tl;dr What's the technique folks are using when wicking the Avocado with rayon?
I don't have an Avocado but do use Genesis style tanks. I don't use anything but mesh, ekowool or ss rope in them. (#nocottoninmygenny)

Looking at all the videos out there on it, I would say trim your tails and push them down to the bottom of the tank. I think the Ceramic block only fills one hole so airlock should not be an issue. With a dual build, make sure the Rayon is not compressed as it comes through the deck holes.

Looks like a great tank but might pour out if laid on its side or upside down in a coat pocket.

I was just bummed to start seeing a consensus about short wicks and manual wetting with cotton, then realized/hoped all that fuss probably isn't applicable to rayon.
Looks like something trendy, like the "Genny Tilt".
If you have to tilt your Genny to get it to wick with mesh, then it is NOT built right.

I agree with Troll. Not having used a Genny in over two years, can't say how well one would work with Rayon. Mostly used mesh and SS rope in mine as well, and never had to tilt for proper wicking.

I know there's a couple guys here using rsst genies for a long time with rayon, I'm sure they will check in after the holiday.

way more trouble than needed for me. I've got a brand new rsst I've had a while that I need to send to someone. It was given to me tried it once said screw it. It had like a 1/32 hole and I didn't even bother with it enough to drill it out.

It can be done if it's your cup of tea. :)

Not in Germany, and not in Eastern Europe either. I was hoping for a EU-based online supplier, but all I find is a Dutch DIY supplies site that sells it by 20g, and there's very little information on where it's coming from. Doesn't sound very appealing. Thanks for the pointers though, guess I could try poking friends in Germany maybe, looks like DM is a respected supplier on this board.

Welcome, welcome!

Your on the path to vaping enlightenment.

I usually dont like to do this but..

You should be able to get fiber freaks in the EU.. It's a processed rayon / lyocell wick (cellulose, same thing) It's clean. He kinda ran with it from the first few pages of the Rayon thread, when we were trying tencel/ lyocell, it will be better than cotton for you. And at least you'll know where it's coming from.

I dont like to recommend FF, because he clearly got the idea from me but never said any word about where the idea came. From or sent any thanks to me.

DM stores have Ebelin watteballchen 100%viskose
(that means rayon balls)

DM supplies tons os stuff including makeup balls which happen to be made out of rayon. It's not a vaping related company. That's why it's so cheap (1€ per bag of 100 balls from which you can make 3 - 4 wicks per ball... About 400 wicks). If you also consider that some people (like myself) rewick once a month, that's 400 months worth of rayon. Almost 40 years worth of rayon per atty...

If you want rayon from an online store, I remember pink mule having it... I think it was 5 or 10 small balls of tidi for 1 or 2 euros. Pretty expensive but ok for trying it out.

Thank you both. Jackpot with FF, it looks like they're based in France, which is my country of residence. I'll give it a shot and see if I can grab some make-up balls next time I visit Germany :) In any case, thank you for the entire thread, this is fascinating stuff and it's bound to be extremely useful at the dawn of an era when the selection of pre-made coils/wick material is going to become extremely limited or go the way of the dinosaurs. I hope you guys have better luck with the FDA.

I think FF has two densities. Check which one suits you better. Regarding the regs, it will mainly affect atties and nic.

I'm hording nic as we speak before it all gets shut down may, 20th.

It will affect anything rebuildable if I read correctly, but you seem more informed than I am. We have a bit of a grace period over here as I think the authorities haven't even started drafting their interpretation of the legislation. As I don't need a lot of nic in my juices and I don't really want to stock liters of 100mg nic in my freezer, I'm trying to find out how much nic I can get into my juices from my custom made NETs. If I can get a final product that's close to 3mg I guess that would be enough for me and it would also eliminate the nic supply issue forever.

I'll stop derailing the thread now...

Yep, the 2 densities don't make sense to me I can make any density I want easily with regular rayon. With the lighter one you'll need a little more cut, with the "denser" one you'll need a little less. At any rate it needs to be snug and you need to follow up the first day or two and make sure you don't loose full contact with the coil.
