as for the cartos, they look like filler cartos, so I was curious if that is the case. I don't think its picky asking for a description?
Everything I've read & heard about the included cartos is pretty negative. Just something to include to make a 'complete' kit. YMMV... One e-tailer is just tossing them & including 'better' cartos instead.

The alpha price is comparable to my MV VV box mod (which didn't include batts, charger, or cartos). A plus for me is that it has 'click' voltage adjustment instead of a dial pot and an LCD power meter... I'm still pondering putting one in my cart.

Yeah for Taxes Shipping I have my heads and in only 3 days <3

Yay! Got some scorpions. Dont' see a wick on them--how do they work? (Guess I'll find out!)

BTW, to confirm, are we not allowed to do video reviews on these?

You may do vids, with constructive criticisms.....no bashing of GV or disrespectful slamming of the product (if that makes sense;)) Also need to make sure the message gets across that these are not regular products available to the general public and are in Alpha testing stage, or something like that.

Also, didn't notice a response to RockinRobbieSF, but are we allowed to review these publicly provided the disclaimer that it's an alpha test that may not be generally available to the public is in place?

Basically the above.....you may post vid reviews on youtube and this thread, but not anywhere else. All written reviews are to be confined here in this thread.

so since the rockets are 18350 batteries. does that mean you can use any 18350 batteries? I got 4 for use in my mini lavatubes, so I assume I could use those in the rocket as well?

yes and no....I have a separate set of the 18350 that are just a tad too long to fit. I have a set that came with my gripper, and they work just fine. I am unsure which come with the lavatube, so I am not sure if they will be too long or not. The set that I have that are too long, came from MV. The AW's however (from what I've been told) fit just right.

The image shows a wick peeking out of the hole at the bottom of the center tube. Look closely...

I, for one, hope they don't change the form factor on the Twist - and leave it just as it is, diameter-wise. That's part of it's charm. Fatter would make it just another tubular mod looking thing - booooooooring. LOL The skinnier the better, I say. Even if it is looooooooooooooong. There is plenty of fat looking mods out there already. Just MO. :)

Ah, but why couldn't there be regular Twists AND XL Twists? The XL could be fatter (larger diameter), say like 3/4" to more closely match the diameter of most tanks. The regular Twists have a diameter of roughly 9/16", the XL could be 12/16" (3/4")!

FWIW the VV Rocket has a diameter of 14/16" (7/8") so an XL Twist would still be svelter (yes, that is a word! Svelter Definition, Definition of Svelter, Anagrams, and words that start with Svelter) than most mods (it'd be the exact same diameter as the Chameleon, which IMHO is the PERFECT diameter, as if a PV is too thin, it runs the risk of becoming less comfortable in the hand).

Personally, I wish APV makers would go away from the long skinny look. Heck, take a 1000mah Twist, put on a Phoenix with drip tip, and the thing is friggin' LONG!!! (I'm not sure exactly how long since my 1000mah Twist is in-the-air right now, but I know my 650mah with Phoenix is bordering longer than I'd like.)

Rather than make batteries/cartos/tanks LONGER to increase capacity, I'd rather see them increase the diameter! (up to a point, I think the 26650's are getting too large in diameter) Better yet, put the battery along side the carto/tank (like the Sidecar) and the whole unit becomes completely palmable!

Give me 900+mah, vv/vw, capacity to hold 3+ml, and make it no more than 5" long and I'd LOVE it (the Gripper comes close as it's a very nice size and with carto is 5" long, but the circuitry of it could be better and ideally be a boost circuit so as not to have to stack batteries)! Heck, the 18500 version of the Sidecar I made with standard driptip is only 3-1/2" x 2" x 1" and fits PERFECTLY in the hand! It could hold a 7-8ml tank (if one was made that size) and the 18500 battery will last most people all day. Or, in that same size package put in an 18350+Kick type circuitry! An 18350 is roughly 900mah, though any boost circuitry will hamper runtime. I just held my Twist and 2 other Twist diameter items together and they're about 1" in diameter total. I don't see why the Twist circuitry can't be combined with a 900+ mah battery in a form factor that's 3/4" in diameter and it could even be SHORTER than the 650 Twist!

