It's very pretty (I got green), solid feeling, parts match well. The batt feels wonderful in the hand. Bonny - I'm having the same problem with drip tips - they are all a tad loose. Don't fall out exactly, but don't snap in, exactly, either. I got my new skull one in - looks cool. :)

vaping is temperamental so far. The first few hits were dry, one after the other, though I let it sit for awhile. It doesn't taste like "normal" dry hits either. I was going to say that I don't remember what the dry hit tastes like anymore, but my long-wicked stardust just reminded me. :( (definitely cutting the wicks on that one - haven't had any dry hits on short wicks ever) Let it sit a bit more. Tilted it significantly - flooding. Kept flooding it for a while, until finding the correct tilt angle for the level of juice. If I am careful, it vapes very well. Flavor is about on par with the ViVi, maybe a bit stronger and a bit more metallic, but it's not broken in yet, either.

I am wondering what will happen if I cut the wicks... I'll wait until the break-in period is over though. At this point, I'd say it's got lots of promise.

Right now I'm chain-vaping it with no problems, tilted at maybe 10 degrees or so.

Yeah, it's still not tasting right for me. I can't chain vape it or I'll get massive dry hits. I put it down for a while to use the shorty carto. I'm back to it, though. I really want to break it in before I show it off to my mom this evening.

Just for info's sake: did you fill it all the way? And what kind of juice? Are you tilting it at all?

Mine is doing really well now - I just chain-vaped myself into a coughing fit...

I emptied a bottle of Vienna cream 70/30 pg vg 24mg nic into it. There was some missing from the bottle though. It wasn't quite halfway up the clear part. I guess it was maybe 3.5ml? I'm rolling it around between draws and tilting it not quite horizontally. Not getting dry hits at the moment, but they still taste funky.

If this thing had the same setup as the ce5, it would be the best thing ever.

And now it's spitting, I guess that comment offended it or something.

You gotta be gentle with it , I think, apparently in more ways than one. But, yeah, it is a bit temperamental. I'll take Diva's word for the bottom level, and so far it looks to me like the "golden volume" corresponds to the window. Below window or above it is apparently troublesome...

But I'm still doing well with it. The flavor has improved - less metallic now. And i have to say that with the skull tip on top it looks fantastic. :D

Yeah, definitely, flavor-wise, I like it just a bit better than the ViVi - it has a hair more depth at this point. I haven't even done a quarter of a tank yet. I'm a slow vaper.

More on Apollo:

Well, I stuck it on top of my Twist. Looks a bit like a demented popsicle. But it actually works much better for me at 4V. Flavor is better for this juice, and the tank is a lot more forgiving - I can tilt it for comfort without flooding it, and still no dry hits. I'm liking this more and more.

Have you put the shorty on your lampbatt? The tiny tip is the cherry on top!

I think the problem was the juice flavor. I put 7 leaf in and it tastes fine. Vienna cream is new to me and must be one of those juice flavors that work well in certain setups such as the phoenix.

So, the flavor is coming out crisp and clean. The flavor switch went flawlessly which surprised me since I haven't experienced that with hanging wicks.

I think I'm almost ready to do a full write up. I'll get to it tonight.

Was out of town for 2 weeks and am back. Anyone miss me? :p

Just saw the Apollos in the Alpha section. I love these!

Assuming these are what other vendors-who-shall-not-be-named sell, here's my impressions (assuming they are second generation).

They are GREAT out-of-the-box, great vapor flavor, etc. EXCEPT sometimes the silicon cap gets pushes down too hard on the wicks and chokes them, causing dry hits. Solution is simply to unscrew the top and wiggle the cap up. (The first generation of these things were much worse in this regard.)

Okay, now the weirdness. I noticed these things would suddenly start leaking all over the place. My initial theory is that if it gets too hot, the seals fail (the second generation has much better seals). But even if you replace the base, the core never seems to fully recover. They just seem to punk out. Thus, in my experience -- and granted I could be alone in this -- is that the inner core wicks need to be replaced every 4-7 days (depending on how much you vape).

I really, really, really like the wicking material on all the E series, but I think you trade performance for longevity. In other words, you get a great vape but the wicks don't last as long as other silica wicks (which don't give as much flavor and performance). To me, this is a trade off I'm more than willing to take, especially since you can purchase the cores at fairly reasonable rates.

Now, disclaimer, this is my experience for E2's from other vendors. I've just ordered some from GV as well so will update if I notice any difference.

Pshaw! The first thing people say when they see mine on a Twist is ... SONIC SCREWDRIVER!

(Though, granted, that probably says more about the people I hang with....)

Very modern art ish.. I like the look and feel in the hand. Briar basically said all I could say regarding dry hits and vaping.
I do have an issue with the ordering. When it was all put up on the site I went thru and selected one of each in SS. Then when I went to check out I got a whole bunch of error messages saying I exceeded the ordering limit. So now I have a 650mAh batt and a 6 and 10ml tank and there is no way the 10 will go on this small batt. So I feel we should be able to order a 900 as well. :2c:
I will report back once I've put it thru its paces.
Alpha K out.

GV mail arrived today :rickroll:

APOLLO E2 6ml TANK

I always give new tanks and the heads a vodka bath before use. So, I did with this tank as well. Dried everything and did a dry burn with the head coil. Only 1 coil was lighting, which indicates a short in the wraps of the coil. After doing a little fiddlin' with the coils everything went normal for the dry burn. Filled the tank with some DIY ejuice, wet the wick real good and attached it to the APOLLO E2 900mah Battery - BLACK (900 mAh fully charged). The vapor was good, Throat Hit a little wimpy (may be the DIY juice) and flavor was normal for that juice. After a while I was getting dry hits and some gurgling...the gurgling was from over wetting the wick. I chain vape quite a bit so probably why the dry hits. If I give it a rest after a couple of good hits, it seems to do just fine...but for chain vaping it will need some modding. I think cutting the silicon cap where the wicks come out of the coil head may help, at least that's my modding plan for the Apollo tank.

Fast shipping on my order, as always...thanks Danno! :) Also, thanks for making the adjustments to my order! (I love doing business with folks with some common sense!!!) :D

Sounds like my kind of people, too!

The LavaPollo (still trying to think up a cheesy name) is awesome, now. I am getting an occasional gurgling, but I just blow through it lightly and continue vaping. The vapor is diminished for a couple drags, but then it's all fine and dandy.

Thanks for the heads up about the possibility of leaking. I'll be sure to set the tank in a bottle cap tonight to see what happens. It's a very scientific method of testing, I swear!

LavaLaPollo?
