LOLZ, I attended Swarthmore College. We are whatever division is the lowest, as far as sports.
One of my favorite (and funniest) things of all time was watching the football team get beaten INTO the ground, I mean, I think the final score was like 21-3 ! It was great, because no one was really there.
It's rather sad when you have to focus your sports budget into Lacrosse, because they barely had enough PLAYERS to play. I'm afraid I don't have much "sports pride" although I was pleased to get into what was at the time, the number one liberal arts college. Who also at the time (they're pretty well funded) accepted students on merits alone, and did not charge any student or family without the means to pay with enormous financial debt. I mean, yeah, you have to find a way to live, so there was some debt, but if you were "good" enough to achieve admission but poor, you did not pay tuition.
Many fond memories of that place, but they (mostly) were not sports related.
I emailed one of my favorite profs recently, and he remembered me! LOL, always shocked when that happens. He also gave me the nicest, kindest feedback on my book about 18 months ago. I could tell he was pretty horror-struck, but he pointed me in the right direction. Heh.
Looking back, I feel intense remorse for the dude, he was like, "Oh I'd be happy to recommend you to my editor." I was like, "Oh that is so nice, but seriously read a bit first...."
He gave me TON of aid but there was no further mention of his editor, lemme put it that way. Of course, that's how you learn if you didn't complete an MFA (I didn't). The feedback of others taught me how to write. My story is okay, but you have to know how to WRITE. Heh.
