OK, first try on this one (both the parallel 26ga and the Bb code) so here goes nothing.

I got a 26650 mod a while back and have been looking for an rda with a big enough deck to take advantage of the added power. This weekend we got a day off work and I went shopping.

Sadly a friend of mine had just got the only plume veil (clone, but damned impressive) so I settled on a Patriot. The guy at the store built the plume veil, pretty sad but that's for another time.

The patriot gives me just a touch more room so I can drop in parallel 26ga at 9/8 wraps on a 2.4mm mandrel, and still has some airflow room to work with. Drilling out the topcap to 3/32" was a pita (destroyed a drill bit lol) but is enough air to support the hotter coils. I had to open up the post holes to run the parallel 26ga, but I think its worth it.

The heat sink doesn't really work for the mass of the coils but the drip tip still is decent with the amount of heat. Yes this is possible on an 18650, but only in the pulse range so I wouldn't even bother at nearly .25ohms.

Have the right gear or you're putting a grenade in your hand.

Oh that HCigar Helmsman Mod... How is your switch?

Once you get all the machine oil off its pretty good. Its magnetic, and the "grooves" don't line up very well out of the box so it can be a bit "crunchy" but with a little working it fires very well.

A pretty good piece for bouncing in a semi lol.

What do you think of that big fogger?

He likes the big budda better!

Yes I do.
This Wolverine was not working out for me at all. After wasting a half of spool of 26 Gauge Kanthal wire and tons of Rayon. Trying to do and re-do this thing.
I gave up on trying to make it work.

I just made an Aqua or Fogger out of it by making a new set of Airholes:

It made a World of difference! I can enjoy it now.

I also spent like 10mins trying to snap a macro picture of an ant. Much failure indeed.

I've got to get me one of those lens too. Because all of my pictures are made using an iPhone 5.

Could you share a link to that Lens attachment?

Thanks.

Very nice coils and pictures indeed! :toast:

I would except I got this off a random cart in a mall in Singapore (where I am right now). It was like SGD11 which comes out to USD9. I'm sure you can find it on eBay. Search for iPhone 5 macro lens

ETA: mine looks like this

Singapore, ha?

Hey, I've got a set of Batteries from FastTech stuck somewhere in Kuala Lumpur for few months.

Could you pick them up?

Just kidding. :toast:

Grin. Exactly. A 6 dorrah lens on a iPhone 5s. And it's dead easy: just clip it on.

Looks like the airflow came around the center post when it was stock... kind of an odd setup.

Very odd and useless IMHO
Because the Ceramic cup is not hermetically sealed and the air will be coming out every which way from around the cup and around the Positive Terminal. It's like a bad carburetor, where it allows to flow through the Jet and around the Jet as well.

Besides drilling new Airflow holes, I sealed those old Airholes on the side with three headless screws and sanded them flush, and also sealed the bottom 510 connector with Silicone insulator from AGA or something. Now I have my Airflow completely insulated from anything else.
