Could you provide a link to this C9 rebuildable?

C9 rebuildable
I have been playin' w/the C9 this evening & If you can make a ego-t wick, these DO WORK.

Setting up the unit ...
I stuck wick in flame from gas stove top...till it all glowed...blew off any stray fibers...
...then primed w/vg ....I made a wick & got it in place, primed it also & put it all together.
It works just like an ego-t .

Ego-Twick1.jpg

dug up out of photobucket from last year ...
got tired of trying to explain "how to" in words ...
excuse crappiness please

...oh & remembered that you do need to trim wick flush w/angle on spike, if you leave wick extending up into tank ,you will get dry hits ...WHY?... I do not know  & just leave a short tuft on the bottom side .That one long coil wick is long enough to help the transfer of the liquid from one wick to the other ....

I DID NOT try to set it up without the spike wick ...in hindsight I probably should have for testing purposes ...but didn't  I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE it workin' w/out spike wick...:glare: I will try it next time I have wick out ...but it is working @the moment ... so I'm NOT messin' w/it NOW!

oh & it works good on rocket, but makes a high pitched whine when I press button
won't work on my ego batts, led's just flash ....thinkin' I NEED to check w/meter tomorrow .
B-4 I fry batteries or something ??? Twist worked for a few hits then started flashing ???

Got the CE9. Hate it. I've never used one of these tip cartridges before (mostly because of the lackluster reviews) and tried a 70/30 pg/vg. It just will not wick. The juice doesn't want to drip onto the coil. (Yes, I made sure it was punctured.) I guess I could try to thin it out more but I'm just not motivated. I wish I could squeeze the tip to force juice down. Performance is so poor for me that I haven't bothered to try to re-wick.

Anyway, I've stayed away from tip cartridge designs and, while I like the concept of inexpensive rebuildables, will probably stay way from this type of design in the future. It just isn't for me.

(I will say it is very well made, though that is sort of besides the point.)

You may be shorting in the connector itself - that's what was happening to me. Do be careful!

Nice job on your wick. Are you a heavy vaper - how fast does it wick?

ALPHA -APOLLO E2 6ml TANK Replaceable Tank & Stem/Coil STAINLESS [gv-ALPHAApolloTank-Chrome] - $5.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

honestly, if you think there's any chance i might get accepted, i will apply. i have no problem with non-warranty items.... as long as there isn't a huge chance of them blowing my face off. :D

The skull drip tip is already available :) the apollo tank I think still has some stock but the batteries seem to be sold out

The CE9 has been doing an excellent job as a dripper, post modification. The removal of the center section opened it up nicely for a slightly arched wick. Now if I can work out a better way to hold my drip tip I will be set.

The rubber mouthpiece from one of the clear mega dual coil cartos fits perfectly (I think the one I'm using is from a Smoktech, but I'm not sure). The hole in the mouthpiece is pretty small, but it would probably work for dripping if you use a needle-tip bottle.

Thanks for that heads up Lavaca5, I should have one of those around to try. I also have been thinking about drilling it out just a hair and pressing in a top ring from an old CE4 and chopping down the screw on tip. Maybe even drill that center ridge out. That would also work for me. I'll let you all know how that goes.....

As far as the CE9 shorting out, I had problems with the first wick/coil I built that I tried to keep low and between the posts. I would fire it up and get a reading of about 2.4ohms. After a few draws it would jump to in the 4 ohm range. If I tapped it or twisted the center section it would return for a bit, then jump all around again. I'm guessing it was just moving a little bit when heating/cooling causing something to touch/separate somewhere. Once I eliminated the center and arched the wick upwards it leveled out and has been stable.
