I've been thinking of doing a parallel build with different lengths of wire: let's say one of the coils wool have 4 wraps and the other 3 (ending one wrap sooner than the other) will the coil behave as a single mass or will I get the shorter one heating faster than the longer?
Just to clarify I'm doing a single parallel not dual...
My Claptons seem to take either to long to heat or are too small for what I'm aming for on a mech

yeah 4 strands inside, good idea. or slide a bunch of ribbon inside...

btw the last build i posted was 0.08ohms, she drinks the juice and drains the batteries even quicker hahahaa i think i might have to turn my back on her ^_^

Hey G nice build, good choice on atty mate, are you liking it? :)

Yea the atty is nice. Holds tons of juice but that goes away real quick. I just had to get my cloud chasing fixin' with some DIY juice I made just for that ;). Finally can crank out those claptons in no time.

Gonna try that stapled helix with flat ribbon.

Here's a build since I haven't posted one in a while but remained active on this thread lol. Just a 28g N80/36g KA1 dual fused clapton 9 wrap 2.5mm ID. At around 0.3 ohms and 55-60 watts on a regulated mod, I think I've found the sweet spot as far as balancing flavor, vapor, and power consumption IMO. On my TM rda.

I know what you mean about the juice guzzling  i love it!

edit: maybe we can rig up a hat with a 100ml bottle upside down like a drip straight in somehow to save me a job

Looks great! I've been meaning to pick up some 28ga n80 to try this as my go to has been fused 26/36n80

Yeah that was my go to for a while as well but I've been experimenting on trying to cut down on juice consumption. Using 28 and increasing the wraps lets me bring the resistance up allowing me to use around 10 less watts which theoretically I guess allows me to go through less juice. The flavor is still on point like a 7-8 wrap with 26g as the core. If I had ended up with more wire I would have done 10 wraps. I'll try 10 wraps next.

Vapero,

What wires are you using for the claptons? Any Nichrome 80 wires to use as the core or wrapping? Since they are lower at ohms it might help you heat up faster than regular A1 on A1.

I did a 30 gauge core with 32 to wrap it ohm at 2.2 lol.
I'm using ud premade Clapton's (I know I'm cheating ;)) so 26/32 kanthal I don't have the time nor the interest to do Clapton's for the time being

I see some amazing builds in here :thumb:

This is the first dripper I've had since an Igo-L I had a couple of years ago that I only built once.
I used KFLs & R91s for 4-6 months but haven't really built any coils since my first Nautilus. Then OCCs.

Simple 24g A1 @ .35Ω is nice at 85W and a little spitty over 90 but hot as .... over 100
These wicks have sopped up about 30ml so far and it still tastes better than new.

Is that a spot of rust on the right post hole in the first pic? Any other glaring issues?

Looks great! they spit a lot when they are well juiced, i tend to drip 12 drops vape 3 toots and repeat, 12 drops dont saturate my wicks so less spit, your build will be slightly different as we wont have the exact same amount of wick or the same drops.

The rust color you pointed out could be from your screws by the looks of things

I'm gonna pull the arched Claptons out of my Sapor today, only having 5 wraps on each coil is really killing my batteries at a rate of 2 hours each...and they're all VTC4's....any recommendations on what to build in its place? I have a kumihimo loom on the way in the mail so I can't quite use that yet, but I'm open to suggestions!

Aww c'mon bro. You have to give it a try. Once you get going they are easy to make. ;)

Your probably using A1 on A1 and it'll take a bit to heat up on a mech. You try a VV/VW device? :thumb:

What post holes are you using? Maybe one of us can send you one :D
Thanks man! I appreciate it but I live in mexico so shipping won't be an option, to expensive!

I broke my drill a few months back and I can't justify to myself to get one just for making claptons, once I need to get one I'll definitely try to make them by myself.
I haven't owned a VW device since 2013 and don't plan to anytime soon. that build I made has the best taste I've ever experienced and the ramp up time is perfect on a mech

Hey jj nice build but do you find now your building up more heat then you were with less wraps and more power?
I'm not sure I understand slippy. If I'm using more wraps and less power, wouldn't I be building up less heat? Are you referring to residual heat or increased ramp up time? Or are you referring to the actual heat of the vape?

Hi guys. Newbie here. i posted these pics of my build in new members area but not much responses. 0.4ohm 28g 5 wraps 2.5mm. built on subtank mini. i prefer this than the original single coil built over the airhole.. what do you guys think? over airhole or no? some pros and cons of both would be appreciated. thanks!
