Prodigy: Extra switches avaliable?

Hi Steve,
Congratulations on the success of the Prodigy! Seeing as its such a hit, I'm finally convinced of its workmanship. Before I place my order, however I wanted to know about the availability of the switches. From what I've seen, the actual switch assembly holds the resistor/diode. What I'd like to have is the ability to use an unregulated (but protected) 18650 @ its full 3.7V, for use with a M401, then swap out the switch to use 2 16340s @ 5V on a 901 or penstyle atty. If this can be done, I'm sure that other people who ordered the original configuration or people who ordered the revised may be interested in purchasing additional regulated/unregulated switches.

hmm give steve a lil bit of time and im sure he will start to think about selling different switch configurations. I mean right now he is not even fully caught up with all the orders he has. not to mention all the pass thrus as well.
Im willing to bet that in a month or two he will probably have the option up to by different switch configurations as well

Thanks Rsngforce. Although a pot will give the user more control, i can see how it would adversely effect both cost and production, however from what i've seen different atomizers function better at differing voltages. With the addition of what seems like an adapter for every popular atomizer, we are going to need a way to vary voltages. Another way of accomplishing (and one i was toying around with) this would by throwing a resistor inline with the adapter, that way one will always have the best voltage when using a specific adapter.

If any one likes the idea of user replaceable switches please feel free to reply to the thread, and I'm sure Steve with find some way to appease us!

When deciding between the resistor or non-resistor version of the Prodigy, having a second switch never occured to me... but now that I have the Prodigy (resistor version) and see how easy it is to remove the switch, assuming the non-resistor version is the same switch without the resistor (?) this seems like something that would be GREAT to be offered for versitility...

I would buy one. I would have stuck with the original configuration if it had been 3.7V/5V instead of the 3.7V/6V.

I'm still waiting for my Prodigy, but I can imagine getting a 3.7 volt version, or better yet a "switchable switch". There might be times when having a super long lasting battery would outweigh the benefits of higher voltage.

You say that now but i dunno i can tell you the 5 volts is pretty nice ...
Just for fun i poped back on a 801 battery to my atomizer the other day just to compare... the best hit i got from it was the weakest hit i got from my prodigy.
Not that versatality isnt nice but i think it might be hard to ever go back to 3.7 after doing the 5 volts.
Oh and btw i do agree about having a couple of different switches available. It really would make the prodigy a pretty versitile and modular design.

I was thinking the 3.7 might be better for the 510s, but I plan to use an 801 w/cart in the car which was a big part of buying the Prodigy. So 5V definitely for that as I always use my 801 on PT. I already have the 18650s, so you know I will just have to try them with the 510s. All my 510 batts are pretty old now, so who knows. It may work and I may not see a difference.

I have thought about selling switches outside of Prodigy's, but am in the air on it ....

I would likely only sell assuming you purchased the Prodigy, not to outside sources.

I don't regret sticking with the original design at all... I needed the ability to use an 18650 for longer battery life.

I haven't tried 6v yet... waiting for batteries to arrive. 7.4v is too hot!

LOL .... You are probably looking at closer to 8v (no load) with 2 3.7v batts

Once caught up, I will go ahead and sell switch housings separately ... so you can use 3.7v/6v+ or 5v+ without having to purchase an entirely new Prodigy.

I was thinking about it, but is there really a need? It wouldn't represent what 95% (or higher, I'm guessing) of the folks out there would be buying. It would be a physical representation, but the performance would be completely different...

{edit} duh... if the switches become available... I'm tired. Never mind.
