Question about the rocket, Since it uses stacked batteries am I correct in assuming the voltage is subject to the charge left in the batteries? I had a joker av way back in the early days and the charge in the batteries was the max output. Thanks.

I'm no rocket scientist but since it uses stacked batteries, I believe it would always be able to hold the voltage given that 2 batteries in series would be 8.4 or 8.2 volts fully charged depending on the lithium chemistry being used and dead would be 7.2 or 7.4 s assuming you are using voltages in the 3-6 range, it should be able to hold. I believe it should be much better than the lavatube which uses one battery and needs to ramp the voltage up so it drains faster and faster as the battery discharges.

I LOVE the alpha program 'cos I get to just sit back and watch the show. Then, I can happily pay the extra later to get a more reliable product. It's a BIG win for this non-alpha type.

Thanks to all you intrepid alphas for doing this, and to GotVapes for letting the rest of us listen in.

I agree! I don't know enough to try to mod stuff etc, but I'm very glad us non alphas can stalk this thread. I've learned a lot from here.

received my rocket today..rocket fast shpping too.:2cool:
like others have said, this thing is way cooler in person than in the pictures..I told my girlfriend that if she liked it she could get one too and as soon as she saw it she wanted one..until I informed her of the gripper 2's pending release...tried one of the cartos that came with it..only good thing about it that I can see is you can turn the rocket up to 6v without it tasting too hot or burnt, other than that it just reminds me why I turned to fluxos after a few months of vaping and continue to vape fillerless...the vivi nova has found a nice home atop the rocket.

Well I got my Rocket today and must agree with everyone else, I was a bit skeptical about it from the pics on the site but now that it is in my hand I am liking it very much. I have two bolts one with the extender for the 18650, this Rocket is extremely light compared to them. I like the feel also, fits nicely in the hand the button sits perfect for the thumb to activate it as well. Did have some trouble getting various clearos to work with it at first, ended up shaving the top flush with the connector and seems to work much better now. Have the same concern many others have about the bottom cap lasting as it seems very flimsy but guess time will tell. Over all very impressed with the Rocket. Glad I joined the Alpha team!

I got brave and tore my Rocket apart today. YIKES! But it was so easy!! :D I cleaned all the juice out of the innards,, as much as I could see anyway, and there really wasn't very much. Followed the video, found some goop for around the connector and letting it dry overnight. I have a question though... when I got it apart there was a wire hanging down inside the tube. Anybody know what that is? And what happens to it when you shove the batteries up in there?? Is it supposed to be there?

There ought to be a wire that completes the circuit from the bottom cap... You could PM Mike.

Uh Oh.... I wonder if I screwed sumthin up??? One end of it was connected near the top of the tube, under the circuit board thing, and the other end was just kinda hanging there.. I guess I don't understand. How could it be connected to the bottom cap if you have to take that cap off to get at the batteries?

That black wire is soldered to the itty bitty gold tab at the bottom end where the cap screws on. Look at the power up/down buttons then follow a straight line to the bottom thread end. You'll see the gold tab.

I got my Scorpion tanks today. Am still trying to get the first one to wick. I have tried putting some juice in the center tube but all I am getting is a dry-burnt taste. Not sure if I want to ruin anymore juice testing the 2nd one. imo this product needs work before I would buy more. But, thanks for the op to try them out.

You can use a syringe to pull the juice out of the one that isn't working. I would do that and put that juice in a different one to see if it works. I am having good results with mine.

If you just want to let it sit and absorb juice without fiddling with it, you have to let it sit for a really, really long time. There is a lot of wick in there, and it takes several hours - you'll see the level of the juice in the tank go down by about a third by the time it's done.

IMO, if you try to hurry and saturate the wicks from the top - dripping juice in there - all it does is wet the top part, and you'll get a couple of good hits and then dry-city. I don't know why it works that way, but I think you really just have to let it sit - as long as overnight - to get good wicking performance out of these.

Try it with your second one - you'll see. You don't even have to keep it horizontal during this initial absorbing stage. I had mine vertical the whole time. It's amazing how much juice these wicks take up.

If you let it do that, you probably won't have any problems with wicking. And, judging from personal experience, do tilt. Don't know why, but it makes a difference between constant dry hits, and really good wicking. I really haven't had any serious dry hits with these. I seriously don't like the very (to me) muted flavor on these, and mine leaked in a couple of days (from the top, for some weird reason), but the wicking was one thing that definitely was not a problem - provided you let the wicks do their work.

Oh I didn't realize they were 3.7 batts. My devices that stack were always 3.0v batts. Makes sense.
