I don’t mind them, but they suck here in town.

I have had, uh that thought on many occasions whilst driving in Tucson. I'm from the East Coast (well, at least that is where I learned to drive.) LOL my dad "taught" me. First, he made me check all the fluids. Second, he made me change (all four tires) and then I started "driving." LOL, THEN he made me drive around the beltway both directions, and exit and enter every exit. He made me parallel park. He made me um learn 3 point turns. I passed my driving test with flying colors.

THEN, it was agreed that I could go on a "cautious outing" FOLLOWING my dad. I'm afraid I uh, backed out of the driveway and INTO a glass truck and shattered all the glass on the truck and part of the truck. It was a sad moment for me, because like, I KNEW I couldn't leave but my dad had happily taken off and returned to the scene of the crime, and the truck owner came flying around the house and I was busily confessing my sins as it were (my dad also taught me not to do THAT either, but man, it kinda I mean EXACTLY and completely was 100% my fault.

I didn't do a lot of unaccompanied driving for a while, also I had to pay back every cent with my waitressing money LOL. It sucked.

But my point is, the East coast (at least back then) went FAST. When I moved to Tucson, well, people were saying, "You don't mind driving 45 minutes?" and I was like "Why should I?" I learned. The Tucson municipality sets their lights ON PURPOSE to stop you at every red light, and they call it "Traffic Calming" only I don't find it CALMINNG. LOL there are a few streets that don't do that, and I use them. I also like the option of following a snowbird who's acting like a twit, turning off my AC a moment and entering 2nd gear and just ZOOMING past them on a (tiny) area that's legal to pass and they always speed up (passive aggressive, one would call driving here) and well, I still "win." LOL.

I did once try to "beat" the traffic calming system but you really just have to go double the speed limit, weaving in and out of old people, unlicesened residents (for a REASON they are unlicesensed) and like the odd bicycle or two and a few confused or drugged pedestrians. .I only did it once to find out if it was indeed possible, and it is, but if a cop had seen me I think my license would have been revoked. LOL. Sadly, I drive GREAT at high speeds (I pay good attention) but I'll hit you parallel parking or something.

I still appreciate my gears, but yea it's tiring sometimes. LOL.

I’m just thinking if the new ones are as good as the older ones, if I buy one now, it could be the last I ever need.
I wouldn't bet on it! Ask anyone who's bought new appliances after having their old appliances for decades.

New stuff tends to be built to wear out faster.

My parents had a washing machine that they got when we moved when I was 5. It was going long after I left home. My father replaced the motor once and the bearings several times. I remember helping him, handing him tools that is. It weighed a ton, it was overengineered, simple, and easy to work on. I doubt you could have dented the steel case with a hammer. Had the amount of electronics you would expect from 1955.

You can still get solid reliable washing machines. I used to install them in group homes where they would be grossly overloaded and run a dozen times a day. They would kill a regular washing machine in 6 months. But they cost more. People would rather have cheap even if it means short lived.

A bit like Provaris I guess.

Got the sjmy doggystyle up and running. I'm on a 0.5 ohm coil :sneaky: - at 14 watts, so I can't join the mod-wompers just yet ;)

@NolaMel : if you haven't already - grab some of the sjmys. Airflow is just awesome.
Mine is somewhere between China and here. Also ordered extra glass for the sxk doggy. I’m not going to check the tracking, it drives me crazy!!! My Aegis will be here Friday ... that should entertain me for a while. I still want the Vaporesso armour pro, if I can find the dark blue. And I need 21700 batteries, and probably a new charger. Battery Mooch is next on my list, and some DIY. My last mixes are ready to vape.

Speaking of cars, just cleaned mine out and it wasn't as bad as the After Smoking clean, but man it's like 106 out there. I feel like this weird combo of mild heatstroke and nasty chemicals. I'm assuming the feeling will subside, much like the Raid Incident. LOL> I hate cleaning that thing due to my kiddo's dog. Her hair is sometimes longer than mine, I think and mine's down my back now. At least hers is kind of wavy so I can tell it's not mine. She rides in my car at least once a week, and every time it's tumbleweeds.

No wonder my kid's obsessed with vacuums, LOL. The shop vac doesn't do a great job even.

Oh well there is only so much clean my car will get. Also, the husband had a giant meltdown about my interviews, LOL. At first it was all like, "You are going to have a crazy time! You are not CAPABLE of doing it" (That one was ongoing for a while until I told him he needed to never say that again. LOL, the truth surfaced, he feels guilty and worthless. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about that, I've told him on multiple occasions he has lived with chronic pain all his life since 18 and he's probably about to have another surgery here.

I think it is the nature of the beast to feel that way when one is not working and etc. I feel really bad, but we also need income, and it's a lot easier for ME to work part time than him, I think.

IDK. Good times .LOL.

I didn’t get my license till I was 21, learned to drive with my husband and baby in the truck.

See, when I turned 16, lived at home, there was only one car, my mom’s, and my sister drove that to work. I’m the youngest, and we were the last two to fledge.

If I’d lived in the city, I never would have gotten my license. I’d have been a bus rider. I’m totally phobic about driving. My dad was killed in a car accident, and I saw two people die in one when I was like five. Needless to say, those are not things easily forgotten. But I do have a perfect driving record. And I can parallel park the mustang. The truck, uh, no lol.

I just replaced my 18 year old Maytag with another similar model. I’ve had good luck with Maytag.

But I’m saying, my truck is on the newer side, and it’s fine. Ten years old? I don’t think all that much has changed in ten years for trucks. I dunno.

Morning shinies :)

I've got a teeny car - pretty similar to the one below.

With 2 border collies that jump in as soon as I open the door (can't go anywhere without them), its always fun taking my neice & nephew to school ;)

One of the best things I ever saw in my life... A few years ago on vacation it seemed like we saw Jaguars every where we went. Beautiful cars. Saw one that was white. I was thinking, ugh, who spends that much on a white car? When it turned, I saw it was a station wagon! I didn’t even know they made those, lol, like seriously who buys a white Jaguar station wagon? Then I saw two enormous Newfoundlands in the back end!

I turned to my husband and said, “That Guy there just went from total dork to my personal hero.” He loved that because he bought this truck extended cab just so the dogs could go for a ride.

Love a straight drive sports car. Learned to drive in my grandfather's 5 speed carolla.
My Avalanche is 13 years old with just over 200k. No desire to replace it lol.

Been working on a new gazebo today, PIA but done.

The blue raz slush flavor arrived from one stop, cant recall what percentage yall used. Probably mix tomorrow as I'm beat.
Can someone refresh me?
