Waterfalls are a key word. I haven't used it in a while. Dang did I forget that in the op... Cascading is another word. If the wick drops down it should resemble a waterfall.

Yep... if the wick flows; so will da juice! ;)

With rayon wick, I place just enough in the coils so it is snug. Then, fan and fluff it out on either side of the coil. I cut the ends to just the outside of the deck, stuff the very little back into the well and just slightly under the coil/s. This makes it seem like there are waterfalls reaching down into the well. Find the rayon laps up juice very well. In fact, I may actually squonk too much at times. It is a learning process though and eventually, I'll be more experienced in avoiding dry hits without soaking the deck.

I cut bout a inch and half piece of rayon, separate to use bout 1/2 to 2/3, grab both ends and give it a couple twists then judge if that is going to fit into the coil, remove some if necessary then twist again until I'm happy with the size. Once in the coil I pull back and forth some each way till there is barely a bit of friction, if your coil moves then too tight. IMO juice moves up the rayon fiber rather using the fiber to wet the next fiber like cotton, so keeping the rayon nice and straight when wicking and I have never had a dry hit due to lack of juice from poor wicking.

I just couldn't think of a word but waterfall to describe it but I like cascading. I trim the wick a bit long and have to wiggle the chimney into place, cause once the chimney is inplace you work the wick from the inside to tidy it all up and make sure there are no gaps where the holes are. Take tweezers and compact the wick closer to the holes, you don't need the wick fanned out end to end.

So, I wicked my moonshot with rayon, have not had an issue with leaking, but it seems to not be able to keep up and burns. I am using fairly higher wattage and i am getting frustrated beyond belief. might just have to go to on older more reliable rta until the billow v3 gets ordered before surgery.

the wick is in fact too loose in the coil. You must push on the edge of wick and make sure there's not a gap exposed between wick and coil at the top.
2
Your tails need to be thinned more or trimmed /placed so they aren't blocking the juice ports too much. Or it won't feed juice from the tank enough.

So it can handle high wattage

Oh yeah it can handle it.

An attys power is restricted by its air and juice flow. Moonshots got plenty of air and adequate juice holes. Sound like you have way to much rayon in the chamber. It controls juice like a boss. Thin the tails.

Just start taking angled cuts off the top of the tails. Little by little till it feeds adequately. I say little by little because it's a new atty to you and you don't want to cut too much and short yourself. There's some pretty large juice holes. But rayon needs a lot of juice flow to keep up with its fast wicking.

For higher power levels you can NOT have a loose wick. It must stay tight in the coil when you push on the wick at the edges.

Only issue I have with it is the small juice capacity.

Oh yeah that makes sense, I will get the feel for the tightness eventually, also worried about it leaking.

So today I rebuilt the Stumpy that's home to my Inawera Dark for Pipe mix. I built it with 24g kanthal, I think it's a 6/5 wrap, 2.5mm for about .43ish ohms. Lower than I said I'd ever go again...Even with a hasty crappy Rayon wick it's the best vape I've ever had and it's not spitting hardly at all. Think I just found my new favorite build at least for this juice. Vaporious as all heck and the flavor knocks my teeth out. I'm in love. That's all. Goodnight :D

I have realized my issue I think, I did not do a spaced coil
Listen Brother there is always help for window sun.
I've consulted the bones and the Moonshot is NOT the RTA for you, send it to me for proper care and feeding!
Do it now, don't delay! :w00t:

I will, I am convincing the wife to let me buy the billow 3 before surgery, and then will clean it up and it's on its way. Actually it was not doing bad with cotton. Just wanted better

Next time you rewicked, jump on here live and ask questions. Pictures say 1000 words if you can post em.

To start the thread I was just going to say stuff the Rayon in there tight then butcher the tails. Lol

Oh yeah that makes sense, I will get the feel for the tightness eventually, also worried about it leaking.

Tighter is better than looser. Rayon won't burn like cotton.

While I agree spaced coils are always better regardless the wick, micros work with rayon too.

Let us know how we can help, review the op's there a lot in there.

Rayon makes me want to ball my eyes out. Now that I've lowered my ohms so I'm getting some more heat the rayon is making my juices sing to the high heavens - ballads of glory, triumph and beauty. It really is like drinking pure flavor. Even 1 & 2 flavor diy mixes taste more glorious than any premium juice I ever tasted...

That's the freaking rayon. I'm in tears. Can't take another hit my eyes may pop out.
