I rarely ever use vendor eliquids. I was just using that as an example. The only time i do is if I win it in a contest. I prefer my diy over vendor eliquids any day :) I agree with you about rayon allows me to use less flavorings too!
Ducky, when I switched from cotton yarn to rayon, I had to drop both my nic and flavor down by about 25%. Going from Evods to RTAs, I got more flavor, but I didn't care. I liked it, so I kept it that way. :p I don't drip or lung hit, so that's about it for me - I'm pretty happy now. :) Except I don't like my mechs anymore - I got spoiled by my Disrupter, so now I have to get more VW mods.

This is getting really frustrating. If I don't work this out in two or three days, I'll be going for a carton of cigarettes. It has been about 22 months.
Canno, I don't have an STM, but maybe you don't have to thin the tails, because they're short. Also, you like low watts, right? You probably don't need to thin the tails anyway, since that's mostly for better juice flow in higher power builds. Just make sure they're fluffy and not getting choked at the holes.

Wow, 22 months is a long time! Way to go! Now go for an even 2 years and get some premade coils to tide you over until you can figure out the RBA. :)

Thanks, I'll not pick up the cigs but the frustration sure makes me feel like it. After all that was when I wanted one most when I WAS smoking. I'll work something out.

22 months after smoking 55 years.

Canno you made it this far don't give up now, it's trial and error. It took me about 7 builds to get it right.
The one nice thing about the stm is its easy to do another build without losing juice. To make them super fluffy I gently blow at the ends. You can do it I have no doubt. By the way I smoked for 43 yrs 2+packs a day.

If nothing else, I'll rebuild the OCCs with rayon. I feel sure I can make that work. Plus my Lemos are working pretty good.
The rba with the big holes is the one you want! Try the pancake wicking method. I use a 3mm coil but that should not make a difference.

If the Wick isnt long you don't necessarily need to thin it at all.. Subtank is a small deck. Just cut the Wick to fit and touch the holes you should be fine.

Each build is different, you need to find whats right. If theres any problems the coloring in the Wick will point you to it.

I was always told to stay away from Rayon. That it was nothing more than man made cotton with properties that are not suitable for vaping. Thinking about ordering some anyway.

Its frustrating that this mantra was spread so wide in the community. Its not your fault.

I would say, a purified cellulose more like, and properties that make it More suitable for vaping... a scientifically advanced Wick...

Its good stuff, i think you'll notice a big difference, especially if you want to turn up the power.. I've laid it all out, we will give you guidance, so you've got nothing to lose giving it a try..

Properties not suitable for vaping? Really?
It wicks better, vaporizes juice better, lasts longer, why is that not suitable.?

I think you'll find they were all wrong. :)

If you haven't already, try wicking the sub tank the same way you do the lemo. That is what worked for me.I wicked my lemo with fat tails, only thinning them by half, pretty much filling the gap,but not blocking the channels, and it worked great,so i tried it on my st and same results,no dry hits or leaking.

Yes, I did too! I went from 9mg to 8mg and when it still was too much i then went down to 5mg. After sticking at 5mg for a while I had to go to 4mg, and thrn ended up going to 3mg! Lol I still get a nic buzz at 3mg sometimes! Haha I have been vaping 2mg lately too, but I am not ready yet to let go of my 3mg ;) I do not take direct lung hits either. Sometimes I get a little frisky and every now and then I will do a lung hit on my isub, but if I do more than one my chest gets irritated a little. That's also one of the reasons why I do not use my big rda very much, because if I inhale alot it bothers my chest a little the next day. I never had anything vaping bother my chest until I had that chest wall injury back in February. My chest wall still bothers me if I lift or pull on something heavy.

I tried the pancake method, I tried just like my Lemo. Neither worked. I use 60/40 pg/vg and both ways flooded. I finally got something working pretty good today. No problems so far. I wicked, fluffed the tails good and trimmed just a little. Put the barrel on and cut just above it, tucked the rayon down with it touching the large holes.

If you leak you know you need more Wick at the juice ports or channels. If it leaks still, you can always add or tuck tufts of Rayon where needed to control the juice without rewicking...

Like If you end up with a gap at the hole, and some leaking, stuff a little piece in with a needle to fill the gap.

How you set up the Wick will depend on many factors one being power level. If I'm vaping a single coil at 45w, my Wick will probably be a little different than one run at 20w..

I like to take long slow deep lung hits. No way I can handle 40 watts like that. As long as I can satisfy my nicotine addiction without harshness and with some decent taste, which I think rayon will help me do, I'm a happy old fart.

I thought for a minute I was off topic but I did mention rayon.
