I have looked for a post on how to rewick my Bachelor with rayon. I can't seem to find it. Would someone be so kind as to explain the trick?

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't having a problem. I just wanted to know if there was a special technique to this tank. Vaping on my Bachelor with rayon now. No leaks.Just put it in there snug, to get squeak in the coil. Coil size the same as the slots or smaller, cut about flush. If liquid is thin enough full wick should be fine. Should be super easy.... What kind of problem are you having?
It's a straight wick with no bends or drops, and the wick isn't longer than the deck. So just thin part of the top as needed. But don't just cut the tip to improve juice flow. kind of angle it up the wick to feather it into the wick if that makes sense.
Some may want to try to flair the wick out just inside the slots like a "pancake type wick, cut in a curve of the chamber. Not sure just something that may work.
I have just ordered a bachelor tank today. I should have it by Thursday this week and will be posting about it.
Tencel works, but the fibers are "stiffer" than Sally's or rayon from other sources. The "premium" product seems to be Delasco medical balls. I, personally, have used Sally's, Graham CelluCotton, since I started with rayon, cheap, easy to work with and easily available here in the States.
Hello, welcome and congrats on getting back to vaping. In the beginning on of the big points we noticed was a major reduction in daily problems we had with vaping. Leaks dry hits ect were all reduced to occasional snafus of empty tanks.
The original and best rayon is highly elusive and extremely difficult to find. The other sources have been whatever we can find. Basically no one uses tencel. I haven't since around post 300 in pt1.
Everything you need to know is pretty much consolidated in the detailed opening posts of this part two thread. And should cover it for you all at once. If reading back in pt. 1, around post 1000 we have everything sorted.
There is a list in post 5 or 6. Sally's being the cheapest by far, also noticeable as such, but still good enough to convert you to rayon, and better than cottons.
How long will you be in the states? Will you be able to wait to take shipment or do you have to pick up at a store due to time constraints.
Rayon is alright but I don't know that it's significantly better than Japanese Cotton. It wears about the same and I really can't notice any taste to either.
A source for Rayon is Amazon always has it in stock and not a bad price around $13 shipped for a Big Box shipped for Prime Members. That is where I got mine at, and Japanese Cotton, Cotton Bacon all from Amazon
Hey Kaz, Oh I'm sure not finished experimenting, and have a fairly large Box of that Rayon; and not going to throw it out. Plus I've only started with the Coils in Nov.Heya Brother... good to see ya 'round these parts!
As some of my fellow Rayonati stated earlier, you might need to dial in your build a little bit to notice the difference that we're all talkin' about. Most of us have been through all the different cottons, silica, SS mesh, ceramic cores for genesis attys, and a host of various wicking materials... and I can tell you with absolute confidence that rayon (for me) is hands down the easiest, best, and cheapest wick that I've ever used. The only other wick that I've ever had that even comes close on flavor and longevity is those little cCell coils they came out with a coupla months ago... you know, the ceramic coil heads that Vaporesso is using. And even those can't handle the wattage that rayon can.
Just to put it into perspective. I've gotten 300mL out of a rayon build with no maintenance other than occasionally brushing off the outside of the coil. I've ran rayon at 120W for weeks at a time with not a single dry or burnt hit, all on the same wick. I've never gotten more than 50mL on cotton, and even then it's possible to get dry hits with a wet wick. I've gotten to 120W with cotton, but it's a gamble... that dreaded dry hit is coming, and it's gonna hurt.
I guess all I'm sayin' is: if ya haven't noticed much difference, then you probably need to tune it in a bit more. There is a ton of excellent advice in here, and as always, you can PM me if ya want.
See ya on da Porch, Brother!
Kaz
Yeah there are some really nice folks around hereI received a mysterious package address to "Sloth" today - it contains what appears to be Rayon...
I think I know the culprit, and have messaged him...but whoever it was, I really appreciate this gesture, it came out of nowhere! I'm excited to try it out...momentarily![]()
Thanks man. So far so good. My tastebuds are skewy from lunch (spicy) so can't comment on that as of yet. I did trim-thin the tails a bit but that was weird since I've never done it, I'm not confident I did a good job. When you say discoloration, I'll keep an eye out for that will it be a particular color? Will it go super white? The coil density looks good so far! Can't tell if you have thinned the tails at all. If you have any issues go there. If you have tail discoloration, thin the tails. Depending on power you pushing will depend on how you need to tune the wick for flow by thinning the tail. If it's working good keep going. After time it will show you if you need to tune or trim it more by color.
(trust me I know...I am a chronic overstuffer by nature, so heck, Rayon may come easy).
That's a Tidi looking wick you've got there, Sloth.First attempt...was squeaking a bit
