If I could move anywhere, it would be to Texas, I like how that state rolls.
Mine, not so much. They just approved a huge teacher raise after some of the most annoying demonstrations ever. Although to be fair, perhaps some parents feel it "cost effective" in comparison to losing their jobs or finding sudden, unexpected child care costs. Oddly, it was the republicans in the house that voted for it, I don't understand.
If there are two professions that can strike with the greatest ease, it's bus drivers (that was last year, I think) or stuff like teachers. They have an unfair advantage as far as disrupting society.
I really thought they wouldn't triumph after disclosing their (half the year) salaries compared to the rest of Tucson. I still don't MIND a pay raise (teaching is hella hard) but I wish they'd tied some performance incentives to it. Teachers have to work hard but I'm pretty sure in Tucson they do not work HARD enough (based on our abysmal record).
