I snipped out the part that had nothing to do with me...

If it's worth $160USD to you then by all means enjoy. :thumb:

That rda would be ~$250CAD to get landed here barring any duties, there is not an atty made that is worth that kind of money for me.

yeah there is a limit to originals for sure :) I mean, I appreciate their effort with design and implementing it but there is a limit to how much they should gouge the average person.... Some prices are just too ridiculous for sure.

The high end market is the high end market, it is not for the average person. Would the average person walk into a Bugatti dealership and be outraged at prices? Would they walk into an artists studio and demand a commissioned piece of art or even a limited print run? There are different entry points and levels where consumers sit... are you a Kia/ Hyundai, Nissan/ Honda, Lexus/ Infinity, or Bugatti shopper?

Personally, I am lucky that I have the means to be able to shop high end artisanal level gear, I get to know many of the mod makers personally; it’s not just Chinese drone #A1880, that is part of the draw to the high end hobbiest market. There are mod makers that are higher than my level, but they have their market they choose to fill and I am not in that customer base...

Speaking of which, there is a charity auction sitting at 500€ for this little guy with custom engraving making it a one off. Raising money for the family of a well known person in the UK vape community that just passed away.

I am not aware of the previous issues with @chanelvaps and others. I will comment that she is absolutely correct in that we should not be confrontational. And if her comment was directed to me, then I accept that for I can see how my actions were confrontational despite the intent was to question the comments made by someone else.

@VapourFlavour – whether your intent was to just share an opinion, your execution made it seem like criticism. I just questioned your comment because it did not make sense. It probably did not justify the extent the conversation went, to which BOTH of us took part in. And it certainly did not justify your condescending remarks….and no I was not offended.

But while we are on the topic of how opinions can be interpreted as criticism, let me remind you that you did get upset over the conversations with the LV Drone – to the point where you actually said… “The pretentious members on here have actually turned me off of this forum.” . I can’t quote here because it was removed after posted, but I did manage to quote it then. Link below. You felt insulted didn’t you? And I am not faulting you for that. But you can clearly see how poorly executed opinions can be misinterpreted as criticism and the effect it can have on an individual. That is all I have to say.

I am so ****ing done debating the rda issue of today. I'm not commenting further on it. I will correct you on the Drone issue and that comment I made. At no point was a I mad about anyone's comments about that, head over to the actual Drone link where people were much harsher and you'll see me saying that it's their opinion and "we'll see". The pretentious comment was related to a post that was edited before I finished typing mine and the person actually PM'd me to apologize, which is why I edited mine and was an attack unrelated directly to the Drone.

Having said that, I am done this time. I will not partake in a forum where one persons opinion can't be expressed, debated or discussed in a healthy way, the fact that it just never ended and got me to the point of asking if you're a hit at parties tells me this is enough.

I know that you always have to have the last word, but save it. I won't see it.

    Morning everyone.

Super excited. Woke up to a message from CoilArt asking for my address. Looks like i'm going to be reviewing the LUX200 kit. At this rate I might have to set up a website or youtube channel. Never thought i'd have a queue of things to review.

After reading all of these comments, the one thing I see is a lot of these people have forgotten why they are vaping. It's not whether you buy clones or think you're something because you have money to spend on high end toys. NO, it's not about any of this.

IT'S ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE QUIT SMOKING!!! PERIOD. No matter how they do it, or what they buy or can afford. This thread is everything I'm not about and I will not be partaking in it any longer.

I discovered the ignore user function earlier this morning.

Works really well - makes it so their replies and comments in threads completely disappear.

Instead of leaving the thread, assuming you enjoyed it previously, you should check it out.

Just remember to thank me before you ignore me so I can see it!

Good morning shiners! As to all this back and forth over who .... hurt who, knock it off. Plenty of other places to selectively pull partial quotes out to defend some position on an absolutely minor issue. For those offended by the opinions of others, remember, opinions are like :censored: holes, everybody has one.

There's stuff that gets rave reviews here that I've tried and thought they sucked. Doesn't make the racers or me right, that's just how it is. Same goes the opposite, things Iike others don't. But adults accept that without feeling offended, especially if you're not the designer, manufacturer, invested money in the manufacturer, or they're a relative.

As to clones, how many here own an Android phone and love it? You're using a clone. Apple came out with a smartphone and Google jumped on board using Chinese factories to make phones to compete. AMD in your PC as more affordable with good performance? You're using a clone. They run the same instruction set as an Intel x86 processor, which came out first, and run the same Win OS as most Intel based pcs do.

As to a comparison to high end cars, I've owned them. IME no one has successfully cloned a Ferrari. Even if you build a kit car with the same body, the engine, transmission, and drive train will never be the same. FT won't be carrying it.

In every single industry, advances are made through iterative changes to existing designs to slowly improve performance, design, and meet customer demands. If you had paid attention in high school electricity 101 aall we freaking use is a simple circuit you should have learned about. You have a battery, a switch, and a resistor sitting between the positive and negative poles. Ever mount a resistor on a breadboard on your Heathkit radio? Postless deck. Setting up a bench demo with alligator clips? Clamp style deck. Same for 2 posts with screws on top. I'll give you that a Velocity deck was pretty original.

As to innovation? What's so great about doing a design people never saw before that it is labeled innovative just because it's different? Innovative means a jump in design that markedly improves performance. Difference just for the sake of difference alone isn't innovative, it's a styling change to make something tempting to buyers. Were fins on cars innovative? Sure they were different, but they didn't do anything and once all the car makers used them they fell out of favor and a new design came along to tempt buyers back in the showroom.

So let's leave this holier than thouw sniping out of here. Show me something that gives me a noticeably better vape and I'll call it innovative, even if it does resemble something that came before it and this new one perfects the concept and design. And high price or limited availability doesn't equal innovation or impress me. Blow my socks off with performance and I don't care if it's mass produced cheap or handmade super expensive. And these things aren't Bugattis. They're a piece of metal that hold a wire in place. Using it to vaporize a solution with nic in it was innovative. Everything else since has been iterative improvements on what came before.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the current wave of BS that is floating through here. The sooner the participants of this foolishness move along, the quicker we can get back to normal.

@Eskie very well stated, I can only hope that this puts an end to the nonsense seen recently. This thread was created for those who desired new shiny stuff, and the pleasure that is felt when you find something that you want, as well as the journey it takes to arrive at your mailbox. It also provides me the entertainment from some of the humerous posts and pictures. The world is full of discord everywhere you care to look. I’d rather not see it here.

    Happy New Vape Year

I don’t think it’s about compartmentalizing people into income/spending subsets. It’s about whether those high end pieces speak to you, and you’ll enjoy having them not just to use, but to also enjoy the artistry. To me vaping is utilitarian. It keeps me from smoking. I want solid, quality gear, but it doesn’t excite me enough to buy a $250 tank over a $50 one. If it was antiques, jewelry or purses, the answer would be quite different. Everyone has their weak spots for spending. We need to appreciate that everyone has different tastes and needs

My arguments have had noting to do with clones, per se.. I've said numerous times I don't care if people buy them. Some do because they can't afford the original and some do because the original is hard to get.. I get it and have no issue at all there.

What you don't do is buy one then slam and attack the original creator with insults and disinformation rants....

Who and what has been attacked in just the last few days? Astonishing!

    -@Doug Dino
    -Billet Box
    -Darren (Hellfire)
    -Hellfire
    -@Katdarling
    -Me (more than once)

All this just in the last week or so.. And now we have these same people playing the victim card and making woe is me type statements..

I thought this thread was suppose to be a funny support group type thing for those of us with new gear syndrome...
