uh oh - Just saw this post by one of the mods in another 'big' thread. We've got 20,881 as I type - I wonder if we'll get closed down.

This is just a heads up for anyone following this thread--

Due to increasing server problems caused by giant threads we have been advised to close threads at 15,000 posts. Official advice from the forum software authors is that threads should be closed and restarted with a new thread before they reach a maximum limit, to avoid database issues that affect a site's operation. At ECF we have many giant threads well above the size limit set by the software developers, and we are experiencing some site speed issues that indicate action needs to be taken.

I've invited the OP of the thread to start a new thread when that happens because this is a popular thread and very helpful for members to see what different setups look like.

So, hold onto your pictures if you want to re-post them. We'll link the threads. This should happen around February 5 or there about.

bsoplinger welcome to our front porch :)

Please tell us exactly which mods are uncomfortable for you to use so we can try to help. :)

I find the edges/corners of my Reo grand and mini very uncomfortable.

I find pressing the button on my Phideas painful and pressing the feed button uncomfortable.

I find the weight of the Saber Touch (full sized or VV) to be on the heavy side, although the smaller 18350 based mini version comfortable.

The Indulgence was light enough but the button assembly kept dying.

Which is why I went to mods based on 18650 batteries.

First off, so glad ya dropped in! We always are lookin' fer ol' faces... Welcome and sit a spell.

Just my .02 FRN, I'm luvin' my Sigelei #20 telescopic (18350, 18450, 18650, Kick) in da 18350 config with a clone Kick. Well proportioned upper easy switch/button, compact, comfortable and a pleasure to carry/vape.

Now, that's only one of da galaxy of mods that would suit your needs. HERE'S a telescopic VV/VW mod I have on order due to it's flexibility with VV/VW capability.

I'm sure others here are gonna chip in to guide ya. We're all kinda that way.

I have fibromyalgia and figured this might be a good thread to post in, even if I'm only 54 ;)

I have a few mods that I find very uncomfortable to use. Either the metal edges "cut" into my fingers or the button is painful to press or located in an awkward location, etc. The best short term solution is eGo with a small tank, but I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require a stack of spare batteries or charging 3 or 4 times a day. Which is why I went to mods based on 18650 batteries.

Can those with similar issues chime in with what you've found that works for you?

I have serious arthritis in my hands. One mod I found really comfortable on bad hands days is the Ego T 18650

It is just like an ego in that it is not Variable voltage. It does however take an 18650 battery (WARNING only a flat top 18650). It has the ego rubbery shell so it is warm and doesn't slip out of the hand. In a real emergency it can actually be charged from a regular ego charger. It is not super heavy and very stable in the hand.

hmmm? You seem to like the bottom feed box mods. Have you checked out the Red Sky Mods thread?

It sure would be nice to keep some of this thread 'in tack' if a 3rd gen thread needs to be started. I think some of the draw for new folks to this thread is reading the 'history' built up here.

Welcome! I'm not familiar with your devices, but I've been using a ProVari Mini and a Sigelei Mini that seem to be pretty comfortable. I've gotten JWraps for them to make them look pretty and it also fixed the "slippery" feel of the metal Sigelei. If you have a Vape store near you it might be helpful to actually hold some of these to try them out.

Welcome and congratulations on making the switch. Vaping can be expensive in the beginning until you find a set up you like, but then it's up to you to control your spending as much as you want. Some of us have saved so much money on not buying cigarettes that we convince ourselves to let it become a fun hobby. Actually that works out well for a lot of people because then there's always someone here who knows something about a new device you're thinking about getting. We're a great resource for info and fun!

I would hope the mods would put out a general statement of a new rule like this so we have some warning. If Mike had not been on the other thread we wouldn't know anything about this and if we woke up one day and our thread was closed we'd be in the same angry place we were last time when we got moved without warning.

Hi and welcome Peepaw. Congrats :toast: on making the switch - it only gets better from here. Spend too much money - yikes! How much money did we throw away on cigs - I'm 67 and smoked for 45+ years - Lordy, Lordy all the 'cash' that went up in smoke. At least when i buy an expensive PV or atomizer - it will surely outlast me to say nothing of the benefit of keeping me away from smoking. Well that's my excuse / rationale for spending and I'm sticking with it.

I am happy with duck tape on my new VAMO, but the moment I feel rich again, I will be ordering a J-Wrap. Choices, choices.

You have good judgement ... this is the "best" thread.

I have problems with my hand, depending on the weather, and reach for the "little blue pills"
Do you have a problem in any certain part ... wrist, thumbs, which fingers, grip ??
That may help us to know.
Everyone here has different problems, and narrowing it down will help.
Someone here may be a "twin" and know exactly what you need

Welcome, glad you found us ... like Iffy says .."where ya been" ??? since 2010

Hi y'all. Hope you're still hangin' in there and if you're not, then someday I'll know how it is that you're still able to read the posts in this Forum.

