I found dry hits are due to wire not touching the wick. The wick in this good looking tank is thin and crappy. I figured out how to take it apart, clipped some wick from one side and did a re-wrap of the coil around the same spot in the wick with the extra cut wick to make it thicker. I used a pin through the wick to hold it and get a tight wrap. I put it all back together and did a drip to test. It kicked .... Also a leak at the bottom of the tank was fix by moving the "O" ring down so the bottom of the tank would be sealed. I don't know why but it was in the wrong place. It was above the treads not below where it belongs. I will test it further now.

Kreator ?what are you talkin' about ????

I could assume that you are referring to the Apollo, but it would be helpful if you list the item you are talking about FIRST b-4 starting your comments ...also Title'ing helps Dan & Bad know which threads are relevant to Alpha & Not JUST chit chat.

Not meaning to gang up on you Kreator, really... But it also really helps to use Reply with Quote, since it gives us a bit of context. Most especially in the Alpha thread, where so many products are being discussed simultaneously. :D:D:D:D:D

This may sound like a stupid question, but doesn't this batt have a 5-click on/off safety feature? Have you tried very rapidly clicking the fire button & see if it comes on?

APOLLO BATT

Unhappy.gif
My Apollo Batt won't come ON anymore ...when I put it on charger it will flash 5 times & then the "charger light" turns green (on 3 diff.chargers)...IDK? seems to be stuck in OFF mode ...anyone know what the "5 flash code" means ? I have NOT used it w/anything but the tank it came with ...It had been working great . Hasn't been "juiced" or dropped or anything else out of the ordinary ...it hasn't even been out of the house  only had it since the 6th or 7th ...2 weeks....so so SHINY & SAD !

I was gonna laugh so hard if that was it, cuz I thought about that too and then thought....I'm not gonna say that to Kelley, cuz I know she's done made sure of that!! lol But....seriously, any of us could forget anything or just not think of it, so it bears saying.....sometimes it's the lil things that getchya. The rocket scientist who can't ties his shoes.

Kelley, put it in time out for a few days and make it think about what it did (or didn't did). It worked for my phx's. Had 3 of 5 that wouldn't work right when I first filled em. Tossed em on the desk and ignored em for 3 days, decided to try one.... hmmmm then another....that's more like it let's see what this 3rd one does......well i'll be danged. I'm tellin ya.....time out works! Straightened em right up!! lol

I have seen a ton of comments on gurgling with the Apollo tank. I have not tried this one yet. However I do use the E1 tanks all the time. They get gurgly too. However, it isn't because I have flooded it, it is because the condensation builds up in the drip tip, then drips down and collects on the top of the cap. If you take the drip tip off and dry off the top of the cap, the gurgling should stop. At least it does for me every time with the E1s.

We may get this for ALPHA...I don't trust knock-off electronics (knocking off the eGo Twist) until we can test this...last year we saw alot of VV ego's and VV eGo pass through's and the QC was maybe a 2 out of ten...

Do we know if the Twist version of the Apollo E2 batteries are any good? I saw them earlier...

Also, did Anyone have problems with the Apollo battery or was it just the tank that was no fun?

I agree with you Mare. I've noticed that if I inhale just a bit longer after after releasing the fire button on my Twist it doesn't get as gurgly as quickly.

Your "I found dry hits are due to wire not touching the wick." comment made me wonder if THAT is why they are all adding the "queen" wicks on top of coil wicks lately ....maybe the 2nd wick helps with that issue when it arises ... mine never really has dry hits ,but I seem to have better luck w/wicking than others & I embrace the QUEEN WICK .:lol:

Hallelujah!

I think that if more of us would worship the 'Queen Wick' more often we'd have an easier time of it all around.

Eh?

The only problem with the new ZMax is that it will most likley have the same issues as the VMax when it first came out. Unless it is somehow an alpha product I will probably stay away until a revision comes out. The first VMaxes were TERRIBLE from everything I have read and seen. I haven't used one personally but I do wholeheartedly urge that if GV plans to sell them that we test them in Alpha first and let the program do what it is supposed to. If they go strait to mainline and they happen to be terrible like the first VMax it would look bad for GV where as if we do it in Alpha we know there is no warranty and we are stuck with it. A small price to pay considering the history of the VMax. If I am wrong about the VMax revisions please let me know, because like I said I have never used one and I am just going by what I have read about the first versions and to stay far far away from them (V1s that is).

This was done on a smart phone. Joys of autocorrect. I jeannine issues with the zmax and lavatube. Laxative first too I guess :p

I think the issue with the a max and (and lets not forget it's special cousin the laxative) is it was reverse engineered off of the provari and since that is known we generally expect provari performance on a eGo budget. they aren't the same, the internals are very different

lol you what?

Also what is the ZMax gonna be reversed engineered from? A Darwin or Kick? I suspect there will still be issues out the gate. I just think it should be tested first to help lower customer disappointment, especially since this is there first attempt at it (VW / VV System).
