Exactly Chris. We keep chuggign along in the middle of the night, tending to the forum in unprecedented fashion, innovating as much as we can, involving all of our custoemrs in a very intimate way. To be honest some of that hate gets downright creepy.

They have no idea the hours and hours spent dealing with china, working through a language barrier, trying to communicate our ideas and provide up to the minute feedback on what is working and what is not and suggesting direct improvements that are _directly_ added to a product simply because WE (not another vendor) took the time to care and did so. Most of the products that so many other vendors carry now are as a result of GOTVAPES frontiering the product and them observing and then jumping on the bandwagon. And that is OK but for goodness sakes, some of these people ought to grow up :O

That thread in the New Members forum is indeed suspicious and it is beign looked in to. A good mod can access and cross-reference IP addresses.

most likely but who knows, the thread title and the post and post count all smell fishy, lol, i love how they lie just to troll, everyone knows by now how influential we where with the ce2 changes and many of our loyal posters where part of that revolution, everyone knows we worked with betterlife on phoenix improvements, everyone knows we helped with the nova, we named it for gods sake with the help form our helpers in the contest thread, and so much more, vision thanks us on their site and everyone knows this, microcig thanks us for all our help on their site right now and so do others, when we say we help improve products then its a fact that anyone can call the factory and ask, plain and simple. Some people rather spread lies but the truth is always more powerful. We have consistantly worked on products and improve them and like i said no one will ever say otherwise, no one has seen a factory dispute this claim, thats why we are famous.

Its a dual effort of Chris and I but mostly Chris on the frontiering of products. I assist that in supporting roles but Chris really has an amazing passion, he's dangerous when he gets bored : )

I appologize Chris, I was talking about Got Vapes as a company, not just Danno. Thank you too!!

You really need a 5v/2amp adapter for this PT. Look at what it says on your adapter :)

yiddle said this and i agree

""You really need a 5v/2amp adapter for this PT. Look at what it says on your adapter "", which reminds me to get usb wall plugs in for you guys and gals.

Then that would be the problem - The adapter I'm using says output: 5.0 500A

I guess it shows what little I know - Unless it's being used as a charger, I just assumed that it was simply an adapter so if it fit, I figured it would work.

I have one I use for my Kindle but it doesn't have any info on it, so unless I can find another one I'll swing by Radio Shack tomorrow and get the right kind.

But, hey, this is good news...this is one sexy little PT that I really want to use, so now that I know it's just user error I'm

Try the kindle charger....I think it was Briar that said the Nook one worked for her. Can't imagine there is much difference in their specs.

Yiddle said this and then Bad did, and I agree. Take note, Kwalka. 500 volts, 2amps or bust. I just plugged in one of my 5v 0.5a adapters that came with an ecig kit and though it would light up, there wasn't any vapor produced. The two amp adapter is boss. Amazon has them at ten bucks or less. Here's the one I'm using

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005R5FKVW/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00

Great price, works perfectly.

Okay Bad, Danno. I got paid 40 bucks today for making a logo larger and adding categories to a website. Where's my toys!

I swear I didn't charge that much, they insisted.

Ego lanyard ring goes around the button. So it slips on before the, say stardust, then the only thing exposed is the button itself. You put your stardust or whatever on, and it holds the clip and lanyard in place I cannot link to this here. BTW there is a clip that allows the lanyard to be released from the clip if so desired w/o removing the stardust or whatever you have on the batt at the time. I owned 1 of these and it went everywhere w me. I never dropped my eGos.

Thats the one for sure. She hung around my neck for months, I'd know her anywhere.

Disclaimer: I had just begun to discover GV proior to the Alpha program. So I have not learned the inventory thru and thru ...YET. Unfortunately I spent over $500 at another vendor, who will remain nameless, as they don't deserve a name. They proved to me that they dont care about the individual, and one loss is no biggie because in their eyes they have many.
I am so pleased w the service I have received from GV, that Alpha or none they had me.

Honolulu, Hi
Dang this thread has came a LONG way LOL! Definitely not a thread lingerer much these days but definitely gonna try to do my job as an Alpha :) Anywho, time to drop another set of thoughts on the passthrough.

The design is nice!

What works well:

-Lightweight
-Small form factor
-No problems with changing settings
-Good connection

What can be improved:

-Button: feels so dinky and weak. Also too easy to press on mine that i occasionally have it firing in my hand on accident. Not a huge deal, but a stronger button would be better.

