Evic VT 60W is the mod.

TC

To me it has something to do with the ramp up and exploding vapor. With tc it cuts and reduces the Power. For some reason the stabile temp is not the same as stable power. It loses that pop or aggressiveness from straight power.

Also I noticed my coils gunked faster with tc. It may be due to my vaping and taking weaker draws and not continuing the draw after hit because it was cooler and less aggressive. My vaping style weakened considerably with tc and I had to revert myself back to aggressive vaping style when I went back.

I may do some tc again since I can flip flop with stainless. It has its place, for me like maybe at night or if I'm under the weather. At these times my vaping weakens. But u can just as equally just turn the power down 5w and still get the vape of runaway voltage that is not capped. The capping takes away the heat potential and the punch imo.

Not saying tc isn't good, it's different and not all will like it as much as others. I don't get too down with it yet..

With rayon I don't have to. :)
.

as im sure you know the evic vt(not the mini) has issues w/tc and in particular ss, its what ive read on the evic thread, not being able to upgrade the firmware could be the prob. so yes maybe try another proven tc mod.
i havent tried tc on my evic mini as i dont have any temp wire, as of yet.

Ah I say stick to what makes you happy, I'm sure you will give TC another go when you get a different device.

I think I'm going to get a VT200, the price is right and it's proven to be a good device. I plan on integrating Bluetooth to allow me to send profiles wirelessly.

28 ml and counting. With several different set-ups going at the same time, I have to write it down somewhere or I'll lose track. I figured this was as good of a place as any.
lol, ive done that somewhat, problem is ur going to b counting the time the coil gets gunked up, the rayon is just laughing at 4oomls

Probably right about that, but at 480 F it's producing a pretty satisfying vape...for now anyway. We'll see how long it takes untill it needs a scrape, wipe and rinse.

BTW, battery life sucks with TC. I don't think I can put up with it for this entire experiment. The good news is that with SS I can run it in power mode with equally good results. TC was kind of handy for the break-in phase (with TC there really isn't much of a break-in phase to speak of), so there's that I guess.

I ran a build up to about 400ml, an approximation based on time and refill frequency. The coil was the real problem, gunked pretty badly by that point. The wicks rinsed clean and white when I finally pulled it apart.
yup, when i hear it still sizzling after i released the power button i know my coil is gunked.
w/out taking it apart some quick pulses w/higher power might flake some of the gunk off but its a short term solution as a rewick is inevitable.
so much maintenance w/only a few hundred mls of vaped juice

I have never washed a wick.

The easy way to make the loose gunk pop off is to really really soak the wick and coil, then hit it at high power and it will flash boil and pop the loose gunk off. This many times happens naturally and you will see black specs in pictures of long lasting wicks like mine. The black pieces don't seem to have any negative effect or add any off taste to the vape at all. Mearly cosmetic.

Unlike cotton I have never seen gunking stick to a coil with rayon. You should be able to wipe it right off if you need to. Then soak it down real good and flash boil it by hitting it with high power while really soaked, and you'll be fresh again. (reasonably high)

My biggest problem has been the coils of these flimsy wires. And keep in mind I used 32g for years until just last year. But these flimsies drive me nuts!

Part of it is the screws on my posts I believe, and the springiness. The coils are loose on my mandrel and when I tighten the screws it pulls the ends tight while leaving the center loose. Or I mess with it trying to make it tight by twisting it on the mandrel but it only gets the ends tight. I guess I'll have to go back to heating the wire first to use the ss. I just didn't like how soft it got afterwards.

But seriously with 32g I never had this problem, even stuffing Rayon tight in that little wire.

But the good thing is I'm still able to run them for a long time till I'm ready to rewick. Just have to keep the wicks wet cause it won't run them as dry as a full contact wick.

Cotton would absolutely Not be usable in these conditions. It would burn and dry hit like crazy.

I am going to PIF a mod and STM to a friend who is going to try vaping again. He will never build coils.

I am happy to report that a day or two later I loaned him another STM with an rda in it wicked with rayon and he was amazed at the difference. He had me pick up some rdas and when he gets back in town he is coming over to learn how to build and wick. He didn't seem the type, surprise.

Nice. That's an interesting tank. Let us know how you like it, after you've had a chance to live with it a bit.
I haven't used it a lot but I can tell you some. The build quality seems great. No leaking. Very easy to build and wick. With my limited building skills, I can run much higher wattage on it than I can on my other single coil tanks. I hit 40 watts with no problems. The adjustable juice control looks as if it would be great for whatever your PG/VG ratio.
