I'll call my buddy and find out and get the friend price on it for you. Maybe getting 2 will lower the price (subtle hint).
That'd be awesome. Gotta wait a month or so before I get it or my girl will freak out lol

Does polishing offer any advantage?

It might slightly raise the resistance as you're filing away a top layer of wire but other than that it just looks sweet.

Hieveryone, I'm acomplete noobtotheworld of rebuilding, but I have a quickquestion...

I see some of you have wire that is braided, and many other cool designs. Do you guys buy the coils that way or design them yourselves? If the latter, what purpose does it serve and how difficult is it/how Much timedoes it take?
Thanks

The braided stuff we make by hand, some stuff takes 5mins other stuff maybe 20+ mins depending on how fast you are or how many times youve done it. You can even take like 3 strands of say 32g kanthal and braid them as a person would hair and then the finished artical works as one wire but with more surface area and greater flavor, faster heat up than a single wire of equiv.
Youtube is your friend you can also look at BuildMode VerteBraid and Braidators for some more advanced stuff :)

EDIT: I see some nice builds by everyone! keep up the good work! :)

Thankyou !!

I find the whole vape culture very exciting. I'm interestedto see how things are in 10 or 20 yearswith the way technology is exponentially advancing

I've been at this a while and it has been quite a ride. Anyone else remember the launch of the Provari? The Darwin?

I had to make 28/34g aliens for my Petri, cause 3 strands of 26g is not a fun task to fit lol. I paralleled it with a single strand of 24g N80. I made 2 of each, the other is a 2 strand 26g N80 core with a 32g N60 alien & 36g N80 stitch parallel to 24g KA1. Both are 6/5 wraps. I want to go single coil through the posts on my hobo with the stitched alien. I'm gonna do that when my cotton burns out probably today.
As for working coil set up, I just put this on my holy grail: dual 26g N80 8 wraps each on a 2.5mm bit -

I should make it quads but I'm lazy lol

Edit. I made quads.

Braiding a simple 3 loop vertebraid is quick to pick up. It's just a repetitive motion. All braids are a repetition, but some like the 5&7& specialty braids will take a while. For me a regular Clapton will take about 5 minutes. Fused Clapton will take about 10-15 minutes from straightening wires to coiling them up. Aliens and arched Claptons take more time because there is more work involved. Twisted wires are super quick as well. It all depends on the build & the gauges for me.
