Ukeman.

You may use the AFC base with any 510 mod.

The other one with the air flow through the 510 must be used on a mod that has air flow channels (grooves, slots) or some other means of allowing air flow to reach the 510 connector.

I haven't seen the Bishopheels video you mention but seeing him with rubber gloves intrigues me.

Well Sedge, I am off to build my new Flash-e-vapor for the first time! I think I have armed myself with the proper information courtesy of this thread.....I will be using #200 mesh for the transport wick. We shall see how it goes.....thanks again for posting your build tips! I will let you know how she vapes... :)

Just make sure the transport wicks are just touching the top of your cotton wick and not crushing them down

Well I got it built and it seems to be vaping excellent! I put a new tobacco juice in there and I'm getting great flavor!

Here's how I did my wick. I went with 26ga 6 wrap which came out to about .8ish ohms.

Wicked it with Japanese cotton. I cut my transport wicks (200 mesh) to 10x60mm.

And it seems to be wicking well! Time will tell if the 200 mesh can keep up with the wicking. But so far so good! :)

Looks great JP. How's the length of the transport wicks?

I know many folks run cotton tails down on the deck. I never found it necessary as I never get juice pooling and I found the short wicks wick better.

Let us know how it goes. Super happy for you.
Well the length was good, but I unfortunately found that I was getting dry hits. So I don't think that the 200 mesh was keeping up quite enough. I think I need to get some 50 mesh like you use.

For now I took out the mesh and am using the cotton rope (ortmann fiber) that was included with the atty. I am on my way to work and brought the FeV with me, so we'll see how it does throughout the day...

Going to order some 50 mesh today though....

I use 400/500 mesh in mine. Just use less (ie, so it's not as tighly rolled). It keeps up wicking just fine.

In your picture, one side almost looks sealed shut. It's too tight

Yeah, I think I rolled it too tight as well. I will play around with a slightly "looser" rolled mesh wick tonight and see how it goes. Thanks for the tip!! :)

I agree. Any mesh should work. I've used several successfully. I just went down to the 50 because I was trying to go below 0.2 ohms. I kept it in there since. But if your roll it more loosely and/or roll on a larger mandrel it should work fine.
