Got bored so I got rid of the dual twisted dragon and went with a dual 5 wrap of 26g kanthal. Comes in at .34 ohms. Vapes real nice

Very nice setup, I'm a BIG fan of center post builds

posted before, but here is my center post.

I'm very curious as well. It seems that would make it a lot easier to have them lined up perfectly with your air holes. Help us be awesome =[

Indeed it is much easier to get airhole alignment right! I credit texastanker's build pic above posted earlier for getting me to center my coils, now I build like that all the time.

I'm not sure how texastanker does it, but I usually mount mine like normal, but with longer legs. Then while I still have the pin inside the coil, I grab the coil with tweezers and pull it sideways. Then I do a couple glow'n'crimps to tighten the coil up.

Here's my last centered build on my IgoW (I think already posted, but what the heck)

this was my first time centering the coil as well, i found that with the coil being in the middle of the deck it seems like there is more air flow inside the chamber as opposed to having the coil(s) closer to the outside of the deck un centered. and it looks soooo much cleaner haha! how i did mine is i keep the positive leg straight and the negative leg i did kind of like an "L" bend while it was still on my drill bit so it would meet the neg post hole. i wish i took a pic of it as i just replaced the cotton with the last of what i had and i dont wanna pull it out lol.

thank you sir. your setup is clean as well. i think i can raise my coils just a bit like yours to fit more cotton in there. this build runs dry after 2-3 hefty pulls. this thread is an inspiration lol

Longer legs will waste a bit of power, but honestly I haven't really noticed any difference. If your coil is right on the verge of being underpowered longer legs might make a bigger difference, best way to find out is try ;)

You can also toy around with folding over and twisting your legs, to effectively reduce their resistance and bring more of the power towards the coil instead of the legs. Depending on what wire you use, and the posts in your atty, this might be impossible or very difficult though.

This was posted in another thread but figured I'd toss it in here as well. #coilporn lol This was inspired by deedupdex and his amazing amount of creativity. Sadly I lack that, but love to take inspiration from those that do, and do my own twist on it. 3 coils, 2 ohms, 1 wire, and a taifun gt. Loving this build, but golly gee wiz, this was a tough one.

Edit: oddly enough after some abuse it settled to 1.7 ohms. I thought it was less than 2 when I wrapped it... Time for a new cartometer... lol

^^I think he's got his tails folded under the coil, which makes it look more stuffed.

Here's my first non-compressed coil I've made in a long time. I just wanted to try a super high power setup for fun, but with compressed coils I kept running into issues of drying the wick out too quickly with the concentrated heat. Spread the coils a bit and now she vapes wonderfully. Twisted 28g, total resistance .23 ohm.

It definitely puts out hotter, more dense, thick flavorful vapor than my usual builds in the .4-.6 range, but to be honest, not enough to justify the ridiculous power levels in my opinion. Building coils seems to be like building track cars, with the law of diminishing returns and all that. Throw 100 horsepower at an 18 second car and it becomes dramatically faster, throw that same horsepower at a 10 second car and it doesn't do nearly as much.

I haven't posted in here in a while, so here's just a plain ol' AGA-T2 build.

Nothin' special. But even with Taifun GT and Kayfun/Russian clones, I keep my gennies in rotation. They're still much easier for me to troubleshoot. And while these "new guys" DO provide a little better flavor, it's sometimes just not worth the hassle.

That's all because I'm dealing with cheap clones with shallow juice channels though, so don't let my issues dissuade anyone from giving them a shot. I just....trust my genesis atomizers a little more.

28 gauge kanthal, about .5something Ohm.

Fair enough! ;)
But I like the extra bit of "idiot-proofness" that the sock provides. This particular idiot needs all the help he can get, heh.

And it seems like I get a bit more of a saturated, thick vape from it as well.

socks are for those afraid to get their feet wet :p

fixing hotspots is all part of the fun of gennies!

*sais this while happily vaping on a TI Steam Turbine :)
