

My Kayfun build may not be pretty. But, it's working so well and is so enjoyable that, while laying in bed yesterday morning, I got this crazy urge to build another coil in something!

So, yesterday I pulled out my Taifun GT-T V2. Unfortunately, I had a little trouble with the chamber getting stuck. I thought it was defective. Then, I realized that I had pushed it in crooked and possibly broken it. But, finally, I got the parts unstuck and ready to wash!

In the meantime, thinking I had broken the Taifun, I pulled out the Magma to try. I guess I'll wash them both and see what happens!

Let's see if I'm still this excited once I actually try to build.

Careful, DH. It can be contagious :)

And remember, function first, pretty can come later!

Actually, the hardest part is getting the wicking "right". Have to find the "just right" spot for each material. But if your KF build is doing great, you're either real close or nailed it!!

Seeing so many posts about wicking the KFL helped a lot. The video I was watching didn't mention one thing that I had read here many times. But, when I was having trouble, it came back to me: Put the tails up, sticking out the top of the chimney until after the chamber is in place. Then, tuck the wicks in where you want them to be.

I had way too much wick at first. But, everything seems to have worked out in the end.

Contagious? Success is contagious. The more success, the more contagious it's likely to become. The less success? Well, now you know why I have so little experience with RBAs even after such a long time.

I use antimatter. I try not to spill any.

Way to go! You can't see the coil once it's all assembled. As long as its vaping well who cares what it looks like.

I just setup a Taifun GT II-S. It's been on the vape table for a month so last night I finally coiled/wicked it up. I'm really liking it. It has 2 sets of 5 small air holes 180 degrees apart and a ring to select how many you want open.

By turning the control ring one way or the other, you can have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, or 10 holes open. I'm impressed how versatile it's air flow can be controlled - anywhere from tight - to moderate for my taste - to wide open for cloud chasing.

That's a lot to adjust, Mike. They should all just have the airflow that I like and be done with it.

I think there must be about 10 different Taifun versions, more than there are Kayfun versions, I think. Which makes it a pain to make sure all the parts match up when you buy them in parts at FT.

Well Taifun is clean and just about dry. I think I'll look at a video or two while I think about it.

And Vapemail today!

I got the SMOK Guradian and the Smok XPro M50(upgraded to M65) from the sales
and also from the sales one called "Magic Mellon" from the eJuice Factory.

I love my current Guardian and XPro M65.. so I should like these too...
will let you know about the Melon juice which is a blend of various melons.
But the Guardian looks like it was used for a display for a while (dusty) and the XPro M65 has the M56 on it, but only two screws in the bottom instead of 4, and the inside kinda looks ... refurbished.

at such low prices, I would still say I got a deal on both.

Pictures, please!

Well, I'm mad at my Taifun GT-T V2 right now. It's sitting in the corner right now. The chamber that's supposed to be able to slide down or come off so it's out of the way while building keeps getting stuck.

But, I did build a coil for my Magma, and it's working great! I definitely need to work on positioning of light, magnifier, atty, my hands, and my eyes. I keep re-positioning. It's getting better, just a little bit.

There may be some hope for me.

I've got an original version Taifun clone where that piece can be troublesome. Once it's pushed down it can be a bugger to get back up. Once it's out a little juice on the o-rings helps somewhat. I twist and pull up when it's stuck and someone use some words of encouragement - encouraging it to 'come up' or be put in the trash.

When I first unpacked it to look it over, I was having so much trouble with it that I went to the Taifun thread to get advice. I put juice all around the orings like they said to do. It didn't work the first time. But, eventually (with more juice and time to sit again and again), it started to work.

Triumph, right? No. Because I hadn't washed it yet to get any machine oil off. So, I washed it and let it dry. Same problem again. I don't think it will work unless covered in juice. If I ever do get it working again, then when I wash it and put it away between uses, I'll store it in pieces (with the chamber separate), then lube it up with juice BEFORE I put the chamber on.

If that doesn't work, into the trash.

But, my original version Taifun clone works great!

Encouragement, is THAT what you call it?!

I watched many videos on kayfun wicking and tried having all the wick stick out the chimney and it didn't work very well with the rayon since you have to over stuff the coil a bit and have too much tail.
I make kinda fan of the wick straight out then trim off the corners and maybe some off the top to loose some of the bulk. Then juice my wick and place it against the back wall like a waterfall, having no rogue hairs in the threads before I put the chimney in place. You'll see in the pic how I make a V with tweezers and if still too much bulk, remove some of the rayon from the middle to make a nice V shape. I have a pointy dental pick to get down the bottom so there is no wick anywhere near the channel to cause a leak. With wicking my kayfuns this way I very rarely have any problems with my kayfuns due to leaking through the air hole unless it tips over and shifts the wick inside in just the right way.

Thank you. I use rayon too. I've give that a try next time.

Your coils put mine to shame!

Just remember its NOT cotton so you can't handle it the same way. Cotton expands but the rayon doesn't. I pack the coil so there is very little if any slide action unlike cotton in which you have to have a little resistance when you slide the wick back and forth. I've had nothing but success using rayon in my kayfun builds

Regarding KF wicking...

First, the comments about rayon needing to be tight are dead on.

I do mine a bit different than you, Alter. I do put the vaporization chamber on, and push the wick ends through it as it goes. Snug that down, then cut the wicks about 1/4 inch above the lip. Tuck gently down on both sides of the terminals, making sure no strays are over the coil or air intake. I don't bother with your V notch. At that point, I'll put a few drips of unflavored on the wick, usually two drops on each side, and one on the coil, then do a final test fire. If good, on goes the chimney and tanks. Another drop on the end of the chimney before putting the cap on, to lube and seal the O-ring there.

Cover air intake(s) and test draw for vacuum.

Now at 11 KFs (hey, I couldn't resist that last sale of them for $10!), and the only times I've ever had leaks have been due to bad o-rings, usually either where the chimney goes through the cap or the bottom tank ring.

As long as you don't have so much wick that it really compresses into the juice channel, shouldn't be a problem. Cutting off 1/4" above the chamber rim is just about perfect.

Nice pictures and nice technique.

Nice, I have not tried Rayon yet but will give it a go. Will use your method, thanks.

Hi - welcome to the porch Skitterpop. At least this is the first time I remember seeing you here. Hope you join the group.
