Has anyone had any connectivity issues with the Rocket? How are you all liking the setting of the connector?

I do with tanks as the connector is recessed slightly and seems like the bottom plate of the tank prevents it from being easily screwed down far enough. As previously mentioned though, it's easy enough to sand/shave off a little of the plastic that protrudes above the connector.

Otherwise the connector is in quite solidly, and the grooves in it prevent it from breaking free and spinning.

nail polish, translucent ones. it will darken it but still have the numbers readable

And you would know this how? Exactly what color are your toenails?

I'll have to raid the kids nail polish supply tomorrow, everyone's already asleep (and my kids keep their rooms MESSY!)

The manager of the casino a couple miles from my house stopped by yesterday to enquire about the lighting I have since it's outshines theirs. Of course, they've only got 10 of these whimpy things:

I have had my RED ROCKET for a few days now (thanks adrena)
& ce2's work great on it (as long as I use appro.voltages)
vision giant would NOT fire on it at all (@least the one I tried)
but I really wanted to use Stardusts....but the only adapter I have is 510 to 808.
Then I got lucky & came across a RED 808 stardust ...which showed up today ...
and it was a trick to get adapter to line up w/808 threads
but it has been working great since I got it on there .

So now I need to order an 510 to 510...maybe ???
I also ordered the scorpions & a vivi nova ..so no rush I guess.

Can't wait to try those ....I have so many things to play/vape with now ...:D
callin' for a happy piggy dance ...

Mastiff, are those side-by-side batteries? Of different size? Are they supposed to be in parallel or serial? This is going to look like that mod you made, right?

BTW, I almost hate to say this, but I am pretty sure I saw something like that for sale somewhere... Lemme see if I can find it...

Briar, they are SORT of side-by-side batteries. Really I just drew it that way to show that the total of 1000mah is doable in that size unit (it'd drawn to scale). I imagine that Joyetech can come up with a single battery shaped like that, that's 1000mah. Heck, put the circuitry, voltage adjustment, and button all on the connector side and then the longer side could be all 1 long battery. I'm not sure how long just the battery is in a 1000mah Twist (without the voltage adjustment, button, circuitry, etc.) but I'd bet it's real close to being 3" long!

Yep, he does GREAT work! But I'm STILL waiting for him to build me what I want!

As far as the 14500, I'd personally be willing to go with a larger diameter, I just drew it up as 5/8" to more closely match the Twist's diameter. And no, I'm not picturing it as having a removeable standard battery, but instead an ego type battery but in a different shape. (BTW, there is a longer than 50mm 14 series battery? AW makes a 14670, it's 1100mah)

Alright. Back. The Rocket did have connection problems for me, as someone stated, it was an easy fix.

Th thing that shocked me was that I really like this little device. The battery life has been great (9 1/2 hours at work, with hour long vaping sessions every other hour or so....with a few pulls in between), it doesn't seem to have a drop off point yet (still going strong), and it does well in my pocket at work. It is light, so it doesn't want to fall out of my pocket when I bend over a bit. It feels pretty good in my hand. It has done well with all I have thrown at it (2.0 Boge, Scorpion, 3.5 atty, fluxo's, micromizers, etc.). It is just a simple mod that performs. I am not a HV vaper, so I have not passed 4.5 for more than a try. I will break out the MM and see what it is actually putting out tomorrow.

The Scorpions have been a disappointment. No leaking, but poor wicking. I will mess with it tomorrow and see if I can fix the problem. I like the concept and design though. I just wish it worked well.

All right. Off to bed, I hope it don't die while I am taking my pre-sleep draws.

Nope Briar....you are not alone. I filled two of them yesterday (evening), and then left them all night (sitting upright). Vaping on them this morning, and getting nice easy draw, lots of vapor.....but very little flavor. No leaking at all, and haven't had a dry hit. I put a couple of pretty strong flavored juices in them to test after your previous comments.....pineapple upside down cake, and peppermint ice cream. Can't test the pineapple at all, and the peppermint, which is usually very strong, tastes kind of like mentholatum. Not getting any of the sweet notes on either of them. Hoping someone comes up with a fix for the flavor issue, as they work great other than that.....but "that" is a biggie.

Checked them on the ProVari...one measured 3.0, and the other 3.1. I've tried them on a KGO, and the ProVari, at various voltages. At 4.2, they started tasting burnt to me...but I'm pretty much a lower voltage person....usually don't take anything over 4.2.

I got my Scorpions yesterday and filled one up after work. Filled up the inside tube and added a few drops to the top "queen" wick. Let is sit for about 30 minutes or so and then took a vape. Great flavor and vapor on the first hit, but every hit after that I get those "warning" dryish hits. The only way to prevent it is to wait at least 5 minutes in between each vape.

They look great on my kGo with the outer thread cover and I haven't noticed any leaking what so ever. Love the screw off top and they are very easy to fill.

I'm going to use it today at work and see if I can break it in. Hopefully after a tank or so, I won't get the "warning" hits so often.

I have one DCT that doesn't seat and won't fire, but two other that do (???) I tried the Scorpion again last night and I just can't get a good vape from it. Think I'll take it apart today and poke around, see if there's anything I can do with it. As for the Rocket.. I used it all night at work (among the giggles of my co-workers... darn thing looks like a screwdriver!) What impresses me about this thing is the weight.. it's so light! It's perfect in the pocket of my scrub top. And the red is fabulous! The CE3s work really well on it, but I don't go much above 4.2 either. I need to get some higher ohm cartos and see what happens up at 5 or 6. Perhaps another try at a Vivi? I agree with Briar.. I love the idea behind the Scorpion but I have the same troubles I had with the Vivi.. it's hard to put up with the dry burnt hits on these clearo styles, when i can fill a plain ol carto and not have that problem. So the Scorpion,, not thrilled. The Rocket.. definitely thrilled!

For anyone interested, here's what is inside the VV Rocket:

IMG_0009.jpg

It looks like Bender "tossed his cookies"!

I was just thinking that for folks like me that have a vision impairment, the bright light would be a DEFINATE selling point!! With the the mods I have, unless I am in a dark room, I have difficulty seeing the readings...direct sunlight being the worst!!

So, even though I said I was going to quit for the night, I didn't - my curiousity really will be the end of me some day, I didn't go to bed until 6 am, and then couldn't fall asleep thinking about it...

Anyways, I noticed that laying it on its side, or just holding it at an angle while vaping, seems to improve the wicking. I guess it's a CE2, so that makes sense - I just didn't think that it would matter in this configuration for some reason, but I guess there is liquid inside the tube, so it does.

Just as a general comment, I'm kind surprised that not everyone seems to hold their PVs at a considerable angle while using TC clearos... It sort of seems intuitive to me, plus I actually find it more comfortable, that the latter is subjective, of course... But it sure seems to solve most wicking issues.

Little update on my scorpion. I took out that big queen wick and it seems to be performing WAY better. I've been using it for an hour or so and no dry hits, not even a hint of one. It's doing best at 3.8, anything much above that and the flavor changes, not for the good. It'll be going to work with me today so we'll see how it does.

I like the bright display on te rocket. My one complaint with the twist is those itty bitty numbers are very hard to see. The batteries died this morning and the display very clearly says "LO" so you know it's time to charge. Weird little charger but seems to be doing the job.
