Good morning shiny folks who are up early like meg!

Oooh, I have extra money in my pocket and it's burning a hole. Trying to hold off for a bit ,since when I HAVE money, I usually will get an unexpected expense. It's unfortunate, but that seems to be how it goes.

I want a dot mod squonker, but I am also fearful of blowing myself up. Eh decisions decisions. I'm a lot more careful than many users but I also have a habit of dropping stuff big time.

Probably a good idea to wait, I'd never take a mechanical out of the house either, isn't that the entire point? LOL. For all I know, the dot nod has some built in protections, but it's the only squonker that currently appeals to me, etc.

You will be so happy with one, you won't blow yourself up as you have a good understanding of Ohm's Law from building in the past..I love them for their ability to give the flavor of an RDA without the hassle of packing around a bottle of e-juice wherever you go.. Just fill the squonk bottle and go..
Glad to see you've joined the crowd.. Infamous Vapes I believe has 30% off this weekend too. Might want to look at the trinity glass chuff cap too..to go with the Dot RDA..

wait, now what is that behind it? Behind and to the left
That would be a Hohm Wrecker G2 LE, the big brother of the Slice.

I have two of them, great mod but a little boxy and many don't like the symbols. The FSK chip will TC Kanthal, Ni80 and any other non TC wire quite nicely! It will also fire down to 0.007Ω on paper, but the best I could do was a 0.02Ω build.

Discontinued from HΩ Tech though because of some FDA thing, Vapor Cube had a big blow out sale quite a while back.

No, I really want a regulated squonker but I haven't seen one that appeals to me. I'm not SO worried about a mech (although it's good information to know about dotmod, it's just the only squonker that visually appeals to me. I'm not going to pay that type of money if it's badly and unsafely designed though. I don't think I'd blow myself up, I understand the principles involved and how to use one, I know some things to watch out for. I just would never, ever bring a mech out of the house, and that's kind of what squonkers almost seem designed for. IDK. The regulated mods I have seen tend to be .... ugly.

Hence, my not getting anything yet. But, I believe it is the year of the squonker, one will come along to suit, eventually. LOL.

Regulated squonker FTW, you throw any build in the RDA, dial up the power you want and vape it till the batteries need to be changed. Same vape from start to finish, no muss no fuss.

I struggled for quite a while trying to find a build for that Pulse pseudo mechanical squonker that I liked. Either ramp up was way too slow on decent coils or the build had that "tootle puffer" vapor density of a finely tuned Kayfun. And then the battery starts to die off, the quality of the vape gets progressively reduced and you swap out another battery. Some of the "Mech Only" vape snobs at the local B&M carried 8 batteries with them for a days outing...

I likes em hot and greasy, so I have to adjust accordingly with single cell unregulated squonkers.

I'm curious, how will knowledge of Ohm's law prevent a badly designed switch from frying itself into permafiring?

It won't hence my statement that I will not be buying one as adorably lovely as it is. LOL, I wasn't arguing, I think I stated in my last /post that that particular option is off the table now for me. I'm certainly not able to fix or even approach an issue like that.

However, thanks for saving me money. It's right around the time of year my son's dog gets bitten by a rattlesnake, and she's a breed not up for dealing with it. She needs medical attention at once. The last time it happened, well, my mom ended up paying over 2 K as the darn dog got bit by a baby, and required not one, but two anti-venin injections, she was a total mess.

I'd rather my kid have his "life" dog, than I have a "live" squonker. If I do end up squonking, I want it to be FANTASTIC, but not in the way you are describing, @untar

LOL.

I don't squonk, but I only use regulated mods for the reasons that you stated. Why build to a certain ohm, when you can just adjust wattage to your preference.
