Got my ss316L 30g & 32g wire from Temco. Might be my imagination but I did a twisted with 32g 9 wraps on 2.5mm & the taste is so clean with rayon :thumb: better than with other ss316L wire with rayon.

Also it was noted that you might need to go up a few watts with rayon but for me I was able to go down a few watts.

Am I cray cray?

Lol :lol::lol:

Havent heard that expression for a while.

Interesting, sure you can go lower and get similar th. Depends on what your vaping and what your looking for. By all means do what fits you.

I find it a good starting point for new users, to reduce the saturation a bit. Oversaturation can cause a harsh hit for some not used to the punch from Rayon. When thier first using it going up 3 w can help reduce the moisture and give a vape more like they are used. Som beginners are thrown by the saturation.

I'm a little brain-dead right now... I know how to stop spit back, but can't focus well enough to remember if it needs to be tighter in the coil or what... I think your density may be slightly lacking, though. I'm sure someone around here will correct me if I'm wrong. :) These folks are usually pretty awesome like that!

Huh... I figured tthe Serpent would be pretty easy. Looks like a typical, single-coil RTA. I'd wick it the same way that I do the Silver Play with the tails tucked into the juice slots, then cut off after the chimney was screwed down. I've never really had much of a problem out of the Silver Play...

With the Theorem, do you have to do the old-school "Genny Tilt" to keep the wicks from running dry?
I do wick like you do on the Silverplay but if you've followed the thread in the Serpent only a handful of peeps don't experience the seeping after filling. Most are using cotton & that I have down. But with rayon, I know there are a least two of our "rayonati's" have Serpents. Perhaps they can tell me what I'm doing wrong? Maybe more rayon in the tails? Right now I'm doing it like this

Kindly submitted by one of "us". Sorry forgot your name.
With the Theorem I don't think of it as the "genny tilt" you kinda tilt it to vape anyway. With rayon it stays saturated til the last drop.

The wick in the serpent was pretty tight, maybe too tight. Rewicked with a bit less, and trimmed it, so it tapered down to a point. (should have taken a picture) Similar to the pic above, but with more fluff up top, near the coil.
So far, no weeping, no popping, no spit, without increasing wattage. :thumb:
I definitely will be lowering my nic level. 6mg is... :w00t:

Here are the "part" numbers for Graham, Sally's, CelluCotton 100% rayon.

44040 Regular Coil 1200 Ft.
44043 Regular Coil 3 Lbs.
44060 Regular Coil 500 Ft.
44130 Regular Coil 40 Ft.

The 44060 box is about a foot cube and should last a lifetime for well under $20.00.

There you go

Got my SS today. Temco is fast.

STM with kanthal 28ga, 6.5 wraps, 2.4 dia, 1.1 ohms. SS 28ga, 6.5 wraps, 2.4 dia, .6 ohms cold. I dry heated the coil and it went up to 1 ohm. When wet it only goes up to .7 This is on the Kbox mini with x.x display. On the Platinum with x.xx display it stays at .65 cold and hot.
What is real interesting is that I left the watts at 20 and get about the same vape. On a mech at 4.2v it would be 25w at .7 and 29w at .6 On a KBM it shows 3.8v at .7 and 20w setting.

ETA edit SS to 28ga. Dagnabit I thought I grabbed the 30.

Today I did a SS 30ga, 6.5 wraps, 2.4 dia and it came in at .94 after firing. So not far off from kanthal 28ga. First puff had the rayon taste and then clean after that. Still running 20 watts. Puzzled. I'm all unflavored so I'll let others comment on taste. Can't tell yet if SS is better than kanthal but certainly no worse. I think we can assume that it is safer if there is even any risk at all. 316L is easier to work with but I didn't have a big problem with kanthal at 26-32ga.

BTW I gave up for now on vertical coils in the STM rba. Just too fiddly for me right now. Horizontal takes minutes and wicking with rayon is easily repeatable.

I tried a few wicks with the Delasco's, and I am gonna stick with the Sally's, less fiddling. The Delasco's when I un roll a ball, has thick and thin areas, the Sally's is more uniform, and easier to work with. If anyone wants a sample of D's, let me know.

Just rewicked my orchid with Delasco after dropping it and knocking the wick around causing a leak. I had run a whopping 5ml of a filthy NET through a DM wick, it was time for a change anyway.

I need a new filtration method for my NET extractions, been thinking of trying a 0.45 um syringe filter...

Anyway Delasco really brought out the subtleties of this Perique blend :)

I'm going to stick my neck out here and predict that we will say that SS 316 is to wire what rayon is to wick.

I've only tried 316L but based on other people's comments and having gone through a few tanks on regulated and non regulated devices, I'll say it is an improvement all around.
