You can say that again. I was cleaning my SS430 with an alcohol swab and when I went off the end of it, it snapped back and poked into my finger. It actually drew blood. I'm more careful doing that now.
I don't heat mine up or anything. I just use it as it comes. It's pretty springy, but for some reason it stays wrapped tight on the mandrel. It doesn't seem to expand much if at all and I usually have to twist the mandrel back and forth to get it to fit back inside the coil.
Yeah sometimes not annealing; wraps better for me with different wire. So I'll try it and see what it's like next time.
I've also found in some cases it matters which way you coil, against or with the spring the way it come off roll.

I don't know and I also asked that same question several months back.
I sure miss that guy and his input. Sure hope he is doing well. I would prefer to hear he just lost interest in e-cig forums than anything bad happened to him.
He used to come up with some of the best Atty mods I ever saw i.e. the raised lip around the air to the coil hole. As far as I know that was his invention using 12 Ga. ear-piercing needles. Now several Atty makers supply that as a standard feature.
Anyway I sure miss his input and friendly nature.
He has posted a few times in the Fogger V4 thread. I do miss his machining work. He sure does have a knack for modding a mod or atty and making it even better.
Sure hope your right about him dropping by Jeremy.
Around the time he disappeared I dropped him a couple of PMs with no success. He just went dark.
I remember the series vs parallel debates. I don't think you or anyone else overdid that debate. Certainly not for AMDTrucking that guys was an experimenter by birth and never seemed like the type to shy from new ideas.
And your right about his pictures. He hardly ever made a claim that he didn't back it up with EXCELLENT photos.
He made a post in the KFV4 thread about his replacement center posts, amazing work! Also posted some mods in the Taifun GT thread too.

A picture would allow us to see what's going on if possible. It could be too tight in the coil or too loose .
I was thinking about it stopping at 30w, it could be another issue.
On thing I know is Rayon likes power. Maybe just a little bit more of a draw on it to stay ahead of the wicking.?
