Good morning everyone! I hope all your shiny dreams come true this weekend lol!!:toast:

I’ll be checking out my new Lustro stabwood and maybe playing with the new Pumper 18. I need to read up more about building on it though. I think it’s needs to built on like a mech even though it has a mosfet. Or something like that

Yes, you'd build for it like you would a mech -- the mosfet is just the switch with whatever protections it has (reverse polarity, low voltage, short, 10-sec cutoff, temp), otherwise you get direct battery voltage to the coil (minus some voltage drop and voltage sag).

What kind of coils and wattage do you typically use in a regulated mod?

Good morning all,

I haven’t been keeping up with the thread so Likes, Winner’s and Hearts to all! No new shiny’s to report but did receive a notice earlier in the week of the new Hexohm O-Frame. The purple and red are mighty tempting.

I hate the carbon fibre look, I find it super cheesy.

But my hope is that with both doors being removable and replaceable, an aftermarket scene pops up for it.

I'd love to get a red or black one with black ash and red resin hybrid doors.

Yes, aftermarket panels would be sweet!!

Who is going to be the first to get an Ohmsmium?

In other news, a very large marmalade Manx cat is crying at my door to come in. He (there's no way he's not a boy, given the size of his head) is most handsome. If I knew he wouldn't spray and if he didn't make my girls nervous, I'd let him in and see what happens.

Just took my Aegis + Kylin II for a little trip to 70W land. Can't see past the end of my nose for vape :D.

I accidentally (honest) somehow turned my watts to the max on one of my devices one time. It fried the cotton in one puff. I think the 200 watt option is there in case you want to light a charcoal grill or something.

As much as I’m an AsMODus fan, I just can’t even with that one!
I like its funny looks, except for the fire button, but it's completely unsuitable for the way I vape. Plus there's the small matter of the $350 price tag.

I normally vape at around 35 Watts with .4 to .6 ohms coil either ss316l single spaced or Clapton.

No Ohmsium for me. Unfortunately I think it’s .... ugly especially with that red fire button.

Using an Ohms Calculator I figured .4 ohms coil with a fresh single 18650 25A battery 4.2V will draw 10.5 amps at 44 watts. Lots of leeway.

    I think lol!

A good starting point would be a coil at 0.4 to 0.45 ohms with a single spaced coil. Ohms law will tell you that a 0.4ohm coil at 4.2v will get you 44 watts, but there will a small amount of voltage drop before it hits your coil (from whatever wires, metal, and connections the current is flowing through), and there be some voltage sag as the current is drawn from the battery, so it may be around 3.9v at best (giving 38 watts) to start with, and then fall from there as battery voltage goes down.

A clapton coil can require a bit more ramp up (and ramp down), and you don't have any power curves to play with to give you an initial boost, so you might want to build a smidgen lower with claptons to get what you are looking for in a vape (but maybe not). Now, voltage sag of the battery is directly related to the current draw, so the lower you build to get higher watts, the more voltage sag you get, reducing your watts and can be like chasing your tail. But your power range is nowhere near extreme, so you should find something that works well pretty easily.

Sorry to be so long winded ... I'll go back to snarky little remarks now :)

The fire button is super ugly, but I find the body merely funny looking, and it looks like it would be very comfortable to hold. It's moot anyway. As I said, it's the wrong mod for me, which is good, since I could never justify getting one.

What the hell did they do to the Ohmsmium??? The first one was one of the best looking mods IMO. The V2 just looks hideous to me.

Edit: Holy $#!+ That thing costs $350?

There's ways the tried and true cure to ramp up on a beefier coil on a mech, hold the button down for a second or so before you draw to warm things up. Just be sure your cotton is wet.
