@Jeremy R your first post on this part 2 thread is amazing and has been a huge help.

I am very late to the world of rayon and have been happily working with silica in all my rebuildable cartos. I picked up a couple of rba heads for my Cubis and with a lot of prodding from @gt_1955 and a lot of noob questions that @TrollDragon has been patiently answering I did my first build yesterday. I got it right on my second attempt which was a bit of a surprise. The taste is very strong crisp and clear but I will have to tone down my menthols and probably reduce my nic content.

I have always found the taste of cotton unpalatable and I think I thought rayon would be the same. Not so and I am surprised and very pleased with the result. In the past whenever I tried rayon I had difficulty working with small coils and I would end up with a pile of fluff resulting in it going to the "too hard" basket. Because the Cubis RBA is bigger it was much more forgiving and easier to work with longer strands. I know I probably havent got the density of the coil head packing right and I am getting a bit of slow refiring that I will work on.

So again thank you for taking the time to put all the information together in such an instructional way.

Now you have great wicking material to go with all those beautiful devices. Welcome to the world of improved flavor, nic hit, and longevity. :)

Thank you. I know I still have some tweaking to do but at least I am armed with the trouble shooting rules. The Cubis tank is perfect for my wood mods so it was important to get those RBA coils working properly. TD told me to add pics but I don't think it's quite right yet,

I have put a kangaroo in one of my billet boxes so my next trick will be to get rid of the musty cotton in those SSOCC coils.

Thank you very much Krisma.. I appreciate it.!. Gave me a glimmer of happiness and joy. I've had a very bad day today. So it's always nice to hear how much it has helped others.

Your always welcome to post anything here, no question is stupid. Myself and many others in the Rayonati are waiting to help.

Sorry about your day :( and I hope it gets better tomorrow.

I don't do big atomiser rebuilding so I think my biggest issues will be working with small coils and I am using Graham's cellucotton which tends to go foop into a pile of lint if I cut it too small. :p

Keep it extra long to make it easier to work with, then cut the excess at the end. Do not cut the piece to short to start with.... Thanks for good wishes, unfortunately this issue will not be going away anytime soon. But the forums are a way for me to get away for a while. Thanks everyone for your support.

I do have one question. I use quite high pg 70% ......with silica I add extra to make sure I don't get flooding. I also take fairy 2-3 sec vapes which guarantees quite a bit of flooding if I get it wrong. Am I right in presuming the same would apply to rayon. In the Cubis coil head as a rule of thumb should I pack it tight.

If you get the density right the small amount of shrinkage isn't an issue, I don't have the Cubis or know how the rba section is wicked so I can't say how much is enough.

Ok I will have a play later this morning and if it's pretty I will show pics :p

You'll probably find that the flooding problem disappears with rayon in there. That's one of the benefits, eliminates problems.

No extra will be needed. If anything less. You should notice how bushy the tails are with rayon.

You building horizontal or vertical? I'm looking into this cubis head.

I think those juice channels should be full (in width), unless your not getting any flooding in which case looks good.

At least with the Cubis you don't have to worry about getting a mod full of juice.

That's the main reason I like them. I just did another one that was packed a bit looser and it still works the same. I think this combo is very forgiving. I am not using the little screw hole for the negative (that microscopic screw is too small for my eyes and hands to deal with) :p

I was sold on at least trying rayon after reading your 1st post Jeremy, can I ask what "brand" you are currently using. I have not read the entire thread, but I want my first experience to be fair and use whatever brand is considered the "best" today. In the cotton world, the type and choices are almost endless, but that adds confusion and a lot of personal preferences. THANKS!

@Krisma your pic shows 1 ohm at 15 watts. If you have the airflow, you should try raising the watts. I have 1 ohm builds running at 22 watts.

I only take baby vapes I have the air barely open. They are all mints and menthols so 15 is just before they start to burn. 15 is the highest I have ever vaped.
