Woo hoo! Managed to "persuade" Mrs OG to buy me some vape kit for birthday. Provided I don't go completely overboard cost wise, that means an entry level backup mod.

Not happy with the idea of ordering stuff from HK, I know I will get better value and more choice, but knowing my luck UK customs will either seize it or charge me a load of duty.

Was thinking of this [Wismec Luxotic BF Box with Tobhino BF rda]:

Any better suggestions / ideas welcome, especially as to good UK suppliers and sources of discount kit.
Our @Skunk! just got one and seems pretty happy with it.

I would get a Pico Squeeze 2 instead of the Luxotic. It's a regulated adjustable mod so you don't have to keep trying different builds until you find one you like, as you have to do on the Luxotic since it's similar to a mechanical (PiTA).

Comes with the Coral 2 RDA and a 21700 battery, (not one of the best 21700's but will serve the purpose) UK Vendor.

@Old Greybeard I have a Luxotic and it's a decent little box but there are a few things that bug me about it. It's enough to keep it at the back of my rotation most of the time. Mainly it's the bottle system and the magnetically attached metal cover on the bottom. It moves when you squonk hard. I know it's minor but it still irks me. Also, it's a little on the messy side to refill since you have to pry and rotate the bottle a bit to get it loose. Also that metal tube isn't great to feel when you press on the bottle.

It's probably no secret that I'm a huge fan of the Armageddon MFG squonk boxes. They're simple little plastic boxes with silver internals. They feel great in the hand and are easy to maintain. There's nothing like the way they hit when you get your build just right. They come in a bunch of different box/door color combos, too.

They are getting a bit hard to find now since I don't think they're making any more of them. The good news is that the price has come down, though. You can find them as low as 70-80 bucks now. I think something like the Pulse BF or the Pulse 80W would be a better choice than the Luxotic, though.

Pretty sure they make it in the motor pool, cause it's like motor oil

Don't mind if my coffee has the consistency of cold VG, provided it tastes good and gives me a decent buzz. McDonalds coffee really is probably the most wretched stuff I can think of, it always tastes to me like they have boiled up the burnt scrapings from the griddle and thrown in a spoonful of instant. Their Cappuccino isn't much better. I keep on falling into the same trap and try it every few years to see if it has approved, but no. As you can tell, I will never fall into the category of a loyal customer - I abandoned any commitment to the brand when they started serving Bacon and Egg McMuffins with solid [powdered?] egg, rather than with a runny yolk. Used to live on the things. Saying that, I've only had one or two bad meals there in almost 40 years, which is pretty good considering.

Current coffee pot is an Italian stovetop job, and makes pretty good stuff. My other half killed my Bodium cafetiere [dropped it IIIRC], and my espresso machine died due to old age and overwork.

I've now honoured my shiny commitment for today.

Thanks @Tralfaz, that's good to know. It's the little things that eat away at you, and take away from the enjoyment. My Reuleaux RX2 had a squeaky/loose back cover, every time I pressed the fire button it moved a fraction of a mil, drove me potty until I fixed it by padding out the batteries ever so slightly.

Absolutely agree!! A friend of mine and his wife swear by it. They even buy it in K-Cups and cans to make at home.
They claim they like it because it's the same no matter which McDonald's they go to anywhere in the country. They know what to expect.

Consistency is nice, but it's constantly bad!! Takes a small dairy farm and a cane field to make it palatable.

Happy Fall Day happy shiny people!

We got sick of $100 coffee makers that lasted less than 2 years so our last $18 Mr. Coffee still works but the on-light quit and the carafe has a light star-crack so it's sitting in the box on a basement shelf after 3-4 years of loyal daily service. Our current $18 Mr. Coffee has been making hot brown water flawlessly for about 3 years. We let it make a decent pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain every so often.

Fireluke Mesh tanks arrived today. Very nice! On par with Smok's TFVx coils with flavor and thick, chunky vapor. I'm really impressed with the juice flow through the wicks. So many factory coils suffer from poor flow. These don't. I think I could probably push them beyond the 90W rec stamped on the coil with the right VG/PG blend but that's not my style, so... maybe once or twice.

These are the first factory coil tanks I've bought in more than a year.

Think I'll snag some of the SS316 coils and see what we get TC wise.

