Our elusive president had to work finally because he was 86ed from the golf course labor day. Poor guy was devastated to find out everyone didn't think he was as great as he thought of himself.
510 fusion? How about a little option buddy. Everything you have is 510 and folks are waiting on the 801 Mega punched. JMORight on guys! I'm so glad to hear your loving them!
We sold out of the standard size Punched models, but I do have a few reserves to go up. The unpunched version didn't really move surprisingly enough.
We're going to have the Punched go back into production to keep a steady stock and now focus on the 510 Fusion while we wait for the RY4 to come in.
Going to have to try with the drip guard/grommet/inner doo hickey, getting some really bad flooding with some 50/50 juice in an IBtank.
I'm using the 2.5 ohm Platinum K (standard size) in IBTanked tanks and I also had issues with flooding at first. Whenever my tank drops below 2/3 full, my carto floods. Very annoying, but I was able to resolve the issue by sliding the carto down until the holes were outside the tank, then blowing through my drip tip very hard to get all the excess juice out (I blow the juice back into the bottle so it doesn't go to waste). I then filled the tank up 100%, slid the carto back up into the tank, and it works perfectly until it gets down to 2/3 full again. Kinda sucks only being able to vape a third of a tank before having to re-fill it, but the vapor and flavor are good. I just make sure to keep the tank topped off and/or switch to one of my other tanks when it drops below the tipping point.
For what it's worth, this doesn't happen with the Nitro single-punch cartos until the tank is damn near empty.
Edit - I am not using the grommet / juice blocker, either. Tried using it - no change.
Anarchy, you put the liquid that's been used (translate: heated and reheated) back into your fresh liquid bottle? I have a "thing" about that. I wouldn't, but that's me. I believe the liquid in motion goes thru physical changes by the constant heating and cooling process, and also has interactive contact with a coil that is becoming "used" (gunked up and caramelized and crusted). For me that's not something I'd want to contaminate fresh liquid.
Also, from my knowledge of karto tanks, it seems to work best to leave some air space at the top for the vacuum effect (negative pressure and all that scientific jazz). I wonder if perhaps you'd try it with a little more air space to see if the leaking still occurs?
I normally vape a karto tank down to the bone. I can vape it with zero extra liquid in the tank as there's still that mil (or so) in the karto itself.
Like 17 cents there.![]()
Haha, I appreciate your 17 cents!
I vape organic / all natural juices from very large bottles. I agree that the juice probably goes through some sort of chemical change when it's subjected to the coil in the carto, but having to blow juice back into the bottle is so rare I personally believe it won't hurt anything. In fact, I can't remember the last time I had to do this, as I hadn't had a floodeded carto in quite some time. Either way, I convince myself that once the bottle is shaken up whatever small amount of yuck was in the carto will have minimal effect on the large amount of clean liquid left in the bottle.
As far as the amount of air at the top of the tank (or to 5card's point about flooding), I don't want to turn this into a negative comparison of one carto vs. another...but I don't experience the issue at all with Boge / Smoktech cartos, nor with the single punch Nitro cartos from Ikenvape. I can vape a tank until it's empty, or at least until the liquid drops below the holes and I start to get dry hits once in a while. I tried swapping out my o-rings and washers on my IBTanked end caps, but the issue persists on more than one tank (I have 6).
I tend to chain vape a few times throughout the day (on breaks at work, etc). I don't know much about physics, but my guess is that the tank drops below 2/3 full, I heat the liquid up a lot and it thins out a little, then the air pressure that's built up at the top of the tank pushes too much juice into the carto and I start getting gurgling. I'm assuming - based on my limited testing thus far - that the issue is due to the size of the holes in the Platinum K punch, because I don't have any issues with dual / single punch cartos with smaller holes.
This is especially strange considering I'm using 100% VG juice. It's pretty thick. There is always the possibility that I'm doing something wrong here (it's happened before), but I'm pretty experienced with carto tanks. In any case, the vapor / flavor of the Platinum K makes it a worthwhile inconvenience to top off a few tanks once a day. I'm thoroughly enjoying them so far.![]()
Welp, you may just know more about kartos than I! (and if so..... I want some change back.)
Isaac, I'd be interested in your take since you are in fact the karto master. Like you, Anarchy, I am not interested in any negative comparisons, but perhaps Isaac can enlighten us as to the differences between various other kartos and why you might be having probs with this particular style.
When you chain vape, are you hitting it with short, hard pulls, or long slow drags? I do recall that info from long ago in terms of dealing with a flooded or leaky/gurgly karto. The short, hard pulls are going to pull even more liquid into the karto, so the trick was to remember to do long, slow pulls instead.
I'm prolly preachin' to the choir, tho, right?![]()
I bet the hole is just a tad too big.
So I bought 20 of these.
I'm no newbie to carts. I am somewhat of an Iken fanboy (wrote a really favorable review on the nitro).
But these things, I won't buy again. After about 4 pulls, the cart floods, juice all over my provari. You can see bubbles coming into the tank like a .... whenever you take a hit. *way* too much flow.
