Another short BS e-cig piece.

Beware of E-Cigarettes | Yahoo Health

Love how they refer to real cigarettes as being cheaper. WHAT?

Hope the link works, if not could someone do it right? :)

People don't handle change very well. It's frustrating, but I wouldn't worry too much. Eventually this kind of misinformation will taper off. We'll NEVER get people who want to believe vaping is bad to change their minds, but the uproar will die down. It's interesting that these kinds of articles make it sound like the entire medical profession believes eCigs are bad and yet we know so many people who have doctors who are very supportive. Also, I don't know why people think the FDA is the end all authority on what's safe. Probably the same people who think all doctors belong to the AMA.

Sitting here having a lovely vape my Birthday gift from the hubby Copper Vein REO Grand + RM2. 1.25 ohm coil with cotton wick and DIY Mint Candy juice. YUMMY!

Waiting for him to be finished getting dressed so he can take me out for my Birthday Lunch :) WHo says women take longer to get dressed? hehehehe

Just teasing he spoils me so.

Happy Birthday Myrany!!

And to everyone

Happy, Happy, Happy Myrany.

Janet's spot on. Remember that the "doctors" that work for the FDA are bureaucratic toads and subject to "special interest" forces.

Now, Merry Christmas to all the good folks here on the porch.

With the niceness out of the way....VAPEMAIL: from a coop...MVP(2), Vapeonly vPower 14500 and some i30S coils.

From Fasttech (finally) by way of Sweden...a Christmas red aluminum VAMO, some Protank coils and one of those 4x18650 power back up thingies.

And the really good news: homemade pizza and presents at my daughter's tonight.

The FDA works for Big Pharma..They would approve a dog turd..if pharma said so..Money talks..
The reason Dr's don't come out and publicly support vaping..Is they will lose their kickbacks from Pharma

Merry Christmas everyone:)

Hi All,
Merry Christmas!! and A Happy New Year to you!!

I have been sneaking through some posts as I am new here. I saw this one and thought it was great!! Although filled with an overwhelming amount of info. I am just learning all the new lingo.
I'm 37; I started smoking when I was 7 but didn't learn to inhale the smoke till I was 10 so I considered my true start age 10. I like everyone else who has smoked for a loooong time, couldn't breathe. I kept noticing pains in my chest and I knew what it was. I've always hated the smell of smoke on my clothes and in my hair; surely my skin and breath had it too...
Last year I started eating organic foods and avoiding chemicals and GMOs...I felt weird leaving the health food stores and lighting a cig but I am an addict, so. I found out recently that tobacco is all genetically modified and I have been on a kick to get rid of this nasty habit once and for all.
I of course tried the patch, gums, nicotrol inhalers, cold-turkey...only thing I hadn't tried was the pills. I don't like pills.
My first e-cig was one of the little guys that look like a cig. I am still confused on all the lingo; please be patient; I am learning. I bought it cheaply and it worked the same. You had to pull really hard and hardly ever got the TH you wanted.
I gave up about this time last year.
My husband works in a store that had some quality e-cigs clearo variety but this time they bought a knock off so they were defective :( He bought me one for our anniversary (12/23). Yesterday he told me to hit a vaporizer store and pick a replacement up and so far I had one half of an analog last night. (He was able to quit cold-turkey). I am in awe of how I was able to handle traffic and stress shopping but not smoke the whole time having the PV with me. It's also nice to be able to vape in public w/o the fake coughs and dirty looks analogs created. I bought an EVOD made by SMOOV. It works very well; gives me my TH and has a VV batt which is good for me. I am so happy to find other prior-smokers here to help each other.
I see all the MODS and just neat stuff people are making but I think for me; keeping it simple is good, who knows what the future holds though. We're both being easy on each other and I still have analogs if I want them; but so far so good. I agree wholeheartedly that having a community, even if it's online, to help and understand what you're going through is great and I appreciate every one of you :) :vapor::vapor:

Hi DorkPixie welcome to the porch! Pull up a rocker and set a spell.

What a great gift you and your hubby are giving each other with vaping!

I think for alot of us the key was not to put pressure on ourselves and take it one day at a time. I have read so many posts here on ECF by people who "Accidentally quit." Just one day they realized they were not having a cig now and then anymore. Vaping had taken over.

I am completely into all the fancy stuff when it comes to vaping and use it most of the time but let me tell you a little secret. I still use my little EGO batterys and EVOD Clearomizers at some point every day. There is nothing wrong with something simple that just works. I would hazard a guess that there are more people happily vaping away on simple devices with no desire to get into the complicated stuff than anyone realizes. Nothing wrong with it at all. :)

many people have that issue to start with. It's the whole "for it to work, it has to look like one" thing.
The little ones that look like a cigarette are cig-a-likes
... Or look-a-likeys if you are in some parts of Europe.

EVOD is a very good device. Your battery would be an EGO style which means you can put any EGO or 510 device on it, most likely

The community definitely helps. Smoking will start to taste worse and worse for you as you continue vaping, so don't sweat the small stuff. Modifications are for those people who like to tinker. BUT!!! You both need to get at least two, but not more than infinity backup batteries and e-liquid devices with replacement coils.

When you lose what you are holding, or the power is gone, or it just stops charging well anymore... You will thank yourself for spending the extra $25 to $35 on backups.

Welcome to the thread, sit down and enjoy your day!!

Let me add to Kens great post.

Backups for battery and the EVOD are a must. But make sure you two have a backup charger as well.

Any device be it the EVOD or the heads for the EVOD or the battery or the charger can and will fail at the most inopportune time possible. Having a spare is priceless. :)

Thanks ALL for the warm welcome and info...yea my charger last night; the plastic cover just cracked in half with zero force. The guy at the store is being awesome and giving me one when I come in...But I can definitely already see how having back-ups would be pertinent. I was on the vaping train when the hubby gave it to me Sunday night; the fact that it was defective, was such a bummer.
So happy to be here with all of ya...going back to reading all the older posts in this thread...it's a long one... :vapor::vapor:

Welcome aboard, Dixie!

Further reinforcement of all the above. Move at your own pace, don't fret if you have a cig, just try vaping a bit first :)

For me, it was finding the right nic level (and flavor, of course) that did the trick.

That, and hardware you're comfortable with, and that you can rely on. I have a few "high" capacity stick autos, and use them with cartos when I want to vape and use both hands.

And a few Spinners, which see regular service.

And a few mods, which have become my primary devices.

We're all different, have different needs and tastes, and the vaping world now has enough choices so we can all be happy.

Just don't feel you have to go overboard on anything. Get enough backups - as Myrany says, also of the charger! - so you don't have to worry about hardware failure. I.e., at least two of everything. Extra coils for whatever you put your juice in.

It's a wonderfully rewarding journey, whether or not you turn it into a hobby as well :)

Welcome dorkpixie! I echo what everyone else said! Enjoy the ride. We all find the route that works best for us - it's one of the amazing things about vaping, it really is a journey. The good people here are full of helpful advice in case we get stuck or are just wondering (or wandering as some of us do). You've probably already noticed that after checking our prior posts. This thread is for vaping discussions, but we have another thread for chatting about just about anything. You can join us at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/lounge/289745-older-people-55-up-923.html

Has anyone tried the AGR carto-tank? I know it's gotten bad reviews, but just couldn't resist the pretty new glass version. And, I just love the idea of being able to use unflanged cartos that lock into place.

Problem is that it's just not working right - so far. Compared to this, an old-fashioned carto-tank is fantastic. But, give me time. I'll figure it out - eventually.

It's so pretty though, isn't it?
