I don't really care about this argument and what angst it could create, but the P3 is VV/VW. It very could be that a U.S. VW patent would not be applicable where payments would be required. Don't know, I'm not a patent attorney, a rocket scientist, PCB specialist or an engineer.

If 2 US companies worked out an agreement, terrific!

It's not really an argument, it's a significant business consideration. Evolv and Provape are two major players in the US vape manufacturing industry. While it's difficult to sue Chinese makers directly to prevent infringement, an infringing US company would be very easy to go after. One would think Provape isn't stupid enough to just infringe on a patent, but you never know. US distributors of infringing Chinese products definitely ARE stupid enough.

I have a question DavidOH.... Who comes into threads marked PROVARI V3 and does not own nor intend to own one? Then talks about how they like their PV just fine? Take that elsewhere with your nonsense... If you don't own one and don't intend to own one you should carry on about your business in another thread. This one is clearly titled PROVARI v3 which clearly negates your presence since you do not own nor intend to own a PROVARI v3... For all of us who own them we know why we own them and that we are very likely to buy again.. This thread is for us not you
And the debate begins. Do I have a Provari? Nope never wanted one and still don't. The people that do want one more power to you. Good luck getting one. I like my XPV DNA30 just fine.

Same as the guy who keeps talking about his beloved Danny in all the ProVari threads and the troll who thinks he's a recording artist... Oh, and the guy from the UK who always says, "It's a nice battery holder..."

That ish don't belong in this place! I for one have one each of every PROVARI (no provapes) and can't wait for the next one! I was going to have one powdered or something just to get that new gear feel until the next one came out... Soon! :D

You definitely should get a ProVape-1 to round out the collection, while they are still available. I love mine...

I know brand loyalty has value, but I'm surprised to see so many people defending the new provari, especially when considering their likely price-point range.. If this was a new device being announced for any other company, I'm pretty sure they'd be laughed out of the room. I'm pretty noob, but I know the point is that it isn't just another company and quality blah blah quality (and I have used provaris before)... but my question is: is there something special about the provari chip or is it the rest of the hardware? Could/should provari focus on the mods and use a 3rd party chip (or modifying said chips)? ...or am I missing something? Because it kind of feels like if apple was to sell the ipad as a competitor w/ laptops, but charged twice as much... quality or not.

I don't know how much they propose to release for, then how much they will go for after initial product offering... But I will buy it! Its about the quality... The weight of fine stainless in your hand, not like the cheap stuff I used from volcano prior! I came from infernos then to the various offerings of lavatube both "real" and "clone"... But I'll try to stay on topic....

The threads of the tube, flawless! And the cap gets removed daily to swap batteries and 1 year later still smooth as the day I got it!

The tube, beautiful! The machining that goes in to the tube is something they put there for the metallurgic purverts.

The board, it does what its supposed to time and time again over and over all day long! No it doesn't have raw discharge rates that compare to a mech mod... But I have not found the amp limit to affect my vapes in any way! I vape between 7 and 9 watts... We can't set the devices by wattage as of current... But if you know math and ohms law you can do it just fine without.

Customer support.... Now this right here is the bees knees! The staff at provape are awesome! When my board broke (my fault) they were awesome about getting me fixed up. They do repairs on devices in and out of warranty, respectively. Not like volcano where they 1 for 1 swap out since their devices are so cheap but they are also stupid about it. They said to me that my warranty on my lava tube was void because I put a sticker on the tube! That's absurd! Provape will repair your existing device and not just sub it out. I prefer to do my own work which is actually how the first board broke. I disassembled my unit to polish the tube and dropped the board and the firing button broke. They sent me a new board and I had the board in my hands before I even finished polishing the tube. And it made for a good opportunity to change the led color as well since I was already getting a new board anyways.

I would order both the zombie and still get the v3! You know what... Since I quit analogs in Aug of 2011 I haven't saved a single dollar! All my "saved" money not smoking analogs, has been "reinvested" in vape gear... And I'm ok with that! Im sure there are others that feel the same way
I was about to order the zombie provari you guys think I should wait for the p3? vw doesnt mean alot to me yet but I could see my self buying a z atty one day

Right now I am using a itaste vv with a aspire mini natilus. The itaste is 5 weeks old and barely holds a charge

Evolv owns the patent to VW.

They have a patent on how their chip controls VW.... VW devices have been around for a long time before evolv or ecigs & I seriously doubt that provape chip is a copy in any way of the evolv chip so their patent would not apply in any way.

Yes, you are missing the entire point of ProVape and ProVari. Go to YouTube and search for the P. Busardo tour of ProVape and you will understand.

Preeeeeetty sure provape has officially stated that they were not working with evolv. Can't recall if that was a Facebook post or an interview.

Then again not sure if "working with" include some kinda licensing deal.

Also not sure if evolv's patent on VW refers specifically to a mode of control/implementation, or just VW in general.
