Holy cow. I can't wait for my higher gauge kanthal for claptons! Threw this flat bast*rd in my mx v1. Twisted 28 wrapped in 28g ribbon. Unbelievably good flacor, best to date of any mod and a regular build... magma, veritas, etc. Mx v1 with three holes open each side is usually very weak flavor but wowwww. Blown away.

Like many noobs I'm having a blast going from one thing to another and learning on the way. This is the third build and the most flavorful so far I've put in my Odin.

30g Twisted Dual
3/32" -- 2.38mm coil I.D.
8 wraps -- .7 ohms net
Pulls 6 amps / 25.2 watts on a mech mod.

This was my first dual coil build. The hole in the center pin is only so big and I doubt I could have fit two twisted legs of any larger gauge into place. Being thinner the coils have a quick ramp up and are providing nice flavor. The first hit on a cool addy is completely silent and the vapor is very cool. The next few it gets to popping a little but no spitting so that's good. The vapor gets warm but cooler than my Subtank Mini.

Provari or mech? What works best on one won't be the best for the other :p

A twisted wire at .8 ohms can be great on a mech in the kfl...... But I'd go with a standard 1.2 ohm macro coil on the provari, 28 gauge 6/7 wrap (depending on the diameter of what you are wrapping on)....i definitely prefer to heat and pinch those.

That's pretty much what I'm using. 28ga 9 wraps around a 2mm are coming in at 1.4 to 1.6 ohms. Good on the Provari at 4.3volts but I guess I need to use less wraps for the mechs. I do torch and pinch before mounting and keep the legs super short. The KoGhenDo wicks are lasting about 3 tanks before I start tasting a little burn. I guess that's about as good as I'm going to get for now.

I have an army of 18xxx batteries. I'm waiting for them to die before I get something like an Ileaf or Cloupor T6. I like the idea of a long battery life of the new Ileafs or T6 with the 26mm batteries.

That's a great job for only your third build!

Thanks USMCotaku! I sweated it for a bit. The twisted wire sure has a mind of its own until bolted down into position. They were pretty ugly until after a bunch of heating and pinching.

Twisting causes a spring effect in the wire. Torching the wire prior to wrapping will remove some of this. But if you can get them into place and neat (I'm super ocd about neat and straight coils :p) then you don't really need to do that

Ok build junkies, I've got a problem with an rda that's driving me insane so I'm bringing it here to get some opinions on it.

First the specs:

22ga kanthal a-1
6/7 wrap around 3mm mandrel with tension
Dual coils
Mounted in a Little Boy rda

Now the issue:

I've put 2 builds in this rda and both have done the same thing in about the same amount of time. They both had resistances that fluctuated all over the map on a regulated Sigelei box, confirmed with an ohm reader and multimeter and the resistance jumped from ~0.18Ω to ~0.8Ω in 12 hours.

Now, from experience I believe the problem to be with the rda, but I'm curious if anyone else has this problem so possibly it can be dealt with. The exposure or good quality regulated box mods that deliver solid power and good battery life means that a lot of us will be using them soon if we aren't already. Having seen one go thermal, I don't want to deal with it at 70mph+ driving a semi.

I'll be gutting the rda, with pictures, but I'm open to ideas on what caused the repeated issue.

Usually, if my ohm reading is jumping around, it's caused by over of the posts coming loose...... Check your post screws

That was my first thought, when the first build crashed i tightened the screws till they nearly snapped the 22ga. I'm thinking positive insulator since the positive post spun once already.

Thanks for the reply, I'll keep you posted. Hope I can figure it out, the rda almost matches flavor of the plume veil and production of the mutation x

my newest goblin build. i'll ended doing another one as this one isn't a top notch build as i was just playing around with a new idea.

quad slanted nano coil(1.2mm ID), 28 gauge, 10 wrap. came to .4 ohm
any1 who has a goblin knows the build deck is tiny, so it was quit the challenge figuring out how to fit everything(coil, wick, and room for airflow.)

sry i didn't do a pic of it firing. but it works pretty nice. i thought that i was going to have a problem with my wicking method but its spot on. no leaking and no dry hits.

01. Straightened 3 strands of A1 kanthal: of 26g, 28g, and 30g
02. Twisted 28g w/ 30g clockwise
03. Flattened the 28g/30g twisted wire
04. Reverse twisted that with 26g
05. Flattened 3 strand twisted wire
06. Wrapped that Clapton / Flat Bast*rd style w/ 28g ribbon

Dual coil: 2mm inner diameter in Mutation X v1. .25 ohms.

Pretty damn ugly but it chucks the flavor.

OverOne build. Yeah, I scrunched my coils a bit while tweezering them, but it still works great. REALLY diggin' this dripper. Flavor is a notch below my Magma clones, but I really like the feel of the airflow. Plus the fact that it can be closed down completely to allow for easy transport while juiced up is great.
Dual coils, around .45Ohms.
