@Btsmokincat ..
But there is something I totally do not understand.. i DON'T as a parent understand your KIDS being angry at you and giving you the silent treatment.
Who is raising your kids, who is teaching them right from wrong? You? If you then I would suggest actually teaching them, and actually raising them. For real.
I broke my back and had a series of back surgeries, and I had very serious nerve damage after that which is exceedingly painful, constant, incurable, and for the rest of my life.
The doctors needed to be able to give me pain medicine that was strong as a result, yet was easier on my liver and other internal organs since my need to take pain medicine was going to be long term.
There was a new experimental medicine at that time available, it was called oxycontin. I began taking it orally as prescribed, and it was helpful. It gave me my life back in many ways as it gave me the ability to deal with the pain of physical therapy, helped lessen the pain enough for me to sleep at night, and in general gave me the ability to live a more normal life, as I could do more than lay in bed and cry.
Well, one evening years future we were all sitting and watching the news, they did a program where they talked about oxycontin and the fact it was now being called hillbilly ......, that it had street value, and drug addicts were abusing the drug.
Well my kids and I watched the program, every single one of us in shock, and when the segment was over both my kids turned their heads simultaneously and looked at me.. my daughter spoke first she said.. omg mom your a drug addict, then my son piped up with, omg your medicine has street value! That makes you drug addict.
Of course, as a parent I explained to them the difference between a drug addict and someone who takes medicine as prescribed by their doctor, and reminded them why I needed to take pain medicine.
This was teaching.. they heard what I said and accepted it as truth.. why? Because I raise my children, and taught them. Certainly I think it made all of us look at my medicine differently than any of us had ever looked at it before, and my son handily calculated the street worth.. (lol) and declared all our money problems solved (to which I said no way in hell and we all laughed)
But.. this is how you raise your kids. My kids would never have stopped talking to me, nor would they ever have not talked to me about their concerns with anything.. we were a family, we talked, we discussed, I taught and I raised my own kids. Not the t.v... not the government, not anything nor anyone but me..
So.. I just don't understand your problem, not even a little bit. When a question about vaping came up, you should have addressed it then in a teaching environment.
