Twisting many wires will result in annealing, adding rigidity, to the wire. I used the technique of spinning wire to make it "springy" to make short whip antennas for VHF communications out of ordinary, household, copper wire. A piece of normal, 14 or 12 gauge, solid copper wire spun in a drill can make a reasonably durable ~18" whip antenna for a few pennies versus the tens of dollars a commercial, stainless, antenna cost. It is a result of aligning the molecules that make up the metal and changing they way they are "bound". At least that's what I've heard, but I'm not a metallurgist.

That would be "work hardening", not annealing. Annealing softens the wire, and the method of annealing (or tempering) is dependent on the material you are using. For instance, heating a copper wire red hot and then quenching it in water will anneal it, but doing the same thing with carbon steel will harden it ;)

The fact that it looks like nylon doesn't help, at least the rayon we use looks almost like cotton.

I haven't tried it yet, just doesn't have enough body..too difficult to get right I bet.

That describes it well.. No body..

You guys have the Ehpro Bachelor right? Full size or nano? How is everyone liking it? Thinking of getting the nano, any thoughts?

Just parked mine actually, but im spoiled by the flash e-vapor. Its not bad, but there's not enough good airflow around the coil for higher power vaping. 40+. Not enough head room and there's a low air pressure point on top of the coil that allows the developement of gunk when pushing the temp. Also tends to weep through control ring... Back to old faithful FEV and vaping a dream.

I am stocking up prepairing for a worst case scenario and I bought quadrouple what I thought I would need for this, wire, and extra things like grub screws box mod kits next is batteries and DIY juice stuff. ordered a safe as well. I'm still going to try to help fight but I went to my local political gathering today and waited in line for 2hrs finally got up to the mic asked if the parties were pro or against vaping and was simplay replied with "next question please" so yeah I'm glad I'm a prepper at heart

I use my tfv4 on the rx200 just using shims until my veritube order comes in

Great job, standing up to oppression. :)

Yea, rayon half right is better then Cotton! I put Rayon in my dripbox a week later I received my 2nd dripbox and left a nicely done cotton loaded coil that came with it. 4 days later I could still taste cotton compared to the Rayon which after 6-8 pulls had no taste except banana creme! It took me several tries but it is well worth the effort. I did as advised and thinned even after the Rayon is wet. A month later and it keeps getting better!!! Non flavored even taste good. It is a shame more folks don't master this wick material. Rayon changed EVERYTHING for the better! I found I even vape less. Less juice, less Batt, less wick, less time and no rotten cotton taste:rickroll:and more :vapor::party: Thanks to Jeremy and all, for your tireless work!!!

Thanks for the review bud!

agreed. you cant beat the flavor and nic hit now if I use cotton it tastes almost chalky I say get it. for the price you cant beat it cotton costs way more tastes worse and has just as many quirks.

Exactly... Just as many or more quirks!

It took me months to finally get cotton at first. With Rayon people can be good the first day.

First try with rayon on a Gamma V2.

I went 3mm ID on the coil, which is the same as the wick hole size.

I thinned the wicking inside the tank about 50%.

On the deck i have some wick on top of the juice fill hole, again thinned about 50% compared to the wick inside the coil.

After about 1-1/2 tanks it's wicking nicely, excellent flavor. I need to try leaving it on its side some more, but no obvious leaking issues.

I have the full sized and I love it. The air flow is slightly restricted, but it is smooth and quiet, so after a short acclimation period I haven't even noticed it unless comparing it directly with something else in real time. I haven't had the seeping around the control ring that Jeremy experienced, so I can't speak to that. The flavor is outstanding, but that brings me to an update on the wick I immediately replaced the original wick with when I first got it on the 15th or 16th of April...I think (I'd have to go back through the posts to be sure of the date). It still has the original coil it came installed with.

The material looks just like the photo Jeremy posted, so I am 100% sure it's cotton since he believes it is. However, I'm getting results that are inconsistent with my limited experience with cotton. I wicked it as if it was rayon (as tight as I could possibly get it) and I thinned the tails with a 45 degree angle cut.

Since then, I have filled the tank at least once a day. More often twice a day and some days three times. For the sake of argument though, let's just call it once a day. That would be a minimum of ~150 ml (more than likely closer to twice that) and I've still had no drop-off in flavor. There were a couple of times I forgot to open back up the juice-flow control after filling it and ended up getting a dry hit, but after opening the juice-flow back up it recovered beautifully just as I've come to expect from rayon. That seems anomalous for cotton which usually hangs on to that scorched flavor for a while at least.

Since I trust Jeremy's opinion and I am thusly absolutely sure it is cotton, I can't explain the superior performance I'm getting. I have found the sweet spot for me is at 35 watts, so not pushing it too far past that without paying very close attention and continuing the habit of sufficient after-draw probably accounts for some of it, but that can't be all of it.

I'm gonna ride it out as long as I can and I'll let y'all know what the approximate final tally is when I reach the end. I'll take photos and post them when I open it back up at that time.

Oh, Heartsdelight, I did have the top fill seal pop out and had a heck of a time trying to get it back in. I finally did though and it hasn't given me any trouble since. For the price, the Bachelor is a solid tank everyone could add to their arsenal without hesitation and not get too disappointed.

Ive been told using the wicking techniques i post here makes cotton work better too. If its got knots its cotton.

The big difference is on the dry hit. Cotton fails on dry hit, rayon doesnt.

The bachelor is good, but in comparison to the flash, for me, it just cant compare. The flash isnt for everyone either. Unless they need a bullet proof tank that can take nearly any abuse, ill run it over with the car and it would be good. Lol.. shes a little heavy but that goes with its strength.

But it also isnt good for pocketing.

I already have too much stuff, but you haven't steered me wrong yet, so the flash will be at the top of my list next time I get the bug to make a vape "investment". You've said it before, but I can't remember which version you recommend.

The FEV V3 is the one to get. Built like a tank and easy to re-coil and re-wick. Since the tank just pulls off your maintenance is super easy. Filling is super easy as well and I just pour directly into the tank from a bottle, no needle tip required.

You'll need some SS mesh, just two tiny pieces, to line the holes through from the top tank to the coil chamber. I'm using 400 mesh wrapped around a rayon core. Never, ever, had a leak or seepage. I also drilled the air hole out to 3.5mm 'cause I like full lung hits. The full kit I got came with both an SS tank and a plastic, semi-clear, tank. Since I'm hard on stuff I only use the SS tank.

Yes thats a version from hotcig with the glass tank only.. I prefer the stainless tanks myself cause im hard on equipment. I would get stainless v3 and add the glass tank kit if you want it.. Just depends on you needs and glass breakability

Clones only!

First was a tobecco v2 full kit, 5ml, 8ml and dripper set, a steal at $21.. Its featured through out the first thread and beginning of this thread. Its the only tank i used for years. I also have 2 hotcig v3's . Some of the hotcigs need to be hit lightly with sandpaper in the chamber cause its too tight on the orings.

I love pouring from a 250 ml bottle to fill it! Especially using 100vg. Mines drilled to 3mm and it hits better than bachelor and serpent like this imo..

Heres the thread on ecf to see what this is about.. Of course go about halfway to get to the more recent info and perfected builds and tips.. It goes back before the rayon thread even started. Lol.

Well almost all of my rayon pictures and videos are flash based.
