Do I HAVE to have an rda for the 5Gvape Ice Spider? Or can I just use an rta (WITH a protruding thing like the beserker)

No, an RTA will work just fine. If you start DIY i would recommend an rda for testing flavors though.

I need a mech like a hole in my head... but something about that spider just appeals to me. Maybe buy it an rda and stick them in the vape closet for the fda end times

If you get that and a dripper, use them at home. An RDA is real nice to have. In my opinion a better vape and easy to build on. Get one that is convertable to squonk. Most new 22mm are. Even if you aren't into them now you may change your mind, and you will have that option. I think a squonk box is more suited to your style of vaping. It has the flavor of an RDA with the convenience of a tank. I agree though that mod looks real nice.
