only my 3rd build so far. Followed Rip Tripper's vid for twisting and making a 1 ohm twisted micro coil out of 28 ga A1 Kanthal, and made a .5ohm dual coil build. 9 wraps around a 1mm post. Nice warm vape, and not as hot as an untwisted .5ohm build, or at least that's how it seems to me.

That is a good clean build. It should last you weeks as long as you rewick it.

Just tried SLIPPY_EEL's braided wire coils....WOW they are awesome....

Here is his thread about making them... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coil-builds/553309-braided-wire-coils.html

Here is my setup. 4 strands of 26ga braided then slightly twisted. 4 wraps around a 1/8 drill bit and she comes in at 0.22 ohms...very nice vape. Full of flavor and very dense.

I think I will keep this one for a bit.

Thanks SLIPPY_EEL for the great thread about an awesome coil

Only been vaping for 7 weeks (and zero cigs) and wanted something that looked healthy. Evolv's DNA 40 was just coming out and I got one from protovapor.com. Spent the week awaiting arrival of the unit, reading the 51+ pages of the nickel build discussions, they're up to 92 now.

Fortunately, the unit I got, worked flawlessly. The horror stories abounded on the earlier units. And wouldn't you know, all the coils I built, worked. Some kind of lucky, I guess. The last 2 builds, shown below, used twisted kanthal/nickel 200, allowed smaller gauge for higher resistance and enough toughness to not cut the wire when using the post holes on the Magma dripper. Specs: twisted 32 gauge kanthal and nickel, approx. 24 full twists per inch, 3+mm coil form, and about 10-13 turns.

Single coil of 0.49 ohms 4.9 ohms.jpgCoil 4.9.jpg vapes cool nice hit

Dual coil of 0.21 ohms Dual Twisted 0.21 ohms.jpgDual Twisted front-view.jpgDual Twisted side-view.jpg vapes nice and warm, very flavorful, becoming my favorite.

You'll note the 360F setting, during my research, found that this settings equals around 410F, cotton safety. The 390F on the single build was a carry over goof from a previous straight nickel build.

I run it just open a bit and it's ok, I can see everyone all ...... off trying to get on 0.8ohm build to work. .. gotta build aggressive enough to overcome the af

Yeap. I redid mine, dropped it down to 8 wraps, sitting at 0.34 ohms. The vapor is massive and thick as hell!

Thanks. I drilled the TOBH to fit some 22 in there with ease.

Those are just twisted 28. I will try that fusion soon. Parallel 24 with 28 wrapped.

Cool cool from a distance they looked like claptons, Im thinking of trying to wrap around 32g but thinking that will be to hard I've done 30g before and it was a pain lol

I've tried wrapping claptons on the drill and can't seem to do it. Tried a bunch of times and it's just not good.
