For fun, last Saturday, while I was "helping out" at a local B&M, I decided to try some 2.5mm ekowool.

I have been an organic cotton guy since my first build.

I did a simple dual coil setup 26g, 3/32 screwdriver, 4 wraps, .3Ω, evenly spaced coils(not touching), Sony VTC4, SS King clone.

Double folded the ekowool then fished it through the coils. Soaked it, then vaped it.

First impression was an off flavor, I fought through it and kept using it for a few more hours.

Final opinion, the flavor always seems muted compared to cotton, the vapor production was lower than cotton. Although when it starts to dry out, the taste isn't as bad, dry hit on cotton is awful. Now that I have that curiosity over with, I will enjoy my cotton.

Just an opinion, no offense to ekowool users.

No matter how I placed a vertical coil, the throat hit was just not there as compared to a normal placed coil

I've had good results with vertical, horizontal and angled coils. Had my share of bad builds too. I'm going more horizontal to facilitate wicking. My latest is AGT horizotal; installed ground post.

Whenever I use silica wick rather then cotton I get a weird taste and a much smaller vape. No matter how much I torch it before hand.

that just looks WAY to stuffed man.... less is more... and in this case, a lot less.

let those coils breath a little!

it heats up fast and stays hot, less than second drags with nice hits. This is neat!!!

I'm running a 1.6 ohm nano dragon and it hits pretty good. As you can see from the second pic it has decent vapor production. Though from the first picture you couldn't really see the build because the dirty wick lol. Need to change it soon. But as of late all I've been running is nano dragon coils.
