Kids and adults spelling and grammar skills will be extinct in another decade. Technology does it for you now. They stopped teaching cursive writing here. It simply isn't needed much anymore in the world.

I remember the first essay I had to write at school, age around 5. The topic was, my walk to school today.

Instead of writing "this morning" I wrote "the smorning". Never seen it written down before, and that's what it sounds like. The teacher wrote it up on the blackboard so the whole class could laugh at me. Yeah, I remember it 60+ years later.

Nowadays anything goes. Tenses on verbs are gone, Nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are interchangeable. Sentence structure, what's that?

We were told that it was impossible to exchange complex ideas in sloppy language, and maybe impossible to even have complex thoughts without precise language. I don't know how true that is but I suspect it's at least partly true.

Good morning all. I find myself at times being agitated by grammar, it seems to be getting worse as I age, and don't even get me started on others shorten the language by using "U" and b4 and many others..or IDK leaving it up others to decipher the meanings.

I would highly recommend you never listen to CardiB talk in an interview. It's almost inconceivable that someone born in this country could have so little grasp of the language. I listened to her once and wanted to put a pencil in each ear and quickly jam them hard enough to make the leads touch.

A group I’m in, recently a person posted, apologizing for her English as it’s not her first language. Another woman replied “ but your doing real good!”

My aunt and uncle are retired teachers and have commented that while kids are more articulate verbally these days their handwriting skills are appalling. Now if they are allowed to use the computer in class their written/typed work is on par with their verbal skills. It's as if they cannot write a fluid thought but they can type one.

Wait, the name "CardiB" wasn't you're first clue?

So SF gets flavors banned.
Juice makers/vaping accused of being aimed at kids.

Not 100% sure this sale is a great idea.

Although if it's a intentional and sly "up yours" to the opposition...bravo!

Interesting. I heard, years ago, that there’s a difference between what a person can understand when spoken, what he understands when read, and what he can recal to write. If we’re just freely writing whatever we want, we’ll only use about 2/3 of our vocabulary. Stands to reason there’s a difference between what we type or write.
