The way I see it is I was dropping $250 a month on cigarettes. I don't feel guilty buying new gear as long as it stays cheaper than smoking, which it does. By far.

I'm sure I spend more on vaping than I did on smoking. I was less than 1 pack a day up until the end of the analogs. Maybe, quick math shows that a pack a day of $8 smokes equals about $230 a month. So yea I do save money lol. I've never actually stopped to figure that out.

Well you tell me, November will mark my 25th year on this planet lol. I am glad though that I found vaping a few years ago before 6 years of smoke turned into 50..or less.

I've been eyeing up a white lamy safari but I just dont like the looks if I'm honest. I like the ovalish cigar shaped pens. I also dont do a ton of writing, well at work I do. But a machine shop is way to dirty for the likes of a fine pen. I tried and found myself cleaning more than writing. My money has to focus on one hobby at a time and it was vaping this time. I think a new Spyderco knife will show up around Christmas next. My nitro rc cars need some love too..
I have kids older than you ;). Kudos on being smarter than an old fart like me and quitting now!! Definitely focus on getting the right vape gear since your health comes first. Fountain pens have fallen out of favor, so antique/junk/consignment shops are a great place to find them super cheap. I snagged a Lamy at a junk shop for $5! Fortunately never used, so the nib was good.

meh..not so much here... think im buying in advance of my cig usage... but hey... Im good with that..:banana::banana:

after going down 1 shiny rabbit hole after another, I think I have finally found what I like to vape on..I've actually loved the journey... What more could one ask for?
We’re at a different point in life....many of my major expenses are done with... My kids are grown, out of college and married , house is finally paid off... sometimes getting older has its benefits. Like more money to spend on “hobbies” :)

I haven’t had time to do much shiny damage. I had to go around and around with Home Depot over my door install and the measurements being wrong. Finally called my CC company and asked to reverse the measure charge. That’ll take a month to sort out. And I need to call a guy I know, see if he’ll do the doors for me.

Had to chase after my glasses too. Finally got my regular specs, had an issue with the shades though. The woman at the eye doc says they just got a shipping notice, so I should have them any day now.

And 80 other things... gosh I hate being a grownup sometimes lol.

I am liking, not so much loving, the SL. It’s beautiful and the battery life is amazing. About twice as long as my other single battery mods. Not loving the joystick, the menu, or that dang screw cap. Wouldn’t buy another, certainly.

All I have coming is some mesh pro coils and another dual.

Yeah, that’s where I’m at, too. I get to do most of the stuff I was always too busy to do before. Not too shabby.

One of my coworkers likes to remind me that has has tattoos and dingleberries older than me  The closest junk shop that I know of is like half hour highway drive into the city. Not my cup of tea, I like my local small town. Oh and I forgot in an earlier post that I'm due for a new flashlight.

Well I don’t have any tattoos, older or not. But my youngest child’s pet bird is 19. I have custody of him for now. Nobody told me cockatiels lived that long lol.

Forever. I have a 48 year old box turtle. At this point, I’m going to have to provide for him in my will

I never knew. Just looked it up on Wiki and they claim 16 to 25 years when in captivity (obviously less when in the wild), with some living as old as 32. WOW! Learn something new everyday.

My cat is 26…………human years (she is 4). She still acts like a spoiled brat teenager. Made bacon and eggs for breaky this morn, she yelled at me until I gave her a piece of bacon.

We inherited a young sun conure one time. The girls ( now grown and gone) were in middle/high school. It didn’t get along well with either our hunting dog or cat, so poor thing got rehomed again. Baby is still alive and pissy. Not sure if it’s their normal demeanor, or the stress of constantly being stalked by the resident 4 legged beasties.

In shinier news... incoming goodies the next 3 days. Nothing exciting, but needed. Batteries, 2 backup tanks , a couple dozen drip tips (they were a lot sale, mixed styles), a 40w istick for the SIL ( for work. For some reason, he loves it more than anything better I give him), and a voopoo mojo just cause it was small and didn’t need batteries to haul with it for trips to the camp.

Since I quit smoking I pretty much gave myself my 'savings' $40/week as money to spend how I want.

Some weeks it's extra groceries, electronics or clothing, but I sure don't feel guilty when it goes on vaping gear - that is what's keeping me smoke free ;)

And it's so much FUN

I had a hen day conure, and they tend to be a little meaner than the sun. Mine loved me, and attacked others. Took my grown son to the ground, crying. Grabbed him right by the neck. Gosh, I miss that bird. Better defense than a Rottweiler.
