Hmmm... I certainly had no idea. I'm going to try and plug my old dongle ito one of those, and see if it works better...

P.S. Oh, and I declare our right to kiss face in the middle of the night - at least until the passthroughs hit the mailboxes.

Not sure this will help you but I had this trouble when I first got my Rocket, Phoenix wasnt making good contact with the connector, so I shaved the plastic flush with the connector and havent had any trouble since. Hope this offers some help, as I simply love my rocket, I'm a little rough on mine carry it in my shirt pocket at work, constantly falling out onto the warehouse floor, still going strong although today I did drop it and lost the lens covering the led, but still working great

Hey poppabear.. my issue isn't the connector, it's that when I change the voltage on it, it automatically reverts back to 3.0 when I press the fire button. I'm wondering if, during all my fooling around with that darn wire, I did something to the circuit board. I HATE fiddling with stuff, mostly cuz I really don't know what I'm doing! I really think it's down for the count,,, hmmmmmm, I wonder if I could get bad and danno to sell me just the body??? I don't need batts and charger,, just the device. Bad? Danno?

Great update on my rocket ! It's Alive again ! I couldn't be more thrilled ! After cleaning the juice out and letting it dry overnight it's back in business ! yipppppeeee !!!! just needed a little tinkering here and there !!!!

I'm glad your tinkering was more successful than mine!

Well, then, you should fit right in! And if you don't make it this time for whatever reason, just keep hanging out with us, and post about relevant stuff (don't do kissy-face, or Kwalka will yell at you ). Then try again.

I am appauled at the implication that I used capital letters. I dont recall raising my typing at all, nor does my keyboard show signs of abuse. This is a technical forum meant to help folks learn where to plug in their dongles, and there is no room for kissyface. For the record thats my opinion and we all know what opinions are like. If kissyface is your choice I will ask for a warning to skip the next X amount of posts as not to have to read it.

EDIT: I understand this senseless banter is getting to be a bit much and I will make an effort to knock it off. You guys know I'm only playing and I dont mean any of it.

Luvinit, just mentioned it for info, mine would adjust to desired voltage but when i released the button it would go back to 3.0 Voltage would adjust but still wouldn't fire up, may not work for you but this did for me

Hey Luvin.....I have that issue with mine on 2 occasions....1) when the batts need charged and 2) when a carto needs some serious cleaning I don't know why it happens, but when I charge the batts or change the carto to a new one, it is all resolved. Maybe a gunked up carto is causing the unit to work harder to power it...I dunno. Now mind you, I have not had to fiddle with mine like you did, so this may not be of any use in your situation, but it's worth a shot

That's brilliant! My gosh, how did I not think of something like that?! Again, BAD IT GUY!!! I even thought about the replacement AC wall outlets with 2 USB ports in the wall plate that are around now, so you'd think those power strips would have entered my tired mind at some point last night.

I mean come on people. I refuse to take part in the whole FB and Twitter, "just got up, just made coffee, oops put to much cream in my coffee, uh oh I gotta run" sillyness. I have no problem with a little bit of fun and games every now and then, but when I sit down to get caught up and there are 2 whole pages of hugs and kisses b4 bed, thats where I draw the line. Uh-oh, I'm having mixed emotions regarding your post kwalka! I believe that I'm the resident IT guy that you speak of and are glad to see here now, but I think I might also be the guy who started the kissy-face stuff that you're ranting about when I said goodnight and that I was going to bed last night.

I would actually like to apologize for that as I know better. All of the cell phone "hacking" forums (XDA especially) that I frequent would have flamed the heck out of all of us involved within about 3 posts for getting that far off topic, but it does seem like that kind of thing is somewhat OK here, especially if there's nothing relevant to the OP to discuss while we all wait for the mailman.

JUST A JOKE -> Perhaps we should start a Kissy-Face ECF Group for those types of late-night conversations?

The C8 resets to 5V for some reason - not sure why they did that.

I don't see this forum being as "hard core" as others I frequent. IMO, it's a bit more 'community' oriented. There are threads in the modder's section that are all tech-all the time.

Until i got to the bottom of Kwalka's 2nd post on the topic, I was ready to assign him to the D-bag/...... category, but remembered that humor doesn't always translate well via text communication.
