Man, I am the antithesis of shiny at the moment. I just got done digging
through all the sheds for mah "children" aides for this interview (which, OMG, I thought *I* was animated, I'm going to be having the husband exit the house out of
shame due to how animated other folks in this program seem to be... You don't learn a language over the internet while SCREETCHING it to them, surely? (Even if you smile as you screech). But, watched enough videos to know what I was in for.
It was so sad, I have THOUSANDS of dollars worth of therapy/art/kid materials in the shed, like my freaking DOLLHOUSE, which *I* didn't even have one growing up, not even a Barbie, LOL, sand trays, everything else. My little brother is skyping me to set up my teacher area so that I can figure out where to shove everything, I have lost my wireless headset for my computer but did find another pair.
Man, it really made me think of all my years working as a SW but I
still don't know whether I want to go back to it. I mean, I wish I could but it's just not feasible.
I gotta sit a minute though. The husband is being super supremely not helpful, either. He started in on my clutter at which point my eyes got really big and I was about to emphasize that he could certainly work part time, not ME, only then he was all like, "Don't make me feel more guilty than I already am," so I zipped it. If his lack of aid is guilt, well, it's not like he probably won't be laid up with health issues over the next year and etc.
That's the thing though, you sign up with one of those employment thingies, they want you to apply for EVERYTHING, it isn't like I won't get another chance, but man, it's frustrating. LOL. I just applied to a company where they invited me to look over their materials and it's web marketing and development and SEO and whatnot, I would not care to do that job, even as a "scribe" or whatever they call it, even part time. I realize they're useful but to me, the work of the devil.
There seems to be a much less zany ESL program on offer that I believe I might vastly prefer, they seem to be sane etc.
Oh well, at least it is keeping me busy on my "weekend." LOL. Also, glad I started all this before my mom's visit, not afterward. I'm fairly certain I can find some thing part time (whatever it is) that means we won't starve, more or less.