-Setting changing: Dislike how you have to keep pressing the that many times for a setting. It also resets to the lowest setting if ever it loses power. Would be better to implement separate buttons for going up or down in setting to lengthen the life of the firing button and for convenience.

-Cord Durability: The cord is good but the problem I have with it is where it connects to the device. it doesn't seem strong enough to withstand an accidental tug. Maybe implement something like in most cords where there is a small guard to limit flexing and tug damage where the cable meets the connector of stuff like plugs or usb cables.

-Length of Cord: The cord is a little under 4 feet. maybe extend the cord to 5 or 6 feet as I think that length gives the passthrough more flexibility on where one can use it comfortably.

-Colors of settings: The colors are VERY misleading. Most are used to blue/green being low setting while purple/red being higher. I would suggest changing the order of colors as it reduces the risk of people accidentally putting too much voltage to their carto/atty and popping a coil because they forgot what voltage the color really is.

-On/Off: Refer to the separate buttons for voltage setting. It'll free up the firing button to keep the usual ego style on/off.

Good but could be bad?:

-Connection pin: I found mine to be pretty high. I try to screw on stuff and it only takes a full turn too make contact. I personally dont have a problem with it as it still works and I prefer it that way but maybe backing it up just a touch would be better. With so little turns to get the atty/carto on the PT, there is a higher chance of something maybe unscrewing itself and falling. Not a problem if you screw it down hard but dont want to chance maybe pushing it too far and screwing up the pin.

The Interesting Flaw:

-Voltage Readings:

-Blue(1st): 2.7 to 2.8 - NOT GOOD
-Purple(2nd): 3.5 to 3.6 - Good
-Red(3rd): 4.1 to 4.2 - Good
-Green(4th): 4.8 +- 0.1 - Good

---Judging by the readings, they were more off the lower you put the settings. Not a problem for me as i'm a HV vaper but for those who want the ego voltage, it's a bit hard IMO. Keep in mind that these readings are UNLOADED readings so I can't tell you how much of a drop there is when it is under load.

Other ideas:

-Full varivolt: Imagine implementing the ego twist or other technology in this passthrough! Oh the joys of enjoying true VV without the battery changes. Putting true VV into this PT would definitely increase the cost of it, but shouldn't be by too much i think. It would probably also make it a bit bigger but shouldn't be much bigger since there wont be a battery compartment.

It was my bad for even replying to that thread esspecially when she showed and started giving her opinion. I know better. But.... I guess I was just trying to help out a newbie. I guess I better keep my .... in this forum. I just hate to see bashing for no reason but I should have seen it was a troll

There is a poster who is touting one vendor (unnamed here) that hits all the newbie threads. Maybe he/she has no connection to the vendor, but he/she keeps recommending a crappy starter setup to people who are asking what they should use to take the next step from a gas-station cig. He/she insists that anything more than a cig-style battery from X supplier is unneeded and unreliable. The sad thing is some people buy into the BS. Drives me crazy, but I am not one to raise a stink.

I wonder if its possible that I'm not putting enough power to the PT? If it wasn't for the discrepencyies in the light actions I may lean towards this. I just ordered a a/c powered USB hub so I can put proper power to things like this. I am getting pretty well experienced with middle level PVs like this PT, and my gut tells me its def off.
Ken

EDIT: Well experienced but by no means an electronics professor or even undergrad for that fact.

In regards to the pin, mine wasn't too high. I didn't feel any resistance when screwing my cartos on. The night before last, it had actually gotten pushed in too far to connect to my Phoenix 3ml and I had to pull it up a bit. I was kind of surprised by how easy it was to pull up, by the way. Maybe a little too easy? Normally, I can't really see if I'm making any progress when I try to lift the pin on a regular battery, but this one was moving plain as day. I still don't understand how pins get pushed down on some batts and not others when I'm using the exact same cartos on them.

As for the voltage readings, I'm a little amazed. 2.7-2.8??? That definitely doesn't apply to mine. I get more vapor, warmth and whatnot out of this thing at its lowest voltage than I do on my regular eGo battery at full charge using the 2.4-2.6 ohm Phoenixes. May I ask what kind of power the adapter/USB put out that you used? When I did my test last night using an old ecig charging adapter that was 5 volts and .5 amps, there was almost no power getting to this thing. I got vapor at the lowest setting, but it was so little that I almost didn't even see it, much less taste or feel it.
