I majored in construction electricity, so I learned more than the average student. But I forgot so much... it’s been almost 40 years since I had to think about most of it. And we didn’t get very much instruction on batteries, if any, so I can still say I am learning more through vaping than school, lol.

I meant that some of the reviewers on YouTube, the way they speak, I don’t want to see how they mangle the language in writing. I’m sure that’s not the case across the board. And I’m not perfect, I misspell, can’t type worth a darn. But still, I think if someone is trying to make a living writing, they ought to at least know when to use an apostrophe and the difference between they’re and there. There are shops I won’t buy from because “RDA’s” pokes my eye lol.
Local store started offering hot and ready lunches. So of course I went to check it out. Well it was Tuesday, and the woman at the counter asked what she could do for me. I said she could take the apostrophe out of “Taco’s”. And I’ve never gotten lunch there.
If the info is good and the writer is a straight shooter or the taco is delicious I could give a hoot where they put the apostrophe. I was raised by a judgemental person and vowed I would not travel that road.
Well I warned you, I’m a jerk, lol.
Really, I live in Ohio, ground zero for people who think they’re all geniuses and complain about people who don’t speak the language, yet put random apostrophes where they don’t belong.
I’m not critical of people in general though. But if we want our kids to know spelling and grammar, it’s not helping when signage is incorrect. It’s not helpful when news anchors say “seen” when “saw” is correct. I had a teacher who said “so guess who I seen?” I thought she should have been fired. I don’t care if my pool guy says it, but a teacher? Yeah I’m going to be all judgmental on that. I can’t help it. It drives me crazy.
Also, I graduated from trades school. I never went to college, but my best friend did, she’s a lawyer and her parents were a lawyer and an English professor. She will cut me off mid sentence and correct my grammar. She edits my texts. And then she’ll apologize, and I just laugh and thank her. I love it. She’s still trying to get me to grasp the lay/lie/laid/layed thing that’s always confounded me.
Kids and adults spelling and grammar skills will be extinct in another decade. Technology does it for you now. They stopped teaching cursive writing here. It simply isn't needed much anymore in the world.
If you're writing on paper it just means you've got something to hide from the internet. Essentially you're a terrorist
I much prefer written reviews now that yt reviews are so diluted. The excitement of getting something new or original is missing these days. I mainly just use yt to get a look at decks or mod menu tutorial.
I mainly use YT as a media center, can't be arsed to operate a CD player on a hot summer day
Same here, love yt music compilations. You can find anything to match your mood or soothe the soul.
I have to do a lot of writing and I have editors that are absolutely ruthless.
