I am considering to do DIY juices, even went to myfreedomsmokes and did a wishlist but im looking at 200$ for VG, flavors ( 5 of them), nic juice, measuring devices, bottles, etc is it worth it?? the experimentation, the time to find the right taste, the waste of material in case the mix is wrong?
I was into Research and Development/Project management and know prototyping is Extremely costly, considering this, this new aspect would fall under R&D, thus a position for high cost potential if failure occurs.

Do I dare ( take the challenge, no pain no gain attitude) or think this thru and rely on the experience of others to guide me in the correct direction ( right direction is personal)....
Damn I think too much but thats just me...

I have to tell you about the 'doublers' from Welcome to Tasty Vapor. It's not true DIY, but I think it's a good middle ground. It comes in just about any flavor you can think of. :) :vapor:

Good morning good folks... Greetings and Welcome to the "new" Older Folks. :)

Well, I knew the day would come sooner or later. It's been so long now though I was beginning to wonder, but...

Yesterday, I got thoroughly and completely FED UP with tobacco flavors.

I had 4 PVs set up, each with a 'baccky' flavor. I kept rotating from one to the other but they all tasted like... "yuck" (for lack of a better word that I can't say in public).

I have lots of flavors (mistakes) bought here and there over the last 233 days, don't like any of them... but the only 'quality' flavor (from a known-good vendor) was a Flavor Art "Cookie Dough".... added on a whim to a nic base order couple weeks ago.

Added 5 drops Cookie to 5ml of base, stirred thoroughly with my handy-dandy cordless mixer (in lieu of steeping), and topped off an Aspire Nova-size BDC with RY1 already in it. So, about 1/3 Cookie Dough and 2/3 RY1 (tobacco flav., also at 5%).

Yum!

Conclusion: It's high time I started buying and trying alternate flavors!

I now have beakers, 10 & 30ml syringes, etc... have installed the eJuiceMeUp calculator, studied some of the included recipes, and have had some good help and suggestions via PM (Thanks R2C2!) Started a list of basic flavors I'll need, and started a Word doc for cut/paste of good recipes I might run across on the 'net.

So here I go on the next leg of my Journey... hope y'all don't get tired of my recipe/flavor/best vendor questions.

Y'all have a nice day! :)

Don't worry. We don't get tired of questions.

Things to remember. It's easier to add flavor than to take away. Adding too much will actually REDUCE the flavor! Start at 5% and work your way up. I use between 7 and 10% depending on the flavoring.

Most fruit flavors will go good together, but not necessarily so with "bakery" flavorings. I tend to stick with the fruit, sweet and tropical flavorings myself.

Adding a few drops of Koolada can give a cool feeling without menthol taste, but adding too much could croak a horse!

Hope those help you start out well.

Well, I caught up with the thread again.

As far as what mixes well with bakky flavors (since you have so much left) - I have used cherry, brandy, coffee (various types), cappuccino (again various types), menthols, etc. and all have worked well. I do not vape much straight fruit flavors (once in a while, but not often). Mostly I use bakky and coffee (home strained) as my base and then add fruit and other flavors to get what I want. The other few vapers that I know have not been impressed with my eliquid mixes, but they work for me and that is what matters --- finding what keeps you off of the stinkies...

I mix RY4 for Mike and one time I accidently dumped my Janet's Heaven into it making it 1/2 JH and 1/2 RY4. Roh oh. Actually it turned out great and he vaped the whole 60 mls. Mike likes my pomegranate with a little tobacco flavor added to it too. It's funny, but I can't stand bakky flavors, but these are not bad at all.

I usually tell new people to not hesitate to try different flavors because so many people have said they're so surprised to like some that they never thought they would.

still cant seem to give up that morning ciggie with coffie

I've always needed a cig and coffee to get my heart started in the morning.

I went from 2PPD of analogs to vaping with 1.2% without much effort. (I'm one of those that "quit by accident". I just find vaping is so much more enjoyable than smoking.)

For particularly "tough" mornings I keep a few 2.4% White Cloud Flings handy. A couple hits of the "double nicotine" (to catch me up for what I missed when sleeping) gets my heart started and I'm then ready for another GREAT day of living!!!

I'm doing something similar.
Since I was a menthol smoker, I keep a menthol/tobacco flavor with more nic than I usually vape. I use this at those times when I feel the need. Like in the morning with coffee, after meals and before I go to bed.
I know most use a lower nic in the evenings, but I don't have much and it's only about 8mg nic. i vape 4 mg all day.

Yes, I've been told I need more nic, I disagree. I'm good with 4mg and the 8mg at certain times. I was an ultra light smoker, so these levels work for me. :)

It's day 8 without analogs and I feel better each day! :vapor::banana:

Way to go! I still remember my 1st week cig-free. I couldn't believe I made it a week and now it's a bit over 2 years. You're on the way 'nc'. Nice!