For those without a Gripper, to understand the size I think is ideal, 2 tanks (Viva Nova, DCC, whatever as long as it's roughly that 3/4" diameter) and hold them side-by-side in your hand. IMHO THAT'S the ideal footprint for an APV! The Gripper itself is a hair under 3", if it had a flat bottom, used 1 18500 battery, had the Twists circuitry built in, and had a recessed carto/tank (so that only the drip tip, with removable cap, stuck beyond the 3" body) then I'd be in near heaven!

Mastiff - there are already lots of Mods like the Gripper, etc. Leave us our Twist in peace. lol It is the eGo Twist, after all, not the mod twist or the gripper twist or ... What you want is not a Twist, it's another mod with the same function as a Twist and about the same price. I'm sure there'll be lots of them shortly, in all shapes and sizes. Once Joye does it, everyone else with follow - and with lots of variations. The Twist really is a game-changer. And then everyone will be happy. :D

Meanwhile, consider this: some of us ladies (and some men) have small hands. For me, the Twist is absolutely perfect to hold, because I can hold it in the fist - or I can hold it in a more elegant and lady-like way, too. It's flexible that way. Plus, there is all kinds of accessories already available for an eGo shaped batt. Plus it looks better and more lady-like hanging on a lanyard - as opposed to a fatter tube. Really, the eGo is about as fat as I want for something tubular hanging around my neck. Think of the bad jokes. :D

And then there is a not-so-small matter of aesthetics. Yes, subjective, but some of us like the way it looks. And not at all because it's in any way cigarette-like. It's not. Not even a little tiny bit. I got a Provari to put my tanks on, but a Twist is perfect for a Stardust, ya know? It looks lovely.

Personally, as I've mentioned before, I have come to despise tubular fat, or even fatt-ish PVs. They remind me of several unmentionables. And they look clunky and unladylike to me. This Joye mod, the one GV just started selling? It has good functionality (though I'm so addicted to VV now, I wouldn't get it anyway), but to me, at this point, it's just not good-looking. It looks, at best, like a rocket, and at worst, like I said - unmentionable. That may be fine for you men, but...

So - just leave the Twist alone, would ya? It's my favorite PV hands down right now - well, after the iTaste, but iTaste is in a different category, really... :)

I know I haven't joined Alpha ( yet )... but...

They already have a basis for what you are asking/saying... the 18650 eGo-T MOD. In fact, I was suprised they didn't release a VV model of it already.

See? There ya go. Something for everyone. Me, I'd buy the extra-long skinny 510 if it was VV - I love those things, even auto. They are just pretty. Put a jewel that lights up at the end (they have some like that), and make it in cool elegant colors, and make it VV, and it would be my perfect elegant-party PV. Oh, add a cap, too. I think the Leos looked smashing, but they were still a tad fat.

I mean, perlescent color, like the Chamelion, with some nice, maybe etched, subtle design on the body, pretty stone end-caps, a practical cap to cover the clearo, thin like a 510, or, at most, like an 808, and long, so it gives the impression of being ''svelte", and, of course, the VV functionality and price - that's my dream PV.

But one could really get inventive with pretty PV designs: imagine something that looks, and is decorated, like a tree branch, for instance, and can hang around your neck on a nice lanyard like one of those oversized chunky pendants - now that's a PV for a lady. And if Chinese make it, it shouldn't be more expensive than the iTaste...

And, just in case anyone who qualifies as "powers that be" is reading this: silver metal (ss, brushed, whatever, as long as it's not "gold" - fake gold is gaudy).

So there. More power to the pretty stuff! :D

I totally like the colors...agree with ya there. I ordered a rocket today, and if I thought I would be keeping it long term, it would have been red. Since I'm thinking I will pass it on to my son-in-law eventually, I got the silver, as I'm sure he would think red was too gaudy...lol. My original KGOs were red. I have a silver and a black ProVari....but would have ordered a bright color if they had them.

I do differ with you on the long skinny PVs. I have pretty big hands...but they just feel flimsy to me. I like the feel of the ProVari Mini the best of anything I have tried...it just feels more "substantial" in my hand. The mini....topped with a clearo tank, especially the Vivi Nova is just about the perfect feel to me.

Everyone likes different things. :D But the Provari does look nice with the tank on it - tanks look silly on anything slimmer, imho. I don't have a Mini, but I do have the silver v1, and that's where my ViVis live. But I don't carry it around with me, that's strictly an at-home thing.

Hey, that second tank looks nice - real spacey-Star Treky. Bad - nudge the Vision folk in that kind of a direction, it's real cool.
