Trying something different for me, decided to twist 28G and 30G together for my rendition of Deedupdex's "tween post build"

Coil wrapped over two 3mm pins (0.118"), came out to 0.33 ohms:

Cotton wicked using the iTeo Method :

Vapes great! Lots of vapor production and fantastic flavor :)
The wicks hold about 20 drops so now I can take quite a few pulls before the wicks dry out.

Had a little time today to do a build for my 22mm Stillare, gonna run this on the Stingray in 18490 mode so I shot for 0.8 ohm range, came out pretty close.

Dual coils, 28G, 5/6 wrap over a 2.75mm gage pin (0.109") yeilds 0.75 total ohm resistance

On a freshly charged Effest 18490 1100mah battery at 4.2V it pulls 5.6 Amps at 23.52 Watts.
Well within this 18490's continuous amp discharge rate of 8.8 Amp and max discharge of 11 Amp.

-----------------------------

I like the iTeo method for sub-ohm wicking because the wick never collapses after being used for a bit and the fact that it can hold about 15-20 drops each, so I can get numerous pulls before the wick even starts to dry out, even at sub-ohm temperatures.

This style wick goes against conventional cotton wicking's "less is better" methodology, but the density allows for better juice saturation of the wick, makes better contact with the coils surface area plus it holds ups well at sub ohm temperatures.

-----------------------------

Here is how I do these style wicks if you would like to try them :)

Start with unrolling your cotton ball and snipping out 2 sections:

Slightly juice the cotton and let it soak up, I use a gage pin to roll the juice into the cotton and make it flat like rice paper.

Now I just roll up the juiced cotton into a wick:

From here I roll the wick from the center out to make the diameter closely match the inside diameter of my coil.
In the pic the left one is the first roll, the right one is the one that was rolled to match my gage pin I used for my coil.

Now I thread the wick through the coil with a twisting motion kinda like turning a screw, the juice will bleed out of the wick during this process:

I slightly juice the wick again and tuck the ends into the deck:

This is what it looks like when I install the Stillare sleeve and positioned correctly in front of the air hole slit:

So thats my simple Dual coil Sub-Ohm build for the 18490 batteries, holds tons of juice, wicks tremendously well and the wick doesnt collapse after several uses like pulled cotton. Great vapor production and flavor are the reason I like this build :)

That's awesome thanks for sharing brother! I've always wondered how Teo get's his wicks so fat and perfectly round! Definitely going to try this with shiseido cotton pads, I think this is probably the perfect way to make the best out of cotton pads. Thanks for all the pics!

Your welcome, I'm glad you like the pic sequence. I loved the look of these wick ever since I first seen them.
Would love to see some pics of your build with the cotton pads when your done :)

I've subscribed to the rayon thread to check it out but haven't jumped on that bandwagon yet.
I am intrigued to try it out in the near future, would be a lot easier to build with vs iTeo style cotton wicking ;)
Been following the rayon thread for ages, started using it when a fellow ECF member sent me 2 feet or so 3 weeks ago. The whole time I was reading and looking at your wicking pics I kept thinking that rayon would be great for that. Just ask for someone to share a sample with you, the stuff most folks are buying comes in a 750' (that's feet) box, so anyone who purchased has enough for themselves, friends, family and everyone in the neighborhood ;)

There's a coupon right now I just ordered the 500ft box 44060, that's the one you want, shipped for $14!
It's a good bandwagon to jump on brotha, I jumped on during the alpaca fur Era, notice the avatar, and I've been using rayon in my bottom feeder, drippers r91's foggers gennys everything from 0.2ohm to 1.4ohm for fogger v4 on provari and it's killer.

Just made this magic mundy coil with .5x.1mm flat kanthan... Man this thing was difficult for the first time. I do not recommend using .5mm. It works though just have to be super patient. Vapes pretty nice. I think I'm addicted to making coils. I need help with my wicking skills, they definitely lack.

Here is a new Fast Tech Cartel Stillare in 28.5 mm size, I just received today.
First of all, it has very typical Fast Tech quality: Bunch of burrs and shavings. Also two out of the three Post screws were already stripped. I had to replace them with my handy M2.5 - 0.40 Stainless Steel screws from Amazon.com. The original ones were made out of NON stainless steel and they were M2.0 - 0.35. I had to drill the posts and re-thread them. While applying very little pressure tapping new threads, the Positive Post turned around and one of the Negative ones came out of the base. After putting it all back together and building a 0.26 Ohms with 24 Gauge Kanthal and Cotton. It vapes nice. Tons of Vapor and Flavor. But I don't like it's MPG. It holds a lot of liquid due to it's size and the amount of cotton I've stuffed there. I'm going to guess close to 1.0 ML. But I would take three or four puffs and it is all dry. Time to drip again, and I don't mean drip, pour liquid in it.

If you're really using close to 1ml per 3 puffs, you'd be going through 50, perhaps 100ml a day! That sure is awful MPG for sure.

I need some help here
just got my fogger, looks amazing but it's a shame I can't make it work good enough with duals 28 and get the ohms on the safe range for my 18350s and 18500 with the fogger is way too long for me that I wouldn't use it. It takes forever to heat at dual 28 10 loops at .77ohms. I know you'll say get a higher gauge but as I'm in mexico the wire will take a good 3 weeks at least to arrive and just have 26 and 28
is there any other solution? I don't know how the airflow would work on a single coil

That perhaps, would have been true if it was the only device I was Vaping on all day.
Also, I didn't measure exactly how much liquid does it actually hold and how many puffs I took exactly. That was my guesstimate based only on visual comparison with the smaller RDA. I could have exaggerated my guesstimated numbers a little bit without ill intend.
Why do I have a filling that you are trying to call me a liar?