The Trixie from MadVapes would be a comfortable 18650 mod for those with finger, hand or wrist pain, I would think. If my hands were average size instead of very large, I'd be using my Trixie instead of my Innokin VTR.

Speaking of the VTR, the internal threads stripped on the rotating ring after 3 solid months of use. I've now gone to my previously unused spare, and ordered one of the newer ones (with a fixed ring instead of rotating) from 101 Vapes.

Still hangin' out in NJ helping to take care of my Dad but it looks like it might not be too long before he's able to get by without my assistance. The biggest issue that remains is getting his compression stockings on. He can take them off, with great effort, but can't put them on.

Anyhoo, hello! It's less than a month until my one year vapeversary so start thinking about what you're gonna get for me.

It would help to know what particular problems you're having. As an example, I have severe nerve damage, which makes it hard to hold onto things and hard to tell where the firing button is and when I've actually pressed it. (Part of why I had to quit smoking, since it's annoying to drop my pv, but it doesn't start fires.) So when I first found ecf I asked for and got advice on what I should use.

I ended up with the itaste vv and have been very happy with them. Advantages are light weight, the square shape that makes it easier to hold onto (but with edges that are rounded enough to not hurt) and a button that is easy to push but has enough trim around it that it is possible for me to feel where it is. The main disadvantage is that the charge doesn't last long, but since it works as a pass-through I just pretty much move the cable from one to the other. I'm seriously considering getting an MVP for the longer time between charges, but am worried about the weight.

So what works for me might not work for you. In my case having to take batteries out, charge them and put them back in wouldn't work.

Thanks for letting us know what mods were giving you problems :) If battery life is a priority then the 18650 battery mods is what you'll be wanting. The 18350 battery mods as you found with the Saber Touch may be more comfortable for you as they are lighter weight, but with a whole lot less battery life.

I find my SID which is VV (takes 18650 batts) to be lightweight and comfortable to hold with a well placed button. I also agree with Myrany that the Ego T 18650 is lightweight with good button placement. It has a regulated mode but not VV.

Telescopic mods are convenient for using the longer life 18650 batteries or for times when you want a smaller sized mod in 18350 mode but some I've tried out can feel a bit heavy in either mode if ones hands are bothering them . I've not held the Sigelei #20 Iffy mentioned but I'm sure he'll give advice about the weight of it compared to others he owns :) Provari is a great mod, but too heavy for me for general use.

I think its safe to say that this thread is large enough they it will likely be among the ones with a new thread started. If they can link this thread to the first new post then the new people that wish to go back and read all our gibberings  should be able to find it without any problem. :) Hopefully they learned from the last time they split threads not to just surprise folks without some warning.

Ohhh, and big congrat's on cutting the umbilical cord to the tobacco industries.

Well I just found this thread tonight and pushing 2100 pages is a bit to go through in one setting.

I've trying to quit since I was about 21. I've stopped for a year a few times and even for five years one time.
Tried the nicorette with varied success.
I'm a trucker and in the past few years the e-cig deal has gotten my attention.
For about two months before Christmas I kept hearing ads for the Njoy e-cigs.I decided that Jan first I would give them a try.
That worked for about a week but just barely. They just peter out to quickly and they cost too much.
The second week I had ordered some white cloud flings off of the net. They were much better but still not what I wanted.
Last weekend I picked up a Kanger Evod starter kit and some juice. Wow what a difference.
Still using the Kanger, up to three batteries now, one being a vv.
Got four evod clearamizers and a couple of T3s.
Really enjoying it and never think about stinkies anymore.
Of course I have always though to quit smoking that you really have to want to and I really wanted to.

Thanks for the kind welcome.

Yep, that's a lot of reading.

E-cigs are great for a trucker. No more ashes all over the cab !
It gets a lot easier to climb up in the truck, hook and unhook the 5th wheel, load and unload, make deliveries and pick ups, when you can breath again.
And best of all the windshield stays clean !
What kind of trucking do you do ... all over the country, seeing everywhere, or do you get to go home at night.

Sounds like you followed the same path we all went down, and have now found starting gear you like.
The next biggie is finding juices you like.
I would suggest buying "samplers" packages. That way you can try a lot more for a lot less.
You get about 6 small bottles in each of fruits, tobaccos, sweets etc
Also, even if you don't like some of them, hang on to them.
After your taste buds finish coming back and changing around, (couple of months), you may not like what you did like anymore, and like the ones you didn't.
You can even mix them together to improve or dilute a juice.
Also, maybe pick up some juices in different levels of nicotine to have on hand until you find the strength that suits you.
Sounds like your doing OK with what you have though.

It get's kind of expensive at first, finding what you like, but once you settle in,
it's sooooo much cheaper (unless you turn it into a "hobby" like me)