Check out @Coastal Cowboy blogs about squonking for some good info.
Also @TrollDragon, @Tralfaz, @jfcooley, @Letitia , and a couple of others could point you to some nice BF mods.
They are our resident squonking maniacs, lol.

I'm more of a TC fanatic than a squonkaholic. Though I do love my Pulse 80W and my Pico Squeeze originals get nightly use. Squonk mods are only a consideration in my book. My last two purchases were the Paranormal and the Cylon. I'm unlikely to buy another mod until Christmas (that's my story, dammit).

I love mine. As TD said it behaves like a mechanical so. if you are looking for an adjustable regulated mod it isn't one. The 100W name makes it seem like it is. If you want to learn mechmods though it is a good starter kit. It is protected.and shouldn't fire a shorted atty. You have to be mindful of your amp limits of your batteries when using this. Chech all your builds on a regulated and use aj ohms glcalculator. 100W is enough power to get in trouble with the wrong build on the wrong battery. I do love mine. It is a hard hitting well made tiny little device. I got the kit for $35 at Eightvape. I saw it a few other places for the same price. US stores though.

We got one of these:

upload_2018-9-22_11-48-45.jpeg

Pardon, I got into coffee when I got sober. I don't require it to be good, I require it to be oceanic. We hook it up to a timer, and we use actual coffee, not Folgers. But again, I don't require it to be GOOD just that there be enough of it (although we don't have the 80 pot size, there is liking a lot of coffee and then, well INSANITY).

I have figured out why I feel like, unfortunate. I am having an outbreak of, well, I like to call it Herpes Simplex Type 1, AKA "cold sores" only I get this extreme immune reaction where I get them all over the place on my face, and also feel like I have the flu. I have not had this happen in well, 8 years probably, but the treatment (for me) is the same as Herpes the bad kind I take a bunch of like, Acyclovir and don't kiss anyone till I'm better which is fine.

My poor kiddo in grade school, my habitual usage of "adult terminology" meant that when some chick discussed her cold sore my kid said, "Oh my mom gets those it's actually called herpes Simplex--"
POW (right in the face, from the chick) "I DO NOT HAVE HERPES!"

LOL I'm sure you can guess which kid got in trouble and which mom had to stifle her laughter (uncontrollable) as she attempted to discuss the differences between type 1 and type 3 to administrators.

Crazy person left me a few "I am trying to induce guilt in you, but not only did I IGNORE them, I only noticed them like 5 minutes ago. Thought provoked was ,"Sorry my dear, I've got HERPES so I don't even feel remotely guilty."

Talked to the mom, she was unusually giddy and happy and told me ALL ABOUT Hajj and I mean EVERY detail. LOL I asked if it was like labor and if she wanted to go back yet, she said, "No all of us there decided we had NO wish to ever return. She got trampled at one point! OMG, also, I consider my LIFE to be a spiritual pilgrimage and have no need to add things.

She did crayzee stuff like walk barefoot for four hours on marble, too. LOL I told her that it sounded like the Muslim version of Mardi Gras and I was thrilled to have a "Superhero Mommy made of Teflon." LOL she was cute I don't mind if she like, NEVER comes off this spiritual high, we talked for like 2 hrs.

I recently saw original Pulse BF mods on Ebay for under 20 bucks with free shipping from a reputable seller.

Here it is - Pulse BF Mech Squonk Mod | eBay

You could do a helluva lot worse for 20 bucks.
The Pulse BF is my work mod. I own 4. I picked them up when Eightvape had them for $15. They are built better than a lot of more expensive devices. Nothing fancy but they are a good mod. 18650/20700 (21700 with a file and sandpaper) Mine have been through hell and look and work like the day I got them. @Old Greybeard They are unprotected mechanicals but if you are mindful of your builds you will be fine. I don't have experience with the 80W but I have heard good things.

I have the Pulse BF, Luxotic, Furyan and 4 DNA squonkers.
The DNAs get the most use as they are easy to build for and have USB charging.

I still need to put that iSwitch board into my Pulse but have been working on transplanting the board from the VooPoo Drag into a wooden case for the Titan. I just need to sogotp.

Do you want a mech, unregulated or regulated squonk?
I could give recommendations along most of those. Everyone has a personal preference so what some like others wont.

Also technically you arent buying it so you could go psuedo custom with something like viscous ant......

Give us some details on what you are looking for.....
